Hey all-
Moby's b-day is (as has been said at least 10 times already) 11 Sept. If anybody
wants to do something, i'm going to be at the 10 Sept. show (as i have said too
often). Maybe I'll sneak in a big birthday card or something...any ideas?

The setup looks nice and simple so far. Good job there.

My question is this: are you sure that the Imperial March is Moby? I've
heard the mix before, and I['ve seen Moby's name attached to it... but it
doesn't sound especially Moby, for some reason... near the middle,
actually, it gets a little Moby. Other than that, though, it seems to
approach a euro/house sound.
Does anyone know for sure where this comes from?
All the bootlegs look great, though. Thanks for the resources!
John.

I think that whole plan was formualted before the
record really caught fire and went platinum in
both the UK and US. I'm seeing at least three
more singles coming off Play (The Kelis version
of "Honey", the Elton John version of "Why Does
My Heart Feel So Bad?", and quite likely "Find My
Baby" thanks to the AmEx/Tiger Woods commercial).
And with more singles, naturally, will come more
touring. So he may yet make it to your city, even
if he isn't on this leg.

"Drop a Beat" was included in the episode
featuring John Waters where Homer thinks Bart is
gay and takes him to a steel mill to make him
toughers, only to find the steel mill turns into
a gay disco after hours. And they dance to "Drop
a Beat".

Right, that's the ENDING. Closing Credits.
However, in the scene, quite clearly in the
middle of the episode, gay steel mill workers
dance to "Drop A Beat".

Subject: (mobility) Question & Brief Introduction
Question: Who will be opening for Moby for the Fall U.S. tour?
- -------------------------------------
Hi, I just joined the list, and I will introduce myself (as directed by the
welcome message)...
* Name : Lawrence J. Rydahl-Kim (married to a Swede, and I like her last
name)
* Age : 24
* What is in your Moby collection : Everything is Wrong, Rare, Play
* Where you first heard Moby, and how much of a fan you are : A friend in
college played his self-titled CD for me and I loved it. Then later that
year (1995), he played in St. Louis to a very small crowd (about 300 in a
1000-person venue), and he was absolutely mind-blowing. I saw him again
last year (this time to a sold-out venue), and still loved it. Words cannot
describe how amazing Moby is live. I enjoy listening to his CDs, but I
would much rather see him perform live. Can't wait to see him October 3.
* Other artists you like : Radiohead, Delerium, Balligomingo, and some
others
* Any other interesting information you wish to share : See you in St.
Louis
Cheers,
Lawrence

i'm very curious about something. I have been on the
mofo mobility list for a million years, mostly not
wanting to be any longer....i never read any of these
things, i'm just too busy. I had previously tried to
end the insanity by saying "yo i aint wanna be on no
list no mo foo" but obviously this tactic was
unreliable in its sourse and I'M STILL HERE. If anyone
could be so delightfully kind as to quit this all, i
would be more than jubilent in my retork.

nope.
since i'm a nerd, i had to go check it out.
look:

maintained by fellow nerds.
although they don't list Moby's song being featured, probably becuz they
didn't know or realize it was him since it's 'instrumental'. so someone
straighten them out! :)

I remember distinctly that it was in fact C&C Music Factory during the
show. I would assume the end credits was the same. I don't watch the
Simpsons very much but I remember this!

New me, well back again...
It's been .. a while.
Anne Jermain
too many aliases to mention
currently koi@tamu.edu
works...
19 years old
First heard Moby...gosh...98, 99? Can't recall...
Looked him up on the web, found a clip for something, liked it...
joined this list because of a small article I read in a book
really liked his views, basically
like all music
music is gooood
to name a few:
tchaikovsky, live, dave matthews, cake, dixie chicks, chumba wumba, jewel
... simon and garfunkel ...
well...and nothing i really don't like.
what I have of Moby...a copy of PLAY thanks so much to a member *not sure
if he's still around* of this list...I love the whole thing including some
b-sides he included, and an orange CD very plain Feeling So Real complete
with sound clips to remix some other song at the end...every time you
touch me it feels like I'm being born....every time you touch me it feels
like I need some more...maybe. Sad I can't entirely recall, it's in Texas
with most of my stuff. Want more but waiting until I have a job to start
collecting. I have faith that I'll find what I want...when I can afford
it.
probably be a lurker, mostly...
have a question to pose:
i was at a kd lang concert last night and it was announced that Moby would
be at the Sunshine theatre in Albuquerque NM sometime in september, like
the 20ish...but sadly while I am there now I return to Texas before the
end of this month and so will miss him. I have never had the opportunity
to see him live and I would LOVE to...I've decided that he will be the
somewhat reluctant object of my misplaced affections for the time being
*very useful in that he is unattainable and hence safe*...and obsessions
are best in person of course of course *if you don't think I'm
weird...hmm.* So does anyone know where else he plans to go? The
websites I've found so far only listed until Colorado...thanks ^_^
okay nuff from me...
