Sorry for the bad paste a moment ago.
This has absolutely nothing to do with Moby in
any way shape or fashion, but it is so
unbelievably cool, I couldn't pass up sharing it
with you all.

Now, does anyone have about $700,000 I can borrow?

Dragon Ash's song Grateful Days is really good. Unfortunetly, it is
their ONLY good song as the rest of their stuff ssucks. Their new single
is the biggest Beastie Boys rip off I have ever heard. Everyone should
check out Globe. If somoene can get me a good FTP program for MAC, I can
upload some MP3s to my site. Any recomendations?
Brotha Man, I am going to a bunch of places in Tokyo, but I wille be
hanging out constantly in Shibuya. It is my second home. And yea, there
is no other place in the world better than Shibuya for used CD shopping
(probably). Hopefuly I will get there before you... And I am climbing
Mt. Fuji again too, plus giong to Hong Kong (free plane tickets
everywhere! and business class too!) but anyway, I will be in Shibuya. I
lived in Nakameguro though, two stops away from Shibuya on the Toyoko
line.
Oh, and Xaq, to your Happy squeky Jpop question, try anyone basically,
but especially Morning Musume or Pucchi Moni or Any of those groups that
TSUNKU produces, but especially Morning Musume. Another new group,
Folder 5 might fit in too, as well as others. You'll love Morning Musme
- - Love Machine and Pucchi Moni - Chokotto Love. Check them out. Andm,
yea, I sent you the Underworld CD. Later.

No problem Erin.
How do you mean cut off? Becuase it is intended to be
cut off.
The ending goes
"It hates you.
It hates you
it hates"
And then ends suddenly.
Just Moby having a laugh I think!
Chances are you probably have the full version!!!
See ya!

WOW. see, even a recent convert to Moby can tell that
this stupid 'best of' thing is a dang sham!!! who the
hell does Elektra think they're kidding?!?!
As for a good Moby primer, well of course Everything
Is Wrong and Animal Rights are totally absolutely and
indubitably essential, so waste no time in getting
those (and if at all possible, try and find the 2cd
British versions of each, on Mute, altho they are
rare, especially the 2 cd EIW, but the Animal Rights
2cd is way better than the American version i think,
so try n get it....)
but anyway as for Moby's early techno stuff on
Instinct, i think the best way to go is Early
Underground. most others here will say the self titled
Moby or Rare: B-Sides (which comes with an hour of Go
remixes!) but i think EU is way better than those.
First time i got into Moby (i love dragging this story
to the list!) was actually browsing around the
Goodwill store (same way i got into PE, ATCQ, Pixies,
New Order, etc.) when i found a dub tape that said
"Moby: Everything Is Wrong" on it, and i've heard of
him and heard some of his rock stuff (AR was coming
out then i think, and i was still listening to Radio
104, just weaning on to college radio) and i was also
getting into techno, so i got that and i was totally
blown away, and as an added bonus whoever dubbed EIW
to side 1 of that put the first 10 trax of EU on it,
which instantly turned me on to his early stuff. using
old magazine photos of the man (from the defunct CD
Review if anyone cares, which named EIW one of the
best albums of 95), i made a nifty looking tape case
holder thing for it. oh, i also got ILTS the week it
came out (i was going to get it the day it came out,
but i accidentally stuck some mustard packets in my
pockets at lunch, one of the first days i went to
Hamden High actually, and so my money had all mustard
all over it, so i had to wait til the weekend to get
it! ;)

Red Rocks is a legendary venue in colorado i believe.
everyone from Dave Matthews to The Chemical Brothers
have played there. at least i think they have, those
are the only two names i can remember of people that
played there ;) but Dave Matthews has always said that
Red Rocks is one of the best places to play live, so
it sounds pretty cool. as for touring with RITM,
probly not but who knows. i hope Moby goes on tour
with some techno group next time, not to stereotype
him, but he got lots of bad vibes with people waiting
to see Bush n junk, so there would be no point of him
doing that again. the vibes would be way better with
him and somebody like Juno Reactor like before. when i
saw him it was with some noisy rap group that nobody
was there to see. i though they were cool but its jsut
not the vibe for a Moby show. somebody techno-ey would
make a lot better bill w/Moby, i think.
also, when Moby toured for AR, who was his band? who
were some of his opening acts too? was that the first
time he performed with a band (besides early punk
stuff of course), the rest was solo?
> In 20 acts, there were only 2 women on stage: Moby's

hooray for Moby doing that! yay! as for SRC, anybody
have any opinions on them? i'm curious...

he said a lot of em were just garbage, just noise
junk. i'm sure he has tons and tons of demos and junk
around his studio. i want to hear it all tho, im sure
his stupidest
moaning-in-the-shower-naked-fondling-a-guitar track is
better than anything i could ever cough up......

well, definitely interesting.... i kinda agree with
her tho. thank god that Moby is still kinda down to
earth right? most of the time anyway...
ok i might as well go bye bye. i think im going to do
the Monday 12-3am shift on WPKN in a few days again,
if anyone cares. also, in case ANYONE cares, the Sifl
& Olly tribute album that i have 3 trax on is
complete, totally, theres even advance copies and MP3s
floatin around, we just have to get the artwerk ready
for official release. well, sort of official release,
it's free to anyone that wants it, just have to pay a
blank cd and postage.
but anyway, ROCK! bye! DJ PAUL

I have most of his cd's that I'm aware of- about 35.
The first cd I would go with is "everything is wrong"
it has a wide variety of music on it, And it was the
first one I ever got. "Animal rights" has some really
beautiful stuff on it, but it also has a lot of really
heavy loud guitar screaming stuff that I don't care
for, and is my least favorite of moby's styles. "I
Like to Score" has a good variety of classical and
upbeat stuff. The older stuff like ambient and moby
rare etc... are alright, but don't expect anything
like play. All the play singles that I have bought
have been beautiful, I highly recomend them all. A lot
of the everything is wrong singles are pretty nice
too, but If you have to choose one, I think you would
be most pleased with everything is wrong. If you
really want to be sure, check out the track listings
and then go sample the songs off napster, or amazon.
that's what I do. peez out,
rubbersharkman

Subject: (mobility) moby turns down madonna!
you all know this by now since i have the digest, but
from the NME:
MOBY has revealed that he said ænoÆ to MADONNA when
she asked to work with him.
But he has not ruled out a future collaboration with
the queen of pop when he begins work on his next
album.
Speaking to www.mtv.com, he explained: "Madonna
expressed some interest in possibly working
together and I would love to, because I think she has
a very beautiful voice and sheÆs obviously very
talented.
"But IÆm on tour forever, and maybe when it comes time
to make my own record, if she wants to help
out, IÆd love to have her involved."
He also commented that he is fed up remixing other
peopleÆs work and plans to focus on his own
records. "In the past IÆve done so many remixes...
Metallica, Aerosmith, David Bowie, The
Prodigy and Michael Jackson. Now I just want to focus
on making my own music. So, much as
IÆd like to do a Madonna remix, I wouldnÆt want to be
tempted by that."
Moby appears on The Other Stage at Glastonbury
Festival tomorrow (June 23). He is also
scheduled to play T In The Park on July 8 and V2000 at
Chelmsford and Leeds on August 19
and 20.
ROCK!
