Subject: (mobility) Met Moby in Saginaw
Just got back from seeing Moby in Saginaw, Michigan on the Campus Invasion
Tour.
As expected Moby kicked ass live, but could he do anything else? And as
expected a lot of the crowd sucked. Especially those seated in the risers.
A lot of the people on the floor were having a good time, there was lots of
body surfing and jumping up and down on the floor near the front. Funniest
comment we heard was after the last song when the guy next to us tells his
buddy, "THEY were good but he sucked" meaning who he thought was the lead
singer of the band Moby. HAHAHAHA, who do you think is responsible for
creating all that music you thought was great moron? Ahh, nothing like the
uneducated mass public.
A few surprises that I was not prepared for after seeing the Play Tour in
Detroit. He played "Why Can't It Stop?" something I haven't seen mentioned
here although Moby said after the show they've been playing it throughout
the tour. This came as a TOTAL surprise then for me, the second number of
the show and it was AWESOME. God I hope he plays this when he returns
touring on his own. Love to hear this in a club packed with Moby fans, that
song pumps me up so bad.
The best part for me was getting to meet Moby after the show. I've seen so
many people post here about it I thought the hell with it we're going for
it, I could give a rats ass about Bush anyways so we walked out around the
back to where the tour buses were at. There were a few girls standing there
and I figured maybe they too were waiting for Moby since Bush hadn't yet
taken the stage. But no they said they were waiting for "Gavin". Uh, so
what are you gonna do miss the show to sit out here? Anyways we waited for
a bit, it was getting dark and chilly and suddenly here comes this solitary
figure walking towards the bus and sure enough it was Moby. I called
"Moby!" and he said hey, he had to drop some things off he was carrying on
the bus and be back out in two seconds. He came back out and talked for a
few minutes, my brother and I probably came across as the 2 biggest DORKS
in history
but he was so nice and gracious and humble, the guy is so down to earth,
what a breath of fresh air in a music world full of hugely inflated egos.
I had to get the gushing out about what a great show it was. I asked him
how it felt playing to this type of crowd and he said it was cool, a chance
to expose the music to people who wouldn't normally hear it. I also told
him that he was right up there with Prince as the greatest live performer I
ever saw which he seemed genuinely complimented by. I asked him about
playing "Why Can't It Stop", and if he was returning on his own to tour
which he said yes, as we know, after playing some festivals in Europe. I
had to ask if he was coming back to Detroit and he said sure
although probably in a bigger venue than last time which is to be expected.
He is just so humble, I told him he probably gets this gushing over from
fans all the time and he said something about it never gets old and it
truly means a lot to him.
He signed my Voodoo Child End Of Everything cover(making mention about it
being rarer to find) with the Little idiot and my brothers T-Shirt too.
Asked my name and shook my hand before we left too.
Just an awesome night, Gavin and Bush are probably still onstage now but
who cares? I got to see another awesome performance by Moby and how can you
top meeting the man whose music has touched you so much? Moby thanks for
making two Detroit fans year by giving a few minutes of your time. Can't
wait til he returns to play the clubs again on his own in front of a house
packed with Moby fans.

both zip files you have up there, don't seem to be valid archives (according

maybe try uploading them again or not as zip files but as mp3s.

Yup, I sure did. Took your five bucks and started a whole new life on a
tropical island, where cute hula-dancing girls serve me drinks in coconuts.
Just kidding(like you didn't realize that). I hope you still have the email

Do WE have something else????..... who knows... does the general populace
have something else???? YES. Just last week N'Sync set an incredible sales
record with something like 2.5 million cds sold in ONE WEEK. Thats amazing.
Even more amazing when you consider how bad the band is.
I think alternative is dead or dying. The kids today have moved on to
bubblegum pop. However, I also believe that this comes and goes in cycles.
People won't listen to N'Sync, Brittany Spears and Backstreet boys forever.
As Dick Barrett of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones said, "The backlash is
coming" Personally... I can't wait :)
