the problem with western religion is that it's
turned into a game of my god can beat up your
god. it's pathetic, really. we have jews and
muslims beating each other senseless, christians
roaming the planet trying to disrupt and convert
all cultures to be like europe/america. add to
this their inability to even consider other
points of view (on all fundamentalist sides of
course), and you have a big mess.

it's not that the animal dies in giving up the
goods, but that it came from an animal that goes
against vegan principles. to a vegan, the
silkworm is being exploited to provide a
luxury... bad news for silk-buyers! karma karma
karma karma karma chameleon...
hence, why vegans won't drink milk, eat cheese,
or use honey. curious how moby made a song
called honey (based on the lyric, i know) and
schaumgummi which is reference to marshmellows
(made with gelatin, or ground up animal bones for
all you who are not 'in the know').
ugh... vegetarianism - all the taste without the
guilt or the fat!

but in doing so, you are helping all the digest
subscribers out. perhaps paully-boy wasn't being
that altruistic when making his recommendation,
but as the studies show, more people do care that
all sorts of header/footer garbage is kept when
it can be easily erased. it's ettiquette,
something that you can throw to the side as you will.

ayup. had a gig last night, in fact. it was a
college party, so there was a lot of booty bass
and hip-pop, but otherwise, a lot of fun. i
played some disco/french/funky house and the
crowd went nuts... really cool.

I thought the exact same thing. I saw the clip and just thought, "Wow.
Bizarre." I can't even begin to imagine how odd it must look to see the whole
performance.
How long til we see Moby's current gym shoes on eBay? :-)

I don't know about Ibanez or Rockafile, but I think at least one of the makes
he plays in that carlos whatever stuff... Though I forget if you wanted to know
just the southside guitar or what. Ok, obviously, I'm out of my element here.

All I ask is that listmembers aren't attacked or criticised for their beliefs,
namely ones that don't pertain to the topic at hand. This is escalating in a
big way, so I'll happily suggest that we move on and hold hands and sing
Kumbaya and eat s'mores. :-)

PS I didn't snip everything as a slight to you, I just wasn't really addressing
anything specific within the email, so I figured there wasn't much of a point
to quoting any of it.
Time to take a sabbatical.

Subject: (mobility) and that's all i have to say about that
can i tell you guys what i just did? i just typed a page and a half email
to the list and deleted it. i was just getting things off my chest that have
been bugging me about or discussions/arguments, etc. (nothing personal or
angry, just... full of assertiveness!) but i didn't think y'all would be
interested in hearing my thoughts on gwen, silk, religion, etc. the only
lines i would like to pass on are these...
i hate the fact that this listserv is SO argumentative, but i came to the
conclusion that heated debate is unavoidable when this many passionate
people get together.
matt et al who are in the debate about unnecessary quoting: go on digest
mode for just like a week and you will see what we mean. if no one is
opposed, it might be cool for someone who is on digest to re-post one entire
digest, so that everyone else can see what we mean... becuase i know it
sounds like we are just being picky, but it is REALLY hard to decifer what
is a new post and what isn't (it's not a matter of being able to read
emails)...
