O.K. I've resisted so far, but I will put mine down now - IN NO
PARTICULAR ORDER:
1. The Blair Witch Project
2. Human Traffic
3. The Matrix
4. Star Wars
5. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Finally released in the UK after 20
years of censorship hell, so for me IT COUNTS
And the worst 3:
1. Wild Wild West
2. Deep Blue Sea
3. The Haunting
MARK
PS Just saw Blair Witch yesterday, only released in the UK on Friday.
It blew me away, not scary, but a seminal piece of work that is true
cinematic and story telling genius. The final scene really disturbed me

I can categorically state that the worst films in history (barring Wild
Wild West), have all been directed by Michael Winner -- "Dirty Weekend"
anyone. (No that is not a proposition!) :)

Completely Agree. Has anyone seen My Boyfriends Back? How about Mars Attacks?
I think we can all pull our heads out of the sand to agree unanimously on this
one!
And I agree with Mark on the best and worst!

it poked fun at everything.

I tried to watch My Boyfriends Back one night when my cable had gone

painful and I had to turn if off after 20 minutes.

I agree mostly about Stallone movies. However, I found "Copland" to
be very good and I thought Stallone was very good in it.

I must disagree as another UK resident. Winner may have become
a colossal bore and made some real crap in recent years, but I
have a soft spot for "Hannibal Brooks" and think that Won Ton Ton...
is a hoot for cameo-spotters. At least he never employed Paulie
Shore!

Good lord, no. that movie was contemptible bile on a massive scale.
I was into the premise, it held a lot of potential for a decent
action flick (even if the realism was going to be tough) but it just
went to hell in a handbasket. Is Saffron Burrows the worst actress
of all time? She's got my vote. And this whole Hollywood thing where
any world famous scientist has to be a female supermodel is just
ridiculous. The Saint, Mimic, The Pisstaker.. uhh.. I mean
Peacemaker..
Crap flick.

"It was made to be bad"???? Man, you must be one of those that think cow
shit splashed on the Virgin Mary is fine art. Maybe Wild Wild West was
made to be bad too. I mean, that would explain why it was so bad.
Mars attacks was bad. Whether this was intentional and supposed to be a big
joke on the movie going public, I don't know. Even Jack Nicholson failed to
save this one for me.

Human Traffic was a low budget british film set in Cardiff, about one
drugs fuelled night. A bit like the excellent GO, but for me a better
film. I hear that Miramax have snapped up the US distribution rights.
When it gets a release, go see it.

Gene, first of all Nightmare before Christmas was directed by
Henry Selick, Tim Burton wrote and produced it.
Secondly, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but as far
as you saying BWP is the worst film ever - come on!!
Have you seen "Wild Wild West", have you seen "Batman and
Robin", have you seen "The Avengers", have you seen "Caligula", have you
seen "Tank Girl", have you seen "The Haunting" -these were all big
budget films, and are far more insidious than anything a bunch of film
students with a video camera and imagination can put together.

I wonder with everyone's judgement that people forget must forget the market for
which the BWP was created for. The actors were no names, they had no stunt
doubles, and had no scripts. How many hollywood actors could do this who pull
down millions a picture? How many would 'stoop' to such raw acting. I have
amazing respect for these actors who suffered through the elements and stayed in
their hysterical characters all week of shooting. No one yelled cut. They
couldn't go to their trailer and drink espresso, and they had to go to the
bathroom in the woods. THE WOODS, PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!
I have amazing respect for what they wwere trying to accomplish, and comparing
it on a blockbuster level parallel to the other top grosssing movies around is
like comparing a stick and dick cartoon strip to the mona lisa. They each have
their place, but they are obviously in different catagories.

What I find so incredible is that these people were able to make a
VERY LOW budget film and make millions! I take my hat off to them and

You want "Bad, bad, bad....." ???
How 'bout "The House on Haunted Hill" -- number one in theaters last
weekend, and PURE DRECK! Or "SuperStar" -- another truly stupid "SNL"
spinoff. As long as people continue to go see crap like these movies,
Hollywood will continue to churn them out!
