Since when is appreciation of music conditional upon the perceived and often misguided "coolness factor" of just how early the appreciation of an artists music dates??
I have been through music snobbery firsthand myself...and it closed me off to a lot of wonderful music and experiences and most importantly, people. I got over myself and my limited perspective and have opened myself to many worthwhile genres of music.
My advice to anyone using the label "bandwagoners"---Get over yourself. You have no higher appreciation of Moby because you listened to him "first". I have been listening only since Play and have naturally been led to discover early works, much of which, (ironically in this whole skewed measure of one's value as a fan), I was familiar with already and never realized who the artist was.
Moby and other artists are about much more than claims to original fandom and elitist music boundaries. The beauty of him reaching more people is to extend the message he wishes to promote.
I dont think anyone who rates people's value on this list by length of listening time or history on the list itself is really getting any such message from Moby or any other artist.
Just my humble, yet wise, opinion.

Sorry us "little bandwagoneers" piss you off so badly. We're all SO sorry
that we didn't discover Moby while he was just an underground DJ.
How the heck would I know who Moby was if he didn't get played on the radio?
I'm a 17 year old who lives in UTAH.
Let me tell you, the underground scene here is jumpin.
Personally, I think Moby's music is the most deep, amazing, spiritual stuff
out there. Since earlier this year, I've spent all my money on his music.
I'd rather have a couple of his albums than a new pair of pants. Just
because I discovered Play during spring break this year doesn't mean I'm any
less of a fan than anyone else on this list who's listened to him for 8
years or whatever.
Shut up.
Peace
Tyler

That's because you're just a little bandwagoneer who only
picks up on "cool" "new" bands when they get on eMpTy V.
Clearly, those of us who have been listening to Moby for
years (1992 -- HooAH!) are clearly better people.
