Subject: (mobility) COACHELLA!!!
Oh my GOD I cannot contain my glee right now!!! All the official info on Coachella2 was just posted this morning, yes like TODAY!:
http://208.242.114.231/coachella/
Remember how they were taking requests? Well I asked for the Orb & for Iggy Pop even though I thought Iggy would be WAY out there, but I got what I asked for!!! Woohoo! This is better than Christmas!!!
Anyway, Jane's Addiction, Del the Funky Homosapien, Roni Size Reprazement, Chemical Brothers...
but where's Moby??? I heard from 2 sources before today that he'd be there & I wasn't surprised since he said he had loved being at the first Coachella, but now he's not? Hmmm...
I'll still get to see Iggy strut his stuff!
love&implosions of massive excitement,
malfunctiongirl
"Gonna tell my friends, gonna tell them all that I'm a wild one" (that line always cracked me up)

Is anybody here into Jeff Mills? He played at the State Theatre last night here in Detroit (last time i went there it was to see Mooooooooooooby). It was amazing how he was set up on the stage behind a huge white block with him in the middle and purple and green lights. What was really cool about the show was that he played a variety of styles of music just all over the place throughout the show. Sometimes he would have a totally old school block where he would play dance songs from the 80s and then the 90s and then fuse them with some jungle and some housey build ups. He also played a lot of his fusions with German techno that he did for Tresor which is like a compilation of "detroit and german techno brought together". There was a really nice crowd at the show too. Many different people from different walks of life. It was really nice for me to go see too after having taken three exams yesterday. He cancelled his show last year because not that many people bought ticket!
s or whatever but i think that h
e's a lot more popular in the entertainment scene because the detroit electronic music festival brought the detroit techno scene into the open for more people to listen to.
Anyway, I'm at work right now so I should be more ethical and get off the web...
love, sharmi

Subject: (mobility) one good thing about the grammies:
they increased awareness of moby!
play is now number 40 on the top 200 album charts...
even higher than (hehe) steely dan's album! ;P
and south side is 25 on the hot 100 (!) and 4 on the
"modern" "rock" charts.
Wowee Zowee!
No, pavement isn't on the chart silly.... but Steve
Malkmus's album is somewhere on the indie charts... ;)
And I think Tortoise's new one may've cracked the top
200...
well anyway
ROCK!
