  30. Off the top of my head, the FSR 10" I have is all black with a black sleeve, 
  31. and has FSR (EIW album version on one side) and the Ray Keith mix on the 
  32. b-side. I'll check for specifics tonight when I get home.

  43. oi there mobilites,
  44. was wondering if any of you out there had either of the feeling so real
  45. 10"s (especially the soapbar release) and would let us (me and bart) know
  46. what the etchings around the labels say, and the label colors and what
  47. sleve it came in. we're trying to do a little deductive reasoning about
  48. these releases.
  49. as close as we can tell at this point, there were 3 versions of the mute
  50. 10", the first got released, the second got ditched, the third got
  51. liscenced to soapbar, and went through at least 3 pressings, one or more
  52. of which may of been promos. all we've encountered so far are purple on
  53. one side and black on the other, tho it varies which is the printed a-side
  54. and blank b-side by pressing...

  125. the catalog# L12MUTE161   (the same cat# as my 2-sided copy)  In what kind
  126. of sleeve does it come?(the custom black Moby sleeve like my 2-sided copy?)
  127. and any idea if this 1-sided-ness is intentional or a missprint?

  164. as far as we can figgure, the etching on that release (the 10mute173)
  165. should have something like "the exchange - nilz" and "10 mute 173 *A"
  166. (where "*" is B scratched out), and same, but B for A, on the b-side.
  167. if it's not, let us know, it could be further clues. :)

  204. That's Hymn, right?  I just auctioned that off a little while ago. 
  205. It is indeed a mispress.  I ordered it from Mute Bank and didn't 
  206. notice for a while that it was only one sided (oops!).  I wrote them 
  207. to ask for a 2-sided copy, but they were out of print, so they 
  208. refunded me some money, I believe.  So it should be identical to the 
  209. 2-sided L12MUTE161 release in terms of sleeve.  My 1-sided copy had 
  210. two label stickers, one of which was loose and the other affixed to 
  211. the wrong side.  Very confusing!

  236. having a festival celebrating 150 yrs. of "Moby Dick"
  237. (1851) on Nov. 3 and a very expensive dinner the nite
  238. before (both which appear to require reservations).
  239. It's going to be a pretty big deal with Melville
  240. scholars (& authors of Moby Dick/Melville related
  241. books) all over the place giving these lectures, plus
  242. Gene Hackman & Patrick Stewart, screenings of "Moby
  243. Dick" film adaptations &, of course, a book sale
  244. (though I doubt much variety will be sold there).  
  245. But music is provided by "the Sea Chantey
  246. performers"...hmmm :(  You'd think someone else would
  247. be more appropriate for such an event...I mean DUH!  I
  248. wonder what Moby knows about this whole event.  Well
  249. it figures since the SFMNP is really into monthly
  250. chanty singing ("Our mission is to 'bring maritime
  251. history to life'").  But I'm sure Moby could've
  252. grabbed some samples of traditional seamen songs &
  253. added a good twist.  Maybe a beat you can dance to...

  274. i need to know if any of you have a way of getting a hold of moby
  275. directly. if so, i need you to get a message through to him to get in
  276. touch with me. his over-controlling management has sent their
  277. flunkies at warner chappel to try'n shut down mobymusic.com's search
  278. resources in the name of moby, which goes against everything moby himself
  279. has publicly said regarding provision of audio materials online. it's
  280. especially rediculous since it's all streaming, not downloadable, purely
  281. promoting the material. i need to talk to moby about this and get it
  282. straightened out, because his management would prolly keep him in the
  283. dark about it all until it's too late.
  284. if all my work gets killed off by controling beurocratic bullshit it'll be
  285. the end of all this for me, and that might just finish me off for good.
