Subject: (orb) orb vinyl and where to find it..and anything else..
hello to all on the list...
i have noticed many postings about "where can i get this, i want this,
etc"on vinyl and disc...
the best place i know of at this point is SISTER RAY on BERWICK ST, SOHO ,LONDON
or Londons record and tape exchange ...
if you are really serious and want these cds/vinyl bad enough, take the
trip over..
i have found so many Orb/klf cd singles, full lengths (aubrey mixes and
etc) and TONS of Orb vinyl..every thing you can think of can pretty much be
found there..
for example , i found the double disc of blue room, 3 pressing of blue room
(original and remixes) SPACE (klf limited album ) and 20 others to
numerous to mention in Feb of this year...
for those who cant make the trip. i will be heading over again for a few
release parties for our label, so i will keep my eye out for some decent
discs / vinyl...

cheers...
no worries, mate..

I greatly apologize for the flame I posted on this mailing list. I wrote to
everybody that Dan Motut was a poor trader, and that nobody should trade with
him. Well, I recieved the package today that contained the items that he was
supposed to give me. He wrote me a kind letter apologizing for its lateness,
and I forgive him. I only hope that he can forgive me.

Hello fellow orb heads =o)...
If possible, could someone please give me a review of the Orb remix of
Dollshead "It's Over, It's Under". I would really appreciate it...i
ordered it new at my work and it is sitting in my bin (i work at a used
and new cd and vinyl store near the University of Washington in Seattle,
i actually find a lot of really good orb stuff that people sell to us
all the time. In the last week i scored the orb remix of NIN's "Perfect
Drug", the newest Peel Sessions disc (4 track one with No Fun), and
Orbscure Trax (O-Trax is sitting in the internet office, has been since
march, and if the person who ordered it dosen't pick it up in a month it
is mine). All used...and according to the computer copies of Orbscure
Trax comes in once every two months and Aubrey Mixes once about every
four months.)
Thanks in advance.........

The "Pandeharmonium" Orb remix of PCO's "Music for a Found Harmonium" was
released on the US version of their "Preludes, Airs, and Yodels"

Would anyone recommend the Asylum single? I think it was disk 2 or 1. Or

Subject: (orb) hello
Hello everyone. After being on this list for about the past week or so, I
figured it is about time that I introduce myself. I am a big Orb fan. I
listen to a lot of ambient, techno, and Old school style hardcore, but
above all my favorite music is the Orb (and I have been a fan sinse '91
when I was first turned onto LFC). I am 21 and live in Minneapolis,MN with
my fiance (soon to be wife in December) and am origanaly from Duluth,MN
(for any one who has had the mis-fortune of being there). I am personally
in the procces of rebuilding my collection of Orb (when I lived in Duluth,
my house was broken into and among the various items stolen was my
collection of Orb CD's including my favorite, the Double Disc version of
U.FORB w/ the 40 min. version of Blue Room). I am familiar with most all of
the Orb release even though my collection is not even close to complete
yet. Among some of my rare ones are the following:
Assassin (UK double digi-pak BLRDA 81)
Perpetual Dawn (UK BLRD 46)
Asylum (UK 1 & 2 CID & CIDX 657)
Orbus Terrarum (Promo CDORB 1)
Orbscure Trax (Promo PRCD 7444-2)
Toxygene (Promo PRCD 7432-2)
An Introduction to ORB (Promo PRCD-6968-2)
as well as a copy of Live 93 (autographed by LX when Orb was here in 97, he
did a DJ set at Let It Be Records a few blocks from my house and afterwards
had the opportunity to meet him)
and a few other not quite as rare ones as well as all the standard releases
that I wont bother to list.
I am not interested in asking about trades or personal sales as I am aware
how valuable peoples Orbs are to them (as mine are to me). I just enjoy
discussing Orb and possible exchanging info on places online that may have
some Orb. Also I may be interested in exchanging MP3's. I currently dont
have many MP3's but can record them quite readilly (I dont like to keep
them on my hard drive as they + all of my personal production take up a lot
of space). I am always interested in finding Orb releases, I have a
connection in the UK for a few and I do a lot of searching online.
Currently I am trying to find a MP3 or actual disc of the 40 minute version
of Blue Room (It is my favorite song). I would be happy to trade MP3's of
anything I have assuming there is somewhere to post them to.
Just a little side note, I noticed that someone (I dont have the name at
this second) posted in regards to Excursions in Ambience-the second Orbit,
that there are a couple trax from the Aubrey Mixes. Now I happen to have
this disc and upon looking at the insert I saw that as well. However as I
have not had the fortune of finding the Aubrey Mixes yet nor heard it, I am
curious as to which songs they are (as they track listing for the Aubrey
mixes does not match with any of the songs on this disc). I do know that
there are 3 songs that are mixed by Orb:
Maurizio - Ploy (Battersea Was An Island of Mud Mix) [ a slightly shorter
version of the same is also on Auntie Aubrey's Excursion Beyond the Call of
Duty
The Grid - Crystal Clear (clear, like an unmuddied Lake) [ note I also have
the original release of The Grid which contains the Original of this song-
it's pretty cool but I like the Orb mix Better] [ the begining of which
contains a sample of Albert Hoffman- the sample was also used on 50 years
of Sunshine the Anniversery of LSD compiliation CD -song "Thee Spirit Ov
Thee Molecule" by XKP & Mr. L]
and
Material- Mantra (Praying Mantra Mix Edit) [ a longer version of this also
appears on Excursion Beyond the Call of Duty]
However I am curious as to which songs on the Aubrey Mixes these happen to
correspond to (as I have not heard it). Well anyways, my post has become
rather long winded so I will cease with this letter for now.
Happy Trails (the good kind of trails),
- -Jeremy

Hi Orbers
Did any Aussies out there catch Alex Paterson on JJJ's Mixed Up?
Well I did! And I enjoyed it too. Though he didn't play any where near as
long as I would have preffered. I was in some stife with my tape deck
though, it decided to break down 20 mins into his set. I missed some really
good jungle and finally got it going for his second half which was more
Dance/Ambient.
The best part was his intro where he spoke about the Orb's begining and
what they have acheived over the last 10 years.
I only got about 45 mins or so, the full hour would have been nice. Any one
else have any opinions on his set? It was the first time I have ever heard
him DJ live and I've never seen an Orb show so I have nothing to compare it
too......but I'm giving it the thumbs up! :)

Subject: Dub Questions Answered
I've been getting a few questions..so instead of answering them to each
individual person..I thought it best to answer them here.
First and formost..I'll start dubbing the tapes as soon as I get some
$$$..Someone gave me heads up and let me know that it's best I do it this
way so I don't get stuck with lots of blank tapes I don't need :).
- -Someone was wondering how I would be dubbing this...I'd going to use the
"master" for all recordings. Unfortunately the master is already 2nd
generation(all the videos were on 4 or 5 different tapes)...If this bugs
anyone: a) and you've already sent your $$$..Let me know and I'll mail it
back to you. b) and you haven't sent your $$$..Let me know and I'll take
you off the "list".
- -I will be shipping out the tapes as I get them done...Instead of mailing
them all at once. As for order..I'm still unsure..I'd like to send the
tapes to the people who first emailed me about wanting a dub..We'll see
how long it takes for the $$ to get here..Then I'll make my decision(I
won't do it however by who's $$$ gets here first..That's sort of unfair
imho..especially to the people who live farther out :).)
That's all for now..If there are any other ?'s..Let me know :).
