Hello everyone,
This was my sugestion that I made to mobymail. Before I go into that
though, I do agree that a BT/moby show would be awesome!! SOmething on par
with the current Stereolab/Sonic youth show winding away to a city near you.
GO see them if you get a chance, it was great!!
I recommended that the powers that be should look into getting Salaryman to
open for Moby. Salaryman consists of the same members of Poster Children
playing kinda electronic music(guitars, drums, keyboards and a TV!) I know
they are not well known but last year the Boom Boom Satellites did a really
good job opening, and they were/are not well known at all(or maybe it was
just me).
Salarymans most recent album (karoshi?sp?) is pretty good but also like Boom
Boom Satellites they are better live.

Hey All,
I was just curious who y'all suggested to be the Opening Act for Moby's
Tour.
I personally want Boom Boom Satellites to do it again coz they're awsome.
Though
I have a couple other band/artists such as. william orbit,
Orbital,Underworld, and Leftfield on mind.
But they seem to be really big name bands.. oh well..

Yeah they should do a festival tour!! I saw Moby at the Big Top tour
years back with Eat Static, 808 State, BT and others. Organic was
great with Orbital, Underworld, Chemical Brothers, Orb, Meat Beat
Manifesto and others...
I long for those days.
Oh speaking of BT I picked up the US version of his CD and I have to
say I liked the UK version I downloaded much better. All the songs are
mixed together on the UK and there is less singing. Not saying his
singing is bad it's just a different feel to the cd. Plus I can't
imagine how Ride didn't make it to the US version..

I love the UK/OZ version of "Movement in Still
Life". The US version seems like a cd of all
radio edits or something. I still found it quite
enjoyable. But what I did, after the US release,
I took the extended mixes off the OZ bonus cd and
put them on a cd with the tracks pff the US
release to make a "soopa" 2-cd editon of
"movement" that is 18 tracks and just over two
hours longs.... That version, despite the tracks
not being mixed together, ROCKS!

If anything they should release a bigger collection of B-sides for us. I
still am having trouble getting some rare-mixes from Voodoo Child. Oh well,
never can get everything that you want.

Due in July on Elektra:
1. First Cool Hive
2. Go
3. Into The Blue
4. Now I Let It Go
5. Move (You Make Me Feel So Good)
6. I Like To Score
7. Anthem
8. Hymn
9. Feeling So Real
10. God Moving Over The Face Of The Waters
11. Alone
12. Novio
13. The Rain Falls And The Sky Shudders
14. When It's Cold I'd Like To Die
15. Living
16. Grace
What does everyone think of this release? Nothing new really for the fans
who have most of the official stuff like myself. Will everyone be buying
this?
On one hand it kind of pisses me off. Elektra didn't really do SHIT for
Moby and now
they're cashing in on his popularity because a small label knew what to do
with him and gave him the promotion he needed. It's a BS "cashing in"
release by a BS major label (can you tell I despise major labels?) :)
But on the other hand, it's a good chance for those who only know Moby
through "Play" to be introduced to his stellar earlier work too.
What do you all think?

Yeah I kind of agree with your thinking. It is difficult for me to find any
real versions of Moby here in Japan and the ones that you do get are all
commercial. I have to look for months just to get one good rare track from
the U.K. and that bites! Discovering progressing house mixes of anything
genuine is just impossible. What I would like to have is a place to at
least down load Moby stuff I have no hope of getting here in Japan and of
course getting suggestions for better progressive house mixes.
After all, if you only have $100 and every CD is like $30 and they say Moby
or PH this or that, how can anyone possibly get the real music they are
looking for? It is impossible! Most of the stuff is either simple
commercial Moby and in the other sense progressively boring house music.
