I finally got to read the book a couple weeks ago- on a plane ride to NYC
actually:)
I read it cover to cover. With my training in critical reading in anthro I
always had to find some point to criticise. All I can say is that I
thoroughly enjoyed the book.
Here's a good quote (p.169):
Music (or any other creative form) allows people a space to purge
themselves, or creates a space for catharsis or release. As a
result, creative contemplation can be as addictive as church confession
(James 2001:169).
- -I don't know if this has been mentioned already but the 18th letter in the
alphabet looks like an H and means "life" in Israel. People sometimes where
this letter as an emblem such as on a pendant.
- -I read somewhere that one of the people in the video is Corey
Feldman....yeah.....from "lord of the flies"?
Love and Life,
Sharmila

If you still haven't heard the REAL 'We are all made of stars' go to this
site, scroll down to exclusives and click on the link for the clip. I hear a
bit of a dream pop influence in this clip of the song...I'm feeling it. Hope
this helps. -Kelly

Hi there,
We are all made of ... troubles ;-) For those of you with trouble
accessing the ftp-site, here's an HTTP-link:
http://www.basalt.dds.nl/mobility/stars.mp3
Right-click, Save as, etc.
If I find out that this link is exported to people beyond the mobility
list, I'll disable it.
Cheers,
Rob

Elie,
it's not a site. It's only a file.
http://www.basalt.dds.nl/mobility/stars.mp3
Just click on the link in this e-mail message with the RIGHTHAND(!!)
mouse button, and choose "Save Link As...".
(At least, that's what Netscape Messenger is showing. I don't know about
other e-mail programs, but it should be similar.)
Then pick a folder on your harddisk where you want it to be saved.
That's all.
Good luck,
Rob
