just a question.

Is it by choice that so far none of you have mentioned any recent
mainstream major comedies? By this I mean box-office and
retrospective hits like American Pie, Austin Powers I & II, Dumb &
Dumber, etc. Or is it just coincidence that none of these crack you
up?

While I don't favour any of these over some of the ones mentioned so
far, I was just curious as to whether we are now seeing a mainstream
Hollwood revolt over its comedies (or could it be against the whole
culture down there?)

Regards,
thus far. I know you Smith fans are all out there, there's plenty of
them worldwide!!

Here is my list ranking his best films (of the four well known ones):

1. Mallrats (nothing beats the 'stinkpalm')
2. Dogma (Jay and Silent Bob rock in this one)
3. Clerks (a movie with no action but a sweeeeeet script makes the
piece a classic)
4. Chasing Amy (by no means a bad film, it just gets a little mushy
at times. And besides, Joey Lauren Adams rocks)

Of the other comedies mentioned, I reckon Mighty Aphrodite has to be
up there with the funniest, if only for the bumbling Woody Allen and
the delightful Mira Sorvino.

Don't forget Major League as well!! The sequel wasn't that bad
either, even though Major League: Back to The Minors is one of the
worst films I have ever seen.

Cheers.
