my god, i just got the last digest and I posted about
half of it!
but i got a quick question, um, are there any actual
black people on this list? i mean just wondering, if
so, thats fucking awesome, its nice to see that Moby's
music isnt just limited to white people ;) i mean cuz
like all of the voices on Play besides Moby's are like
blues n gospel n old school rap samples, so it would
be kinda nice to know that people other than just
white guys like Moby are listening to that kinda
stuff.
Thanks for putting up with all my mindless babblings
today, now i gotta get to sleep,
DJ PAUL, who loves all the peoples of the earth
(except the bad ones who hate people, i dont love them
at all!)

I'm getting a kitten pretty soon (tomorrow as a matter of fact).
And well I've been confused as what to name it.
Well I definitely want to name it after someone who's influenced me
musically.
And well guess whos done that!
Hmmmm there are four people who have..
John Williams? Nope can't name him Williams.
Danny Elfman? Elfman, yeah that'll boost the lil kitties confidence.
Trent Reznor? Reznor, hmmm well I'm not getting a tiger or anything here.
lets seee whos left?
MOBY!?
Does that sound like a cool cat name? I know its different, thats for sure.
I dont want to name the cat muffins or anything like that (although if
youre cat is named muffins, don't take it personally, muffins are good, i
just want to be a bit more different)
:)
I know im going to be explaining myself to people who've never heard of Moby
before, and think i'm talking about the book. Although I'm usually
explaining moby to people anyways, so why not use the cat as a reference!
"Who the hell is Moby"
'Why he's a great musician, and such a great one, that i named my friggin
cat after him!'
But hey, right now its the only thing my fried brain can think of at the
moment.
But for now in this windows98 world, the cats name shall remain "Untitled
Cat".
this isnt the greatest post in mobility history, but oh well, go figure :)
- ------ you know what would be even cooler, is if for some reason the cat
took a liking to the album "Animal Rights" and was a bit scared of the track
"Dog Heaven"! or wait would he like that track??? -----------
Thanks,
Eric (who has had too much caffeine)

moby is a great name for a cat! i think there was someone on the list who
named their dog moby, so it's nice to see equal representation in the pet
world. ;)

Subject: (mobility) Moby, in general
So I sit here typing and Bodyrock starts playing on the "top 40" station
here in Denver...nice to hear...very nice to hear.
With the Man gaining popularity and all...where are the bumperstickers?
Especially the bootlegs? All but one of my band stickers are bootlegs (that
one being the manic street preachers for all who care)... I've only seen one
Moby sticker in my life...and it was of play...anyways...just something I've
noticed...
As for My Weakness (as was mentioned a few days ago). I love the song...one
of my 4 favorite moby songs...one of the few songs I can write to. (Moby
holds the title of producing 3 of the few songs I can write to..the others
are The Rain is falling and the Sky is Shuddering, and
Living)....anyway...when they used it in Any Given Sunday it fit the part in
the movie to a T.
Flower, beautiful song...I first experienced in a packed theater...I loved
it...oh how did I love it...I may just have to get the Gone in 60 Seconds
soundtrak for that song...and the movie was pretty good too.
I was listening to the radio the other day (rare when I am not at college)
and the station I was listening to pretty much said that moby was coming to
Denver by the end of summer...stay tuned etc..etc.. My hopes have been
revived..as long as they don't do what they did last year and place him with
2 crappy local DJ's as opposed to having Moa (oh that would have been good).
Anyway lets all keep rocking to moby and spreading the word (or music) of
moby. The new Record Elektra will be putting out sounds very sweet...a good
cross section of MOby's music to get out there to the masses...it will do
well...I hope some of his older stuff will then be recognized.
OT: Names of pets... I like the name Moby for a pet...I knew of a dog named
after the hip hop dj Dj Clue... I am going to name a dog Socrates and
another Plato...maybe a Xerxes or Aurelius...good ol philosophers...other
than Xerxes....

Moby is definitely a cool cat name. But, I guess since that's taken (and
probably for a dog too), I'll have to name my pet.. umm.. Melville. Yeah,
Melville! As DJ Paul would say... ROCK!

Hey guys, for those of you who didn't get to see
Moby the two times he performed on David
Letterman's Late Show, the performances are
archived at the show's website on www.cbs.com in
the "Live On Letterman" section. Lots of other
fabulous performances by many, many other artists
are posted there as well. Enjoy.
