In spite of...gameplay is king. Hey, if you can take them away, that is
even better. But they have never bothered me in the first place.

That's where I ordered mine from. I haven't recived it yet, which doesn't
bother me. They list a ups tracking number for my order, which says I
should have it by Friday. I don't have time to play it now anyway, so I
don't care. However, I've come across some people who have had slow
re-stock and shipping times with them. But, sometimes what you save in
price you lose in customer service and delivery time.

Have any of you guys ordered PD through this site? If so, have you received
your
copy yet?
Thank you, Vi. I just cancelled my pre-order from EB World and placed
an order with these folks. Heck, with free shipping and a $55 base
price, it already beats EB World without the $25 rebate.

Does anyone think that ESRB really matters? I've purchased games under age
17 at places like Target, K-Mart, etc., never being asked. Just gives
parents another reason to gripe about games.

Oh Eric, you are so smart for not touching that game, because you
definitely will NOT be able to put it down once you start. My mom took me to
the store to buy it today and words can't compare to the depth of this game.
I didn't know what I wanted to do when I got it; play the challenges, play
co-op mode, play against some sims, do the training session, play solo...I
just played a little bit of each to get the hang of it. Oh yeah, by the way,
for those of you that have been fortunate enough to play it, are you supposed
to knock kill that old lady and her secretary in the first level? Or are you
just supposed to leave them alone? I went to unarmed and knocked them both
out =) I got that old lady's necklace...dunno what its for though.

The ESRB is for the benefit of publishers mostly. Actually it gives parents
less reasons to gripe about games.

Technically a store can be fined for selling M games to those under 17, like
a theater can be fined for letting kids see rated R movies.

Thanks :-)
No, PD is much more than a GoldenEye rehash, and it's light-years ahead of
the comparably mediocre DK64 and JFG that Rare has recently put it. PD is
just plain awesome; very realistic, very fun, and HUGE. HUGE in a lot of crap
to do; a firing range where you get bronze, silver, and gold medals, tons of
levels to complete, tons of guns, tons of multiplayer stages, TONS of
everything, but it's all fun and cool to get. The game is just do ... perfect!

The ESRB ratings never mattered until after Columbine. Now, I can't rent Bio
F. R. E. A. K. S. or Duke Nukem because, according to the "experts," it'll
warp my sense of reality and make me lay waste to my school. Same way as
wearing a trench coat to school (something one of my friends did regularly)
will now make you insane and homicidal. Everyone is so damn freaked out about
ANYTHING that even MAY cause you to act violently. Although it doesn't bother
me much (they never card a 6'3" guy at the local Cinemark, and my 'rents have
cleared my Blockbuster account), I feel bad for the healthy, normal kids that
are deprived of a lot of fun experiences because two sickos in Colorado have
bad parents.

If you're playing Agent, it's not necessary. Secret Agent and Perfect Agent
require you to get the necklace which is an access card type thing. But you need
to knock her out, killing her will render the card useless.

To answer Cy's question, yes, some places are really strict about it. When I
pre-ordered my copy of PD, they warned me that I wouldn't be allowed to pick
it up unless someone over 18 bought it (funny how'd they take the $10 without
age verification, so in the event I couldn't get an adult to buy it, they'd
still have my $10). And Blockbuster gets real bitchy when anyone under 17
tries to rent an R rated movie or M rated game.

and more. The game will no doubt be a favourite of mine for a long
time. About the slow-down though, I think this game is getting a bad
rep for no reason. The only place that the slow-down/framerate was
noticeable to the point of being annoying was with the Co-Op missions on
High-rez, but it was fine on Low-rez. My friend and I didn't even notice
it, the game's too much fun. I found it more surprising that when
playing multiplayer with 6 sims there was practically no noticeable
slow-down.

Also, has anyone worked out any cool multiplayer scenarios to set up? I
heard a good one called "Assassinate the Prez". Basically the a human
player plays the president, that is in Air Force One mission in the
game, and has two Dark Sims as his presidential security. The other
players are assassinators on the opposing team (and maybe a couple of
sims as well). The great thing is that with teams you can also control
your sims. My friends and I tried this one out and it was a lot of fun.
Later all.

Stopping you buying/renting games seems a bit harsh just for the misguided
instincts of a small percentage. Still, we have the same problems over here.
Anyway, a question on Perfect Dark.
What are the atmospheric/gun sounds like?, do you get screams/curses?, does
it sound good in surround sound?. Well, basically the whole sound type
experience.

The sound in the game seems really good. People curse as they die, scream "why
me?" or just scream. The guns all sound great too. I don't know about the
Surround
Sound, but am eager to try is out somewhere. Anybody out there have it?

What about the background sounds?, i.e. sirens/traffic. The jungle mission
in Goldeneye had great sound effects, I suppose they're much the same in PD.
