Someone needs to seriously calm down or get off the list because you
will be getting ALOT of email regarding many different topics either
relating or unrelating to Moby. Being pissy about it won't get you
anywhere.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! And now I'm a God. Well if I am God - you are a saint in
my book, dawg. But wait a minute, how could God worship one of his own
creations? (Moby) Hmmmm, an interesting point. Do you think God worships
Moby and listens to him on a daily basis? (IF THERE IS A GOD)
And BTW, Matt shall be given all the hot women in the world and a
lifetime supply of Tang. So says Eric the Red.

Which only led to a rebellion by me at first, but then I just realized that
while it didn't hurt me to be put through this stuff, it obviously wasn't
fair because I was never given the choice to be religious. Probably one of
the key reasons for why I'm not now. I don't think anyone has the right to
make others believe in what they believe in, or force their religion down
someone's throat.

Subject: Re: (mobility) NME MERGING WITH MELODY MAKER?!?!?
As a one-time contributing editor at Melody Maker I have to say I think this
is a very sad day. With the loss of Select a few weeks ago it seems that the
UK press is narrowing to the point where the exciting new and fresh artists
will have no outlet in the press. The Melody Maker may have been utter shit
in its final couple of years, but never forget that they were the one's who
first featured Moby in the UK (MNE soon followed), first featured The
Prodigy, first featured The Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Leftfield, Fatboy
Slim...the jungle/ drum'n'bass scenes, rave culture... oh, and for any rock
kids out there, they were also the first to cover Nirvana... jn fact this
list is endless. Even the pop kids got a look in as the Maker did All Saints
first. Oh, and the hip hop fans with Public Enemy and so on...
Sadly for The Maker, and many other UK music media, they stopped listening
to what the people wanted and just attempted to run the show themselves. The
first thing to go was the good journalism, the second was the sense of
adventure, the third was the awareness of the outside world, and finally the
last thing to go was the paper itself (after 74 friggin' years!). The losers
as ever will be us the music fans. NME haven't featured a new band (who
turned out to be influential) first for years (traditionally The Maker was
the breaking ground, the NME took bands to the next level).
I know the internet does the job better these days, but I will miss the days
of getting my copy of The Maker (and Sounds, the best of all that was
murdered about ten years ago), reading about new music and discovering more
stuff than the radio (or TV) could ever throw at me.
MM RIP
That's all... the Moby book's nearly finished by the way. I'm looking for a
good title. Anyone got any ideas?
