Even with the dumbest man alive as our president next
year, it will still be a pretty good year:


BREEDERS HERALD NEW ALBUM WITH SECRET SHOW

After a five-year layoff, the BREEDERS returned to the
stage Tuesday
night for an unannounced show at the Los Angeles
nightclub Mr. T's Bowl.
KIM and KELLY DEAL played a brief, eleven-song set
that included two
new tunes, "Put On a Side" and "Fire the Maid."
According to the
Breeders' label, 4AD, the band is planning a return to
the studio in January
with producer STEVE ALBINI to begin work on a new
album, tentatively
scheduled for a summer release.

First, I kinda agree about the Gwen Southside. It just
doesnt do anything for me. Why ruin something that was
good the first time? Maybe the remixes are better.....

Second, I just heard Sunday recently. Great song.
Shoulda been on Play I say.

Third, Sunday and a sample from Go appear on some mix
cds I got recently. They're by General Musician, who
some of you might recognize as Jamesbee if yr on the
Astralwerks Message Board, and he's selling his 15 cd
Superdisc sets, 6 cds of his own music and 9 cds of
Robustblend mix cds. And Go is on the 1st one and
Sunday is on the 7th I believe. or maybe 6th. 8th?
something like that. And the best part is (besides the
fact that its all good music, mostly) that you can get
all of this for 15 bucks. 10 bucks if you want just 2
discs with all MP3s of it all. So um email him at
[e-mail] for info I guess... or go
to dj pagan's homepage and look for the page he wrote
about him..... um.......

Lastly, I discovered Half Japanese recently. Jad Fair
is a genius. Everyone get their 2 cd Greatest Hits.
Total awesomeness. I also found something inside one
of their old records, a promo sheet thingy that said
that in 1986, Penn & Teller said on MTV that "Half
Japanese are the best band in the world!!!!" and they
were right. I think. Daniel Johnston is pretty good
too btw. He did a record with Jad Fair and they did a
cover of Tomorrow Never Knows and at the end Daniel is
like "No! Do not surrender to the void!!!!" and its
really funny.
