POEM BY SARAH JONES: YOUR REVOLUTION
"Your revolution will not happen between these thighs,
The real revolution ain`t about booty size,
The versace`s you buys, or the Lexus you drives,
And though we`ve lost Biggie Smalls,
Baby your notorious revolution will never allow you to
lace your lyrical douche,
In my bush,
Your revolution will not be you killing me softly with
Fugees,
Your revolution ain`t gonna knock me up without no
ring,
and produce little future emcees,
Because that revolution will not happen between these
thighs,
Your revolution will not find me in the back seat of a
jeep,
With LL, hard as hell, you know, doin` it and doin it
and doin` it well,
Your revolution will not be you smackin` it up,
flippin` it or rubbin` it down,
Nor will it take you downtown, or humpin` around,
Because that revolution will not happen between these
thighs.
Your revolution will not have me singin` "Ain`t no
nigga like the one I got",
Your revolution will not be you sending me for no drip drip VD shot,
Your revolution will not involve me feeling of
nature-ized or helping you fantisize,
Because that revolution will not happen between these thighs,
No not between these thighs,
Oh, my Jamaican brother, your revolution will not make me feel boombastic,
And really fantastic and have you ropin` in the dark for that rubber rapped
in plastic,
Enh, Enh
You will not be touching your lips to my triple dip Of french vanilla butter
pecan chocolate deluxe,
Or havin` Akineyle`s dream, Mm, hm..a six foot blowjob machine,
You want to subjugate your Queen?
Think I`ma put it in my mouth, just because you made a
few bucks?
Please, brother please
Your revolution will not be me tossing my weave, And making me believe, I`m
some caviar eating ghetto mafia clown,
Or me giving up my behind,
Just so I can get signed,
And maybe have somebody else, write my rhymes,
I`m Sarah Jones, not Foxy Brown,
I`m Sarah Jones, not Foxy Brown.
Your revolution makes me wonder where could we go,
If we could drop the empty pursuit of props and the ego,
We`d revolt back to our Roots,
Use a little Common Sense,
On a Quest to make Love,
De La Soul, no pretense, but
Your revolution will not be you flexing,
Your little set and status,
To express what you feel,
Your revolution will not happen between these thighs,
Your revolution will not happen between these thighs,
Will not be you shaking and me...
(yawn) faking between these thighs,
Because the real revolution,
The real revolution,
I`m talking about the revolution, when it comes,
It`s going to be real,
Yeah, it`s going to be real."
There you go. Not really sure why a radio station would get fined for this,
but anyway.

hehe... gotta make this mobyrelated somehow :)
basically, "it wasnt me" is about finding yr best
friend fucking yr girlfriend. he even says "butt naked
on the bathroom floor" in the song. and it fucking
goes to number 1 and nobody bats an eye. and this
sarah jones song is actually pretty tame from what my
friend said (sorry, i've only heard it once and i
forgot how it goes ;) and shit like this gets played
all the time on noncommercial radio, and the radio
station gets fined for playing it. fuck, i think i'll
play this on my next show! (if the version on xen cuts
is like this... maybe it's a different version than
the one that was played... i guess the version on
gilles patterson's mix cd is not that explicit
either...)
anyway. i just graduated yesterday, and ran around
frantically trying to find this girl i'd had a huge
crush on, so i could say goodbye to her. i couldnt
find her for a while. finally i found her, and hugged
her, and told her i'd miss her. and she was smiling as
much as i was, so it was all good. but now, i really
wished i'd said more to her, told her i loved her,
asked to get in touch, etc. i'm feeling better now
tho. i think the "screw it! you don't need her! you'll
find someone better than her at college!" voices in my
head are coming back ;) and i'm even starting to think
that i'll see her again. or at least hear from her.
but fuck... i felt so terrible last night and this
morning.
anyway
ROCK!!!!!!
paul (not dj paul anymore... i still have a radio
show, but i don't see the use of calling myself dj paul...)

According to the programming guide on my DirecTV, Moby is scheduled to be on
Letterman tonight, as is Ewan McGregor... this may be a re-run, but as they
say, it's new to me... of course, my DirecTV guide has been known to be wrong
before.. but in any case, thought I'd give a quick heads-up to anyone who may
get this in time.
Hope everyone's doing well...

<DIV>We had discussed this at the radio station that I work at. I think that it is completely wrong that the station was fined because of the song. I have heard the song and there is no way that it can be considered vulgar when Shaggy, Nelly, Eminem, Limp Bizkit etc...are played on commercial radio. It makes me worry because I play some very political stuff on my radio show that I could possibly be fined for. (stuff from the Manic Street Preachers to Screwball). </DIV>

Nope it was brand new and a beautiful performance. Moby at the piano and a
live male and female vocalist with a backup choir performing "Why Does My
Heart Feel So Bad". Awesome performance.
Letterman also had the Play DVD in his hand, bastard :) Just kidding I love
Dave but can't wait for that DVD.

Agreed. I was especially impressed by the two vocalists you mentioned. Does
anyone know their names, and if either or both of them will be on the Area:
One tour? Wasn't sure I liked the choir, but I definitely loved the full
string section.. assuming they were really playing, and it wasn't just synths
that were piped in, with the players there for effect. I say that because it
sounded nearly perfect, almost a little *too* good to be real.
Did you catch Moby on the couch afterward, showing Dave one of his drawings?
Was cute.
