fella named Ed Geen who lived in Wisconsin and liked to wear women's skin

I liked this one, too. When I was a kid, I always thought the beginning
was to long and boring. When I watch the movie today I realize I was
right. They should have cut the first half in half and got us right into
the Chocalate Factory! That's when the fun really began!! BTW: What was
up with Charlies bed ridden family?? Those old people laying in one bed
all the time?? I wonder how they changed the sheets, among other things??

The great thing about that movie is it is one of the few movies which
both adults and children can enjoy.
If you notice, there are several lines in the film which are meant for
adults. One is "Candy is dandy, but liquor is
quicker". I also agree with your assessment of Gene Wilder. He makes
it look effortless, doesn't he? Most critics bashed "Another You",
but you know what? I don't care! I liked that film also!!! Gene Wilder and
Richard Pryor were quite a funny team. Willy Wonka was definitely a classic.

No, you are very right. As Graeme pointed out, I misspoke. The point that
I tried to get across (and did a terrible job of) is that M influenced
Hitchcock's version of Psycho, and has also been called "the Psycho of its

Apologies for not being more clear in my post:-)

Hi Chris!
I hope you don't mind a respectful disagreement here. You are right in
saying that Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles were great. They were
two of Mel Brooks best and a friend and I quote some of the scenes to each
other frequently. We also liked High Anxiety. But to call Robin Hood lame
is wrong. At least IMHO. It is one of my son's favorites. He and his
friends watch it often and they quote scenes like my friend and I do with
MB's other shows. It seems as though Mr Brooks ability to reach different
generations shows great talent on his part. I regret that he hasn't made
more movies and I haven't heard of him making any more recently. His
inactivity is our loss. He remains to me one of my favorites.
Only my 2$ worth,
Melody

Ermmm, Mel, I seriously doubt this is true --- "Psycho" was a novel first,
written by the great psychological-horror author Robert Bloch. I didn't
think
there was actually much similarity between the plot or tone of the two
stories.

No disrespect intended. I feel that Mel is one of the funniest producers
to ever come out of Hollywood. I didn't really like Men in Tights perhaps
because I've been numbed to the type of Humor exemplified in Men in Tights
by similiar (yet IMHO better) movies by the likes of the Zuker brothers.
Movies like Young Frankenstien just seemed "smarter" then some of his later
stuff (agian IMHO).
I guess I'm just getting old. Maybe starting to fall into that generation
gap of comedy (ex: I never did understand the humor of Bob Hope, but my
parents love him). If Mel can keep up with the comedy of a new generation,
God love em!

Im collecting goofs from the Motion picture : Titanic
If any of you have located mistakes in the film, and/ or know of a site
where such information is available, kindly forward the same to me at
the earliest. Would be extremely grateful for any such info. An example
of the kind of goofs Im looking for is given below:
1. The hands sketching Rose are clearly too old to belong to Jack
Dawson. They actually belong to Director Cameron.
2. When Jack is handcuffed at the Master-At-Arms Office, there is a
porthole in the wall next to which he is standing. In the real vessel,
this room was a chamber in the interior / central area of the ship and
could hence have no porthole.

another Titanic goof-
The lake that Jack Dawson mentions ice fishing on- I can't remember its
name- is actually a man made lake that was created in 1916, which, of
course, was after the Titanic sank.

Graeme -
Thanks for the info. It shall be passed onto the film lecturer here at
CQU. But, gee, who'd have thought that people in Canberra could be useful
for something? (For the rest of the planet who don't know - Canberra is
tbe capital of Oz and where most of our politicians are.)
I'll check it out soon.
Thanks
Lillian.
