Wow, Vivian, you're very welcome. The album isn't out yet (October 16 is the date), but I've gotten to hear a lot of it (thanks to devious internet methods - shame on me until I'm redeemed by purchasing it) & a lot of the songs sound oddly familiar, like comfy slippers.
I'm still a little confused at some people I saw during New Order's show at Area:One in SF. One girl was even plugging her ears and doing math homework during the show!!! Unbelievable! As if you get to see New Order all the time or something...
Even if you didn't quite like the music, it was a lot of fun just to watch Bernard hop on one leg, punching the air & randomly yelling "woo!" & then mentioning his 'rather large dick' in between songs. It was also cute when he embarrased Billy Corgan (unsuccesfully trying to be incognito) by telling everyone how he helped write some new songs with them & even played a guitar solo all by himself (hee hee).
I'll pass along another thanks to Sharmila. That "Romeo" video just made my day. Even though Basement Jaxx is usually lacking something for me music-wise, I really like all of their videos that I've seen so far (Mexican Lucha Libre wresslers loosing at a rockpaperscissors duel is genius - "Rendez-vous").

hehe... right before the best male vid award was lady
marmalade, so i had to go out of the room and vomit...
and when i came back i missed moby winning an award.
SHIT!
i was watching this at school, in the auditorium
("movie night" with free pizza and soda! :) and i was
sitting next to a bunch of RABID u2 fans. eep. i kept
quiet ;)
but after they won some lifetime achievement award,
they presented something to The Ramones, and the
surviving members came out onstage and crap! fucking
awesome!!!!! i was cheering and clapping and making
lots of noise, and everyone looked at me weird. i cant
believe it, nobody in my college has heard of the
ramones? I HATE MY SCHOOL!!!!!!! my god, even in high
school there were tons of ramones fans there. damn.
they messed up twice, hehe. they were gonna do jay-z's
performance, and then moby and gwen and eve came out.
haha.
and fuck! MUDVAYNE won the mtv2 award?!?!?! Gorillaz
so deserved that. i voted for them a million times on
the website. fuck!
of course, maybe they disqualified gorillaz cause they
were cartoons or something ;) how could they do an
acceptance speech? that wouldve been cool tho...
anyway, mtv sux so who cares.
the big missy statue was scary. and i like missy. i
like the fact that her hair is so un-hip hop. she's
like the laurie anderson of hip-hop.
and also, the entire room was silent when they did the
aaliyah tribute in the beginning. i guess that's a
good thing, but nobody seemed too sad or anything. oh
well. i miss her.
ROCK!
