if anyone is going to be in pittsburgh tonight before the rolling rock show
tomorrow, luna's playing a free concert at the andy warhol museum. it
starts at 8 pm. i'm not too familiar with luna's stuff, but it's free, and
a friend told me that there's going to be "underground people selling their
stuff." not sure what that's all about...i know she's selling the comic
books that she makes. anyway, i've you've never been to pittsburgh or the
warhol museum, check it out. and everyone who's going to the town fair
tomorrow, have fun and give the rest of us a full report!

Subject: (mobility) Moby in NYC
Yay!!!!!! I just got my ticket for the Moby show in
NYC!!! Anybody else get a ticket?
I can't remember who wrote about a Moby club that
they have started on Yahoo, but there was also a Moby
hate club which I looked at. Apparently these
pre-teens in Ireland hate Moby so much that they have
started a yahoo club about it. "People who should die
listening to Moby". I guess they all have class
together because they all seem to know one another and
nominate their teachers to die a slow painful death
listening to Natural Blues over and over again. I
thought that was kinda funny. They lump him with
other awful music such as the spice girls, boy
bands..etc. I wonder how moby responds to negative
feedback. hmm...
To all that are lucky enough to go the Rolling Rock
show tomorrow, does anyone know the order in which the
bands will be playing? I'd like to see his
performance but I don't really want to watch the whole
show. What time does it start? Thanx for the info
and have fun!

Subject: (mobility) Not Moby Related: Political Stuff
I found out last night that a friend of mine was in Philly, & went to check
out those protests at the RNC in Philly on his way home after coming out of
a party. While there, he was arrested without being told why; he was not
informed of his Miranda rights; he was later accused of obstructing a
highway(*he was in a park at the time*) and resisting arrest---apparently,
asking why you're being cuffed counts as resistance. He was then held for 48
hours, without food or water, in a cell that had no running water. He also
claims that others in
the cell with him were dragged out of the cells and beaten when they
demanded access to food and a phone.
There's nothing I can do to help him; what's done is done. I can't do
anything to help those other people. The only thing I can do is inform
anyone else I can about what's going on. There's been good coverage of it at
this URL:
http://www.phillyimc.org/
You can also check out this URL, to get both sides of the story, from
the cops and the protestors:
http://www.salon.com/politics/feature/2000/08/04/protest/index.html
*PLEASE* go and check this out. I strongly believe police brutality affects
everyone in the long run, and We The People should always be vigilant
against it.

Subject: (mobility) opinions ....
hello everyone ,
i find it interesting that a person like moby can have such a
security in himself that he can express himself without caring what other
people think . he also proves that one person can change the world and make
a difference . now i am sure there are people out there who feel different
about certain issues but that is the beauty of this world is that everyone
sees the sky with different eyes . no two people are the same and if they
were what a boring planet this would be . each person is special regardless
of race, religion , mental or physical handicap , material wealth , social
status , and so on . the way i look no one is better then the next person .
we all have different gifts . each person we meet can teach us something we
would never learn by ourselves . thanks moby for helping me realize what is
important in life and that is to love all and serve all just as Christ
taught. the truth will set you free .

well, ok i only heard Flower once. I need to listen to
it again. Its not bad really, its just a bit samey.
But thats not a bad thing I guess. *shrug* i just need
to listen to it again.
As for getting into the techno thing, I guess the
NetRadio thing would be good (I can't get radio stuff
on the internet unfortunately).... There are a few
pretty good compilations to get into this stuff, the
Digital Empire and URBal Beats series arent that bad
(well except for the Keoki and stuff ;) but theyre not
great either. But for any rockers trying to get into
it, its a good way to go. And of course you'll see
Moby along the way on them which isn't a bad thing.
If you see anything interesting feel free to ask some
of us here, we'll tell you if its good.
And if you like abstract stuff like Aphex, pleeeeeese
get ╡-ziq "Royal Astronomy"! That album is a Godsend
to me and I'm telling everyone to get it. (actually
Steve Giles sent me it.. so it's a Giles-send! Thanks
Steve!)
Also, I heard Kid 606 on the radio yesterday.
Anyone heard him? I don't know what song it was, but
it was just so insane and fuckdup made Squarepusher or
Aphex sound like N Sync. You just have to hear it,
that's all.
Anyway,
ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

of music :) It would be cool to meet some of you there. We should try to
gang up and then ambush Moby after the show.
