i love the fact he is getting massivly exposed, i dont like the
fact that it is through commercial use, such as nike, whom
utilizes sweat shops. the record companies and himself should be
careful of things like that. i aslo wish that a larger variety of
his music was exposed such as tracks from AR or everything is
wrong, i might like to hear "feeling so real" on the soundtrack
of a car commercial.

without having losers "burn off excess energy", basically cos i have passes

got plenty of energy to burn, but do you see him run around the stage

Subject: RE: (mobility) OT the moshing thing
Yeah a lot of the times I go to concerts I see girls flying over my heads
and girls circling in the pit. this whole stereotype of like teenage boys
doing it is getting old.
I had an earring ripped out of my ear, but it was from a crowd surfer, like
how can I blame some chick for having fun.
Moshing and pits are usually organized, in the fact that a circle is formed
and if you don't want to get your ass kicked you stay away from it. It's
not just like hey I have energy I am hitting you in the face randomly.
Because without the mosh pit, there can be no moshing, it's too tight to
even move anywhere else, it's just like pushing that doesn't go anywhere.
Then if you just randomly ever so often or so look back and cover your head
or see the security guards looking around you, know that a crowdsurfer is
near and protect yourself. Duck and cover duck and cover. Moby has plenty
of energy and he jumps around and climbs speaker stacks. Trent Reznor
tackles his band and throws microphone stands at them. You think rock stars
smash guitars and keyboards because they are in a meditated state? People
get energy out different ways. And why would anyone mosh to say Travis,
that is like going and moshing at a Elvis Costello concert. It's not a
matter of being civilized, it's a matter of being the situation doesn't call
for it. And a minimal very minimal amount of any crowd surfing and moshing
goes on at Moby, I watched the rolling rock and been to 5 shows, it's minaly
just a few crowd surfers and jumping around. Anyways, I am just saying
moshing has become something inevitable. People are dying all these times
from getting trampled, but they know they can't outlaw it because a lot of
the kids will get pissed and not go to the concerts, and the promoters know
that. If the courts and music business are choosing money over death, do
you think it's going to stop, I doubt it. And having a gig half full with
civilized fans doesn't pay the bills.

Has anyone been to this page? I don't usually go to the web pages posted
because I have so much mail to check and I don't feel like taking even more
time being online. Anyway, last night I was looking around to see what kind
of other moby sites there are. I remember when I first looked I found
Moby.org and that was it. now, there's a bunch. I was just wondering if
anyone's seen this interview, or if this person is on the list.

I don't see why the venue would get upset, they have no rights to distribute
any recordings, audio or visual, those rights would still be retained by his
record company. The venue might get upset because its their responsibility
to make sure (on behalf of the record company) that no one records the show.

Ok, so more lists, fun stuff!
Favorite Albums (no order)
Moby - Everything is Wrong
Radiohead - Ok Computer
The Who - Who's Next
Manic Street Preachers - Gold Against The Soul
Oasis - Whats the Story Morning Glory
Travis - The Man Who
Public Enemy - He Got Game Soundtrak
Various Artists - Help (Warchild Comp)
KLF - History of The JAMS and 1987 (They share songs)
James - Whiplash
Marvin Gaye - Whats Going On?
(ok thats more than 10)
Favorite Songs
Radiohead - Airbag
Manic Street Preachers - From Despair To Where
The Cure - Charolette Sometimes
Xzibit - What you see is what you get
Erasure - Chorus
The Who - Baba O'Reily
Moby - Next Is The E (Edit/Club Mix)
KLF/2k - F The Millenium
Tribe Called Quest - Check the Rhyme
DC Talk - In The Light
Talking Heads - Road To Nowhere
Kula Shaker - Showere your Love on me
Artists/Groups I dislike (really hard, I don't dislike much music)
company created pop bands (N'sync, BSB, 98 degrees, Destiny's child, Britney
Spears etc..)
LImp Bizkit
Dave Matthews Band (number 1 on the dislike list by far)
Metallica (being anti-napster furthered this dislike)
Eminem (see above)
Blink 182
Crystal Method
Overexposure: I think its a bit much, heck moby's cd's can be purchased from
the discount bulk food store Costco...next to Cristina Algulera and Britney
Spears...but I hope that his music will last and is not a fad....but rarely
are bands not fads...in our time argueably only a few have made "Superstar
Stability"...REM, U2, Madonna, usually a new song is a hit, even if its been
years since last release...
Anyway, someone mentioned politics, for those who don't care don't read on.
Republicans- Big Business Backed fiscal and social conservatives who claim
to be christians and pro-freedom (well for guns anyway). Usually rich
whites, 1 out of 5 delegates at their National convention were millionaires.
Most noteably Anti-Abortion, Anti-Welfare, Pro- School Vouchers. Despite
what they say, not the party of Lincoln (except in name only) Strong in the
South and Midwest and New West.
Democrats- Big Union and Business backed social liberals/moderates fiscal
moderates who claim to be open minded and for the working man. Although
noticeably more diverse, I would imagine 1 out of 10 or 15 at their
convention will be millionaires. Most noteable positions, Pro-Choice, Anti-
School Vouchers, Pro-Equality, Anti- Guns (pro-reasonable use). Despite what
they say, not the party of Jefferson (except in name only) Strong in
Northeast, North West and Urban areas.
Third parties don't play a big roll in our system on the national level.
There are 2 independents in Congress Bernie Saunders a Socialist from
Vermont and a recently converted far right wing repbulican (not sure of his
name or state). 1 Independent Governor Jesse Ventura from Minnesota.
Thats it...
