I realize that. Notice how I said 'EXTREME'? And it was in capital
letters. If you measure it, you will see it is 'fairly' accurate except
for its crookedness.

Yeah I've played them but they usually only keep my busy for a day or
two. Enemies are usually in the same places, have the same moves, and
levels are few. BUT this is how it used to be which has kind of turned
me away from its category of gaming.

All the good ones are on the PlayStation & Saturn. I had high hopes for
Mischief Makers coming from Treasure and all, but it was such a sorry game.
And we all know about Yoshi's Story. The N64 just gives sidescrollers a bad
name. Speaking of which, when is Goemon 2 coming out? Also, on a related
note, is Hybrid Heaven in stores yet?

It isn't really sidescrolling, but it is still 2-D. It's not forced-scrolling
sidescrolling.

I like them cos of the simple rules. Shoot everything, if you get shot, you
lose a life. Although I like the games like R-Type & Last Resort more because
of the added effect of the Force pod. I'd love to see Last Resort on the N64
or PlayStation. That had to be my favorite Neo*Geo game.

Subject: [N64] Dolphin RAMS the competition
This news story made the headlines at Next Generation last night.
The guys at the magazine definately know its signifiance. In short,.
the embedded SRAM in the graphics chip, increases system and graphics
performance. With this SRAM (which could be as much as 64 megabytes)
added to the RAM Nintendo told reporters would embedded in the gekko
processor itself as well as regular DRAM in the system, the dolphin
could end up with a truckload of RAM that could make game development
and system performance for the dolphin a lot better than sony's ps2,
even if the processing muscle of the two consoles are equal.
I was just checking the ps2 specs and was really surprised to find it
had less video ram than the dreamcast. This btw, is the bottleneck many
developers point to as the ps2's greatest weakness. Other than the
expensive emotion engine its suppose to be running on.

Um.. you made a slight but fairly significant error.. according to the
article, they are planning to put as much as 128 MegaBITS, which is 16
Megabytes. 64 megabytes would be prohibitively expensive, at least for now.
Even new high-end 3D cards like the TNT Ultra or Voodoo3 only have up to 16
or 32, I'm not sure, and those cost several hundred dollars just by
themselves.

Oops, my mistake :0D
BTW, SRAM is not the same as the ram you find in graphic cards, which is
usually DRAM.

Yea, Hybrid Heaven is out. I haven't played it much...great graphics, and the
nicest opening movie I've seen on N64 ever. Only played it a few seconds
though, so I don't really have any opinions about it. Another game I haven't
played much yet is WWF Attitude. From the one or two matches I played, it just
seems exactly like WarZone. Create a Player's got more options than ever.
I've been playing Duke Nukem: Zero Hour a lot lately. I was surprised, because
I hadn't heard anything about it being good, and the first N64 Duke was nothing
to jump and shout about. But this 3rd person Duke game is fun; not many of
these games on N64. Pure action, but lots of thinking involved, cool weapons,
the control is pretty good, the one-liners from Duke are great, and it is just
a well pulled off game. Above expectations. This is the game that's pulled me
away from Shadowman where I have no idea what to do in.
Madden 2000 is also pretty good. I definitely like it better than QB Club
2000, and it is the best Madden game on 64 so far. Lots of options, graphics
are sufficent (although Madden's always been behind QB Club in that
department), and gameplay is great. If you got a Blitz game and want one of
the more sim football games, this is the one.
Anybody else got any opinions on the new games?

"Nintendorks is so bad it makes Nintendojo look good." You don't think that
suggests that you don't like the dojo?

Chalk that one up for bad phrasing. What I meant was I'd rather view the
screen for Nintendojo that says that they're shut down and so and such than
any of the content on Nintendorks.
