I recall reading somewhere that he played live with them for a while, but
wasn't on any released albums. There's a bootleg live album that has Moby's
guitar work on it, supposedly.

..."Songs from the South" is/was an archival project
done by Alan Lomax in the early 1900's. Mr. Lomax
roamed parts of the South seeking out "local"
musicians in their hometown areas and recorded them
doin' their thing(s). Much of it is "a capella"
(forgive my spelling). It is a huge colection of
truly beautiful and talented American
Blues/Gospel/Roots Artists. It is available in a CD
box set and is well worth checking out. Mr. Lomax
also did other archival projects of early jazz and
blues musicians that are absolutely brilliant for the
way they capture these artists. Check out any
recordings of Jelly Roll Morton, for example. Sorry
this is so long......

they didnt do that at the Moby show i went to!
However, when I saw Weird Al last Thursday he said
"well its nice to be back here in my hometown,
Hartford, and this all makes me remember all the
things i used to do" etc., and the keyboard player is
all puttin on the drama in the background while Al is
talking, and then hes all banging on the keyboard, and
Al stops talking, looks up at him, and takes a (toy)
gun out and shoots the keyboard player! and then he
sings "One More Minute"!
right, anyway, bye!

Yes!
Thank goodness my brother turned on Comedy Central when he did, RIGHT as
Moby was coming on. I popped in a tape and caught most of it. Moby getting
eaten by Space Ghost who found that bald dome so enticing, HILARIOUS!!
If I'm not mistaken Moby has appeared on at least one other episode of this
correct?
Too funny.

I have a Newsweek subscription, and I got it on Monday. The Moby thing is
near the front and shares a page with 3 or 4 other blurbs. It has a picture
of the Play CD case and has the text in little boxes surrounding it,
Newsweek infographic style.

Subject: (mobility) Just a thought
Maybe it's because I'm home sick, it's raining out and I have nothing to do
that I'm thinking of this but just the same I thought I'd share. Here goes.
Animal Rights got a lot of criticism when it came out. I happened to love
the album and I know a lot of you do too. Wouldn't it be fun if Moby took
some of the Animal Rights songs and remixed them to sound more EIWish or
PlayISH? Picture the first minute of Face it made HoneyISH or taking Say
It's All Mine and keeping the violins and making it Into the BlueISH. Even
Someone To Love; take the guitar solo and make it slower and acoustic and
make it When It's Cold I'd like to DieISH or even EverlovingISH. He could
title it "Everything Played Right." Or he can make them obvious remixes and
blend songs. Like what would happen if Porcelain met Heavy Flow?
Ooooooh...somebody stop me. :) Oh well. Again, I love AR just the way it
is. It was "just a thought". -Kelly
