You're right.  It sucks that alternative music is totally tuning out.  The
rap and R&B scene is huge right now and quite frankly I think that sucks!
Those people have little talent and the lyrics suck.  The only good thing
about rap music is that it's fun to dance to.  And this whole BSB/'N
Sync/Britney Spears trend is disgusting...they don't have any talent either!
They're not writing their own music and they're trying to seel themselves by
their image and not their talent.  Anybody agree or even disagree?  Write

Well, I have to admit that Alternative music needs to get bigger again.

However on the Britney Spears stuff, well I don't mind it.  I guess here in
Japan we don't have it 24/7 and so I really don't care.  The R&B and Hip Hop
is good for remixing.  I don't know what the BSB/'N is.  Sorry!  However, we
still have plenty of Moby and it is good.

As for Britney, remember that she is what, 18 and that she is just trying to
make it.  Yeah, her music might be artificial but hey, remix it and it gets
better.  And remember, turn off the TV.  It helps to not have so much info
in a day.  In fact, here in Japan, we have cable radio and I can just listen
to various Alternative stations from all over the world especially Europe!
That helps in getting more exposure to what I really want.

Is that good enough :-)  Let's hope that Moby comes to Japan and that
Prodigy actually gets another album out there.  Yeah, what is happening to
music outside of Moby these days?

As an AVID Moby fan I would like to see something new and different on a DVD
from Moby. Here is a list of some idea's I have accumulated.

1. All the Play video's. (Including the alternates i.e. Bodyrock parts 1-3)

3. As many exclusive DVD release only B-sides or remixes.

yesterday i saw moby up at svsu. [ if anyone was there i was the tall skinny
guy w/ a blue moby baseball-t, acupuncture trainers, and some fiction
detachable pants w/ the cute lil punky girl ] a lot of people were there for
moby. he [ moby ] was so cute when everyone was screaming his name and he
got this big grin on his face. the set was basicly moby on
precussion/vocals/guitar/keyboards, dj spinbad on turntables/keyboards,
greta on bass and a drumer. most of the songs were his early dancy stuff
with some play mixed in. sadly moby didnt sing along with the vocal samples
from play as much.  it was an intersting show for the fact that people were
"moshing" to moby. i tought it was a bit odd since moby songs seem to strike
me as mostly danceing, sexing, or introspective. anyway frat boys have the
most horrid sweat ever. i would of been suprised to find any blood in their
alchohol stream. a highpoint was when some dick-ass got all pissed off
because i elbowed his damn ass and was "moshing to rough" when he was trying
his damndest to move us. [ and using every concert dirty trickÖ witch sadly
for him i know more of ] some intersting convo from moby included his
calling tommorow never dies a pice of shit, asking who like to dance till
8am [ to a bunch of moshing fratboys ], and having everyone yell "fuck you
moby" and flick of his camcorder. anyway a charming night. bush kicked ass
as well.

So who else watched the MTV thing on Campus Invasion?  I didn't know it was going to be on so it was a very nice surprise when I got home, turned on the TV and saw Moby.  I thought it was pretty interesting.  Mostly because he talked about Christina Ricci and I'm a big Christina fan.  So anyway I guess I won't be seeing Moby on this tour because he's not coming anywear very close to San Jose and no one wants to drive down with me to Fresno or San Luis Obispo.  Oh well, I'll catch him next time around.

not everyone can have everything they want be popular for their entire life
:)
like... some people like rap and hate alternative music with a purple
passion
maybe its time we let others have spotlight instead of hogging it all for
our own musical interests
take for instance ... mtv
about every 3 or 4 years they change their style of music (because the
popular music changes) sometimes i like the popular music... sometimes i
dont... but just because i dont like the music which happens to be popular
at the time doesnt mean the artists of those songs are not talented :o)

I dont think these people have broke up because they went out of
business, but they did it because personal reasons. I mean, it's not
uncommon for a group to split because some members want to go solo, or
have evolved into different styles (or substyles, or they want to
produce rather than sing/play).

Moby's been here for (more than?) 12-15 years now, and these years have
been the most successful (referring to main stream popularity, I guess),
but I'd like to think that he wouldnt move on if he wasnt as popular
(well, if he can make a living).

Hmmmm you forgot to mention bands like Blink 182, Matchbox 20 and those
"little black back pack back" song people.  grr.  yucky.  And lots of people
like Korn and Limp Bizkit too, who my boyfriend used to really like, and now
hardly listens to them anymore.  I think hes under the impression that they
sold out.  I heard System of a Down on the radio yesterday.. that was kind
of neat.  I really like Incubus, but their latest album is just not as good,
so of course it gets radio airplay... bands seem to remake themselves for
radio.
