Moby will be playing at the Fuji Rock Festival at the
Naeba Ski Resort up in Niigata-ken. He's playing on
the Sunday (July 30). He'll be on the White stage at
4:45pm following Buffalo Daughter and Boom Boom
Satellites. Stereolab, Leftfield, and Denki Groove
will be closing up that stage.
The festival looks great. Three days with the likes
of Asian Dub Foundation, Richard D. James, Roni Size,
Wada, Chemical Brothers, Placebo, Morrissey, Primal
Scream, Rollins Band, Run DMC, Yo La Tengo, Bentley
Rythym Ace, Takkyu Ishino, Gomez, and a whole lotta
other folk...
Too bad I can't afford the tickets (just one day is
about $150).
This could be Moby's chance to hit it huge in Japan.
Folks like Phish, who'd played at last year's
festival, have caused a lot of headache with ticket
sales. They've become huge here and much of it is due
to their appearance at the festival.
When he was here in January playing at On Air East in
Shibuya, Moby said it was his first gig in Japan (can
that be true?).
Let's wish him luck.

Next time he comes to Tokyo make sure you post it here. I don't know where
you got your info but Shibuya is just a few stops from where I work. Man,
that would be a good concert.

pointed it out. :)
Argh! Don't you hate it when you hear a song and you can't stop from
repeating it! I put this song on repeat and i'm just -NOT- getting tired
of it... I could listen to it all night. :P

First off, thanks for posting that Blather link! I
typed in /s/stereolab.html after the main URL and I
got the lyrics to "L'Enfer Des Formes", my fave
Stereolab song!!!! hooray!!!!
anyway, i was listening to Modern Rock Live last night
and it was kinda nostalgia night, B-52's and Richard
Butler from the Psychedelic Furs were on, and someone
called in and asked Richard what the last cd he bought
was.... and he said "Play"!!! woohoo!!! so theres yet
another celebrity/musician who's a huge Moby fan,
rock! and later someone asks "what do you think of the
music scene today" or something, Richard asks "waht do
you mean, what bands" and the guy says "like Static X,
Deftones, Slipknot" and Richard is like "yeah its
alright i mean the Deftones are alright but its not my
bag, baby!" yeah he said something like that,
Austin-like! and he said he prefers Moby and BT!!!
wow, i was never a P-Furs fan before, but they played
a bunch of songs by them and I liked them a lot. i'm
compiling this huge lsit of bands and albums that i
need to go to WPKN and just explore whenever i have
the chance. like Sifl's model of Pittsburgh, its
getting pretty big.....
ok folks! i'm getting ready to do the LATE shift at
WPKN tonight, 2-6 AM! after Davo's show! and when i
finish, i'm gonna send the tapes to Ryu! yay!!!

Hi everyone,
I'm Lorraine, I'm 30 years old, and I'm a waterslide addict . . . NO WAIT=

wrong list!!!! Sorry! ;-)
Seriously, I only picked up Play (my first Moby album) yesterday, and so
far, I really like what I hear, not just the "Porcelain" song. Just a
quick question for all you Moby veterans out there: what is that voice i=
n
the background of Porcelain singing? Is there a translation? This is
probably covered ground, so you can e-mail me privately.
The artists are I really like to listen to are Bruce Cockburn, U2, and Ma=
rc
Cohn - so Moby is sort of a departure for me, but hey, life is about
variety, right? Keeps things interesting.
This sounds like a fun list.
Take care yall

It is the climax of the Moby performance (to me at least... The common crowd
seems to dislike such a slow song on a festival) Moby also played this song
live at Drum Rhythm and Pinkpop (2 Dutch festivals) and both times they
played the exclusive 5+ mins. live version with many layered (live synth!)
strings that seemed to last forever... hmm wonderful :)
I would upload it as a soundboard-quality mp3 if there was a new Moby ftp
site.

Hi Geoffrey/Everyone.
Great interview. Some interesting things came out of it.
Moby has to make a different video of Porcelain for the US market, because
MTV had rejected it for been to different. The european version is of a giant
eye with reflections comming from it i.e Moby singing, people's faces, piano
notes benn played, stars shooting around!.
Moby/Mute might release a CD just of the b-sides because he is really fond of
them in September.
Moby talks about Honey/Kelis single and video idea.
Seperately, Play has gone back up the UK charts again and is now number two
again.
Cheers,
Martin

I was watching this just now, they showed Machete
(which the BBC stupidily titled My Weakness),
Porcelain, James Bond, Bodyrock, Honey live as it was
happening.
I don't know if they showed any more than that as I
haven't watched it yet!
I am in the middle of the Chemical Brothers live at
the moment. I'm looking forward to seeing what Nine
Inch Nails material they are going to be showing.
Now, there's a thought. A Moby remix of a Nine Incha
Nails song, or even vice-versa. That would be cool.
The Orb did a mix for NIN, so why can't Moby??
Ross
PS, does anyone out there know what Junkie XL was like
at Glasto? I heard that they were playing live on
Radio 1 on the Friday but I missed it? Was it any
good? Anyone with a copy of it?
In fact anyone out there with any Junkie XL stuff? I
have both albums and remix album and 3 singles. But I
want more!!!!!!
