Dear Mister Bourke, Thank you for that rampage on the obvious. Thank you also for openly assuming & jumping into a big discourse just because you didn't read what I wrote. It would've been enlightening, but I've been paying attention to this reoccuring discussion for the almost 2 years I've been here. Someone wrote that they didn't think commercials helped sell records & I responded that I think they do. Personally I don't like hearing music I love on commercials, and I wrote my reason. Read it again, it'll be on the mobility archives soon if you erased it. It had nothing to do with government or hippie teachers or toilet paper. And should I NOT hate any fascet of corporate America & capitalism just because I have no way out of it if I still want to be 'civilized' (feel the irony there) & am therefore a hypocrite? Just calm down, I've said before how complex it must be for Moby to have to make such important decisions (in what he has control over) while having a passionate conscience. Now I have to go, because - as you've probably assumed already - I have to do 40 hours worth of research on PMS medicine, right? I am working on only 30 minutes of sleep last night so things aren't making too much sense to me at this time. Social prejudices would be based on economic standing, while racism would strictly be based on race. At least that is how I distinguish between the two. Either way, I see things getting worse before things get better. the banality of evil in the world is not being helped any by the media. We are bombarded everyday with racial slurs on the radio, tv, and movies. I am not one to blame media for problems in the world, but they haven't helped out the situation any. It has become such common place to hear and see prejudiced remarks in the media that we don't even flinch when it happens. I mean this doesn't just stop with prejudices, but it goes as far as swearing, sex, and violence. There is nothing that I hear or see anymore that really shocks me. It was so shocking to hear of kids in school killing each other, but now it is more like, there was another school shooting today in Anycity, USA <yawn> <change the channel>. Do you see what I am getting at? No I am not Pro-censorship, but I think media companies need to take a step back and really look closely at the crap that they have been pounding into us for years. Anyway, if this is not making any sense remember I have only had 30 minutes of sleep. So I will get off of my soap box now. I am too tired to try to make this Moby related.
