Subject: [N64] [Little Offtopic] Jobs offered on a new N64 site....
hi everyone,
As some of you might remember, some members of this mailinglist started a
new N64 homepage about 1,5 months ago. Well, things got a little wrong from
than, we know there were people replying to the staff-asking-mails
without getting any answers and we want to appologize for that.
But now we need guys who want to get this page rocking! if you are
interested for a fine job at Game Nation (the N64 site) be sure to e-mail me
at <siemon@huizen.nhkanaal.nl>, don't get me wrong, I'll garantee a reply.
what can be done? these jobs are open:
****************************************************************************
**********************************
- -A discussion composer, a job for someone who reads almost every post to
this list. If you notice any interesting discussions try to gather all post
around the subject and put them all together in one big HTML file. (not
necessary to do the HTML youself)
- -A "releaser", someone who can get realease dates of games is very welcome,
you'll get your own spot on the site wich you can control all by yourself
(if you want)
- -News writers, your job will be to search the internet for news and write
about it, even better is if you have an inside source, here knowing HTML is
a must because news can be updated directly by yourself.
also being very often online looking for news is required.
- -A Screenshot Taker, have you got the equipement to take screenshots from
your N64 games? be sure to join us right away.
- -Insiders, do you have an inside source in anything nintendo related? join us...
- -Graphics Designer, here we need someone very good, you have to know what
looks good and have to be able to produce it, you know the graphics give the
first impression of a site, important job!
- -Questions and Answer host, all questions will be send to you and you'll
have to answer, a very great knowledge of Nintendo is required here. [ Note,
your e-mail address will appear on the site!]
- -Links-Editor, search the internet for interesting gamers-sites, your place
in GN will contain some regular links to very good sites (with a little
discription) and something like the link of the week (with a little
discription). online alot is a must!
- -Reviews Editor, your task will be to check the reviews and correct them in
correct english. of course you can't make lots of spelling errors yourself
in this job.
- -Writer, are you a good writer? we have a fine job for you, you'll be
writing reviews, editorials, and perhaps your own column... [GREAT JOB FOR
PEOPLE WITHOUT IINTERNET ACCESS]
- -Your own idea, do you have your own really great idea but never had the
place to work it out? mail me with a good discription of you thinkings and
we'll handle something.
Reviews are always wanted, and will allways be put online (unless they are
really crappy), if you don't want to join our staff but like to write a
review once in a while, let us know!
****************************************************************************
**********************************
Be sure you really want to join and send me an e-mail containing what kind
of job you are interested in and why you are interested in it. MAIL=REPLY!
siemon@huizen.nhkanaal.nl
thanks for your interests and apologize for this mail being a little offtopic...
my regards,
Siemon, Head HTML Design of Game Nation.

I think your computer cost at least $1,000. That is a difference of over
$950. I think for that much I can stay with my n64!
<< I paid 200 dollars for my N64; 3Dfx cards are ALL under 200 dollars now.
The difference in graphics benchmarks is greater than the 50 dollars
difference in price....

I knew of such a thing in the 16 bit era. So I think it's true.. Well, it's
technicly possible.. Maybe without analog support though...

It's in the works curently. We're not finished. But now we have a more
clear view of what we need, so we're assigning staff again. The main html
lay out is done, so now it's time to get the reall work going.

Subject: Re: [N64] (DKR) How do you earn TT as a character?
To get T.T.: On every course, you must use the default vehicle and complete
the course on time trial in a certain time, those times can be found at
N64Code Center or various other n64 websites, and if you accomplish it in that
time, the next time you do a time trial on that course you will race against a
T.T. ghost. You need to beat that T.T. ghost on every course, including Future
Fun Land, and once you do, he is a playable character. Hope that helps.

same board. Or can you just use one out of the 3 vehicals? Some boards
have 1 2 or 3 vehicals selectible during time trial on the same course.
Also do you have to beat lap records too, or just the overall times? I
have checked numourous VG magazines and online VG sites, but (IMO)
nothing was SPECIFIC enough. Thank you for bearing with me on this one.

Well, at least on an N64 list it is a little more expected to see N64
advocacy.

yeah, but what else did you have to buy? Joystick, Computer, Monitor,
All that crap.... Costs a little more than a N64 and a TV. Most people
own a TV anyway - at least many more than own a computer. And on top of
that I can play my N64 on my 32 inch YV with my Dolby Surround system,
while sitting on a couch with my wife and friends. A PC however is
USUALLY in an office type situation with a crummy chair and a desk...
:)
Like I said though, if I had enough money I would have a BAD ASS
computer. :)
Note all the :) i throw in, these indicate that I am saying all these in
good humor, and not to spite people.

$25 plus $5-10 for games. <G> Yes, I bought one(well, I had my parents get
it for me for my birthday). :) I have 3 games so far(Tennis, Wario Land,
and Red Alert). It's pretty good, but the major failing, is the
positioning-- if it strapped to your head like other virtual reality sets,
it would be great, and would be MUCH more successful, but instead they want
you to lean forward, hurting your back, to look into it-- this is exactly
ruined it.

Subject: Re: [N64] Control Center <spoiler>
Not destroying the monitors near Borris does help. Now the soldiers can't
destroy the glass(well they can but it will hold them back for a while).
I still haven't beaten the control Center yet. I followed the map on the
bottom and I was doing well until I came a cross a third drone gun. I
destroyed it pretty easily. The one clossest to bond is the one I had the
trouble with. I don't think leaning really helps. You always go to far
right or left. After the first part, I was doing quite well until I came
across another room with drone guns. I already knew about these and how
there were two more added but I had no Idea where they were. I destroyed
the first two in the distance quite easily. Then I went in the room only
to find the other drone guns attacking me. They didn't me because I ran
to the place opposite of the first steel boxes. I tried to destroy the
first gun. It was quite hard and I lost a lot of health. When I finally
destroyed it, I ran to the steel boxes to destroy the other gun. But when
I leaned and tried to shoot it, I died. Any advice.
Winston Chan
P.S. I received the two throwing knives cheat. I don't know why so many
people think it is hard to get. I just pretend the game is duke nukem or
doom and start shooting everything, U know running and shooting. I shot
the first camera and took the video while Natalya was following me. I
then destroyed the camera in the room with the computer and she started
typing. There were so many people behind her and they didn't bother to
shoot her. Then I exited and got the cheat. Easy

If you could justify getting a computer though, go for it. I have the
Monster 3D card from 3DFX and it blows anything that you have seen
previously away (besides the Jurassic Park computers). The N64 looks bad
in comparison. The fuzziness that plagues N64 games is not there nor is
the fog. It's really an amazing thing.

I got my card for Christmas from my parents so I paid nothing (the price
was $179) and you would even have to admit that an extra $32 blows the N64
out of the water. You would have to see it to really appreciate what I'm
saying. There is NO slowdown or fog or fuzziness and tons of software
support for these cards (on CD too). Sorry, PC gaming might be expensive
because of the machine that they are on but if your a hard-core gamer, you
wouldn't even care. Sorry if I sound insensitive to your finances but a
computer is a worthwhile investment that helps me tremendously with other
things too.
