Here's an album recommendation for everyone:
The Avalanches - "Since I left You". They're from Australia (on Modular in
Oz, XL in the UK). Imagine French group Air, but cut up on turntables. Kind
of easy listening turntablism. Funky but emotional. Very cool, well worth
searching out.

I ws listening to live in darmstadt (sorry if that is
sp) anyway, I noticed that in live performances moby
often screams what seems to be the same phrase during
the building intro of songs like james bond etc... As
far as I can tell by the number of syllables it's
always the same phrase, but it's unintelligable to me.
Anyone know what he's screaming?

I finally got the underwater bonus cd from the
original everything is wrong release! I had been
building it up to my roomates etc... and when I popped
in the cd, they were kind of dumbfounded. I knew it
was ambient stuff like hymn alt. quiet version, but
they had no idea and didn't really know what to say...
amusing. I loved it though, the extreme minimalistic
noise sets the stage for the surreal power of the few
simple strings in the piece. Very nice.

I'm curious if anyone has ever heard about moby's
creative process. How does he come across the samples
he uses, and how does he go about putting them
together. Does he just get a bunch of stuff together
and start experimenting, or does he have an idea in
his mind before he starts? it would interest me to know...
