All i can say for The Game, was it was an original idea. Other than
that i did not find this movie enjoyable at all. Actually i found it
annoying and when it was finally over i didn't feel relief...i felt
anger. I was so revved up, i wanted to punch somebody. That wasn't
living, that was playing with your life, living it in fear.

Subject: [MV] Alien 3
I sincerely do not mean to be tacky or rude with this post, but I must
respond to the post about Alien 3. Who cares about possible changes to the
ending? It was the wrong film to begin with. It was the wrong story from
start to screwed up finish. That series peaked with Aliens and has been
hopelessly misguided since then. Who cares if they have awesome special
effects (which they all do) or great cinematography (which they all do) or
good acting (which they all do). Neither 3 nor 4 have been the right story
to follow 2.
I personally consider Aliens my favorite science fiction film of all time.
I truly wish that 3 or 4 could have eclipsed it, but neither even came
close. They were simply the wrong story. Now there is news of 5 and
possibly even 6 and again they will get even further off course by the
continuation of the Wynona Ryder character. Ripley was a good character to
continue, but so was Hicks. Ryder's character is not. Period.
I forced myself to go to 3 and 4 simply to see the special effects. Judging
from some of the posts to this forum, this is probably considered blasphemy
in some quarters. I, however, consider this a perfectly good reason to see
a film in and of itself. Yet I can't help but wish that I had seen a good
story along with the dazzling special effects in 3 and 4. I know I will end
up wishing the same thing after 5.
To my way of thinking the only way to rectify this situation is to start the
next film with a disclaimer which reads something like the following:
The producers wish to apologize for the drivel we passed off as
Alien 3 and Alien 4. We realize now that we were wrong. Please
accept our apologies and forget that we ever released those films.
Alien 5 will now take up the story where Aliens left off and we can
all continue from there.
Hicks' character and even Newt's could come back as they should have in 3
and we could all pretend that this franchise never got so completely
off-track.

Actually the whole point was that this instalment went south so far as =
the storyline was concerned - darkness or lack thereof is irrelevant.
The point of creating sequels is to tap into the enormous audiences =

I recently saw Ever After this past weekend. I found it to be so
wonderful. I was expecting to get a little confused with such an ancient
time setting, but I was completely wrong. Drew Barrymore did a wonderful
job portraying Cinderella (well a Cinderella-type, since her character
wasnt named Cinderella). I thought that Anjelica Huston did a good job
being that antagonist too.
It was such a great movie, I recommend it with a 10 out of 10! Any
comments??

can you imagine for one second what the Star Wars trilogy (possibly =
best series of films) would have been like if after Empire Strikes Back, =
Fincher had the helm and decided that he would kill off Chewbacca, R2 =
and 3PO and send Luke and Leia to fuck on a prison =
planet????!!!!!!!!!!!!???????
Would THAT have been okay????
=20
Sounds good to me!!! I dont actually think much of the"Star wars" =
trilogy. Yes, they were films of their era but I find them shallow and =
rather childish. I would have totally revelled in the fact that main =
characters got bumped off as I am fed up with Hollywood's uptight =
attitude to main characters. Would it not add to the thrill that if =
Chewbacca had been killed there was a chance Luke etc. could have been, =
thus adding to the excitement/danger? I do. As for Alien3 I am not =
saying it is a good film.....I just think it is better than some sequels =
and could have been even better if it had not been tampered with. It is =
Hollywoods fear of originality that spawns the endless rehashings of =
ideas that leads to the cheapening of a whole series.
