"Beyond Therapy" is an Excellent Play, though. It's just a shame that Robert
Altman sucks as a director as he seems to feel that everyone should act boring
and melancholy in all his films. Aside from the suprise flick "Popeye"
(thanks, no doubt, to Mr. Robin Williams brilliance), Robert Altman just can't
seem to get the hang of directing. [Please don't tell me "the Player" was a
courageous and masterful film]

i'm of the theory that David Lynch really didn't direct this film. I have the
strangest feeling that someone pretending to be David Lynch snuck in directed
the way he thought David Lynch would have directed a film and then snuck away.
The film seems to say "THIS IS A DAVID LYNCH FILM: SEE HOW WEIRD IT IS"
Weird? yeah; confusing? i guess; good? maybe. It doesn't seem to matter.
The only thing "Lost Highway" did, was make me want to run out and watch "Wild
at Heart" which is Lynch's best movie by far. And, of course, Nicholas Cage
does a great Elvis, which is always cool, too.

would agree that you can think a long time about it. I could not state
what it was all about, but it is pretty strange. David Lynch did a great
job when he was playing with the "suggested violence": you do not see
how something violent happens, you just see Fred with blood in the face,
the man lying there with the table in his head etc.
The end is left open, but I interpret it as follows: the auto-mechanic
(Billy was his name, right ?) is changing into Fred again. Therefore the
police won't arrest him for killing Mr Eddy, and he will return home and
have his wife back again - everything will be just like in the
beginning. All he experienced was like a horror-trip - maybe that's why
the soundtrack has "The Perfect Drug" by Trent Reznor on it.
By the way, the soundtrack is tremendous.
Yours truly,
Jakob >>

I'm a big David Lynch fan and I really enjoyed Lost Highway. In my opinion,
the more you think about the movie and try to figure it out the less you
will like it. This is the reason I liked it. I don't think there are two
people who will come to the same conclusion after watching the movie.
The best Lynch movie, in my opinion, is Blue Velvet. Dennis Hopper's best
film by far.

Just saw a promo for Mortal Kombat:Annihilation on PPV. This got me thinking.
I wonder what is considered the greatest martial arts movie ever made .
Does anyone know of any surveys done on this?
My guess would be Bruce Lee's Enter The Dragon, but that's just my opinion.

I just saw Les Miserable today- it's a good movie and of higher quality
than most of the movies I have seen recently. Claire Danes isn't bad, Liam
Neesan (sp?) is good as Jean Valjean. Jeoffrey Rush (Javert) and Uma
Thurman (Fontaine... sp?) were good also. It was slightly slow, but
remained good. If I hadn't already known the book (I don't know the
musical) I think that would have changed things. I'm not really sure how
clear some parts of it would be to someone who didn't know the plot- but
then, at the same time, they probably would have a much more open mind...

Marginal thumbs up. I'm not into horror movies. However, I sort of liked
this. Similar in tone to Event Horizon, I thought.
(For the record, I've been calling EH a cross between Outland and Alien)

Awesome special effects do not a ridiculously cheesy movie save.
thumbs down. Although if you mute the sound so as not to hear the dialogue
and ignore the plot, the visuals are fun to watch.

Now that most of the work is done regarding the introduction of
our five new charts, we would like you to tell us what we should
be doing next. Some of you hinted at introducing more pages and
features on the website, while others want even more new lists.
We can also start spending more time on the voting engine, giving
you more control and possibilities in the voting process. Please
tell us what you think that we should be doing. Maybe you can
give us some fresh ideas we haven't heard earlier.
Jurgen.
