Its probably been done before and this illustrates the PC double standard in
American society. Its considered racist and wrong for whites to poke fun at
blacks but when blacks do it to whites/white culture then its perfectly
fine, in fact profitable. How many improv comics have rocketed to stardom
in both the black AND white communities because of this bullshit?

Interesting to note however, that blacks are just as responsible, if not
more so, for creating this sub-cultural schism. Any "wigger" that tries to
engage in black culture is ostricized by both groups. However I don't think
that blacks that try to assimilate into white culture (ie speak the kings
english, don't get into black pop-culture) are at least a little more
accepted by the white culture, if only reluctantly. Ultimately however,
there is a voluntary segragation by both races, I don't know how it is at
other colleges/states, but most of the places I've been blacks and whites
don't really hang out together, eat at the same tables in the lunch rooms,
or anything like that. I don't think its really rooted in racism however, I
think it actually stems from this same cultural schism.

I think we all do if we are on a listserv for Moby.

here is what the site say this morning:
The beat of a new generation. The music of the new millennium.
Your voice has been heard!
Brought to you by Ford Focus.

Congratulations to Chemical Brothers for winning the first-ever Best of =

Here are the final results:
Moby 39.33 % Bio=20
Chemical Brothers 57.14 % Bio=20
Fatboy Slim 3.51 %=20

I didn't realize the awards were on tonight, does this mean that Chemical

to put 'responsibility' on the happening of
cultural difference is still keeping the
difference there. this isn't an us vs. them
issue, it's just a cultural happening. the fact
that at my school the philosophy people get
together and don't sit with other white kids, or
the math people, or the computer kids, etc, ad
nauseum... act in that way, we don't take notice.
but if the difference in skin color is noticed,
then we see some great cultural schism. i don't
buy it. any 'wigger' that tries to fit into a
group of black men is usually ostracized by
'them' because they simply aren't like that
culturally.

again, forget race, see roles in society. in
some of the rural towns, you still have this
happening in that black people, relatively new to
a region, stick together and see hate because
that's all they've known all their life. to most
people in cities, etc... race is irrelevant if
someone wants to join that echelon in society. i
welcome people into my midst who perform the same
roles as i do. everyone else is irrelevant
unless in dire need.

race is such a silly concept since it deals with
a physical attribute of skin color. silly.
however, i attribute this much the same way you
do, as a happening. there's nothing significant,
nothing to 'fix'. the general homogenizing
effect of the planet will bring everyone to be
one culture with subtle difference eventually.
we are in the midst of an assimilation process in
the world, as new cultures are branching out to
one another, and different roles in society are
coming into contact and learning from one
another. it's a very dynmaic time.

..I have to agree with Anne. The strings are
excellent! And as far as Ms. Chamberlain? She has an
incredible voice, and has done some amazing things
with Moby live (the show I saw in S.F., she was
phenomenal). It only shows Moby's insistence on
pushing himself as a performer and constantly tryng to
change the sound of the band. I think he's very
willing to try different and new things, especially in
the live format, and doesn't want to stick to one
single type of live band. Good for him!
Experimentation is a wonderful thing. Not everyone
will like it, but it's his band...
