My sister just got tickets to see Moby at Central Michigan on Campus
Invasion, but she can't go because it's the week before she's due to give
birth. She's very sad.
I, however, got tickets to see him April 11th at Bowling Green State in
Ohio. So here's a quick question: does anyone have any information yet on
what his touring style has been like? I imagine (especially for an MTV /
Bush crowd) he'll play mostly stuff off of Play. Is he mixing in old
material? Doing lots of guitar stuff, or relying on digital and keyboards?
Dance style, what? Our little moby-ster has such a great variety of
styles, we're abuzz trying to figure out what this concert experience will
be like.
Anyone got any suggestions?

That would be nice..I saw him solo last August and at a small club. It was so
good.
Its so odd to think he will be OPENING for Bush! It's like....Bush who?

Sensual Sensual is one of the sexiest albums I
own... great for making love to. Fiesta Fatal is
nice and poppy. And Suave Suave is a little
harder to follow. A great group, though, for
sure.

Subject: (mobility) New Moby Purchases
Hello people!
I thought I would showcase some of the new Moby
purchases/acquisitions I have made in the past
couple of weeks. This will be it for a while,
and then I have to actually budget money.
Working your way out of debt sucks... luckily it
looks like Natural Blues is the last single for a
while... plenty of time to catch up.
Anyway, on to the recent grabs:
Voodoo Child - Higher/Desperate
* Definitely better than Demons/Horses, but I
only wish it could have been longer. Thanks to
Mute Bank, I now am able to get things that I
couldn't in years past. WOO HOO!!!! Good acid
techno (I think...).
Moby - Come on Baby Limited 2CD
* I picked this up for $4.80 plus shipping
through Mute Bank. Someone paid $40 on eBay for
it. ::giggle:: I'm glad I stayed the course. :)
I have the promo with the Eskimos and Egypt
remixes already, and the original XCD Come On
Baby single. The only bonus was Hymn Live at the
Splash Club, which is moving. The rubber case is
neat.
Moby - EIW Mixed and Remixed
* One of my friends lost Disc One to my original
purchase of this. So I had to buy the item again
for $14.40 plus shipping. However, I have an
extra disc two. Anyone want it? I'll ship it
for free.
Moby - Natural Blues Promo 2
Moby - Natural Blues PXL 12"
* I wish I could listen to these, but I don't
have a deck yet. Coming at the end of May. I
must have patience.... calm the many waters and
all that happy garbage. Olmec and Katcha
Remixes, here I come!!!
Other notable purchases:
Hevia - Tierra de Nadie
BT - Movement in Still Life
Dmitri from Paris - Mixmag Vol ??
Fatboy Slim - Greatest Remixes
Coming up (money willing):
Fatboy Slim - Greatest Hits
Fatboy Slim - Live at the Big Beat Boutique
Air - Playground Love
Clinton - People Power in the Disco Hour
Dmitri from Paris - A Night at the Playboy
Mansion
Primal Scream - XTRMNTR
Micronauts - Bleep to Bleep
I'm an Astralwerks junkie. :)

Agree TOTALLY. It seems any non-Moby fanatic (like us here) STILL loves
this song, this song would be HUGE and push sales of "Play" even further.
If V2 does not release this as the next US single, they are fools, plain
and simple. Plus look at all the exposure this song has already had. On at
least 2 soundtracks, now the Letterman performance, etc.
> I have a complaint about the us version of Natural Blues. The complaint

Agreed, the tracklisting blows. There are all kinds of remixes out there
for this track and we get exactly 2 on this single, one of which is an edit
as you mention. In the US, there should be NO REMIX EDITS on singles!!! We
don't have the stupid UK chart rules that put 20 minute time limits on the
CD singles thus the majority of mixes on UK singles are edits. There is NO
reason for a remix edit on a US single.
It should have been the full length mix, no excuses.
Also having both the album version and radio edit is STUPID as well. I
understand you have to have one of the two as a selling point, having the
original version on here, but both is just plain DUMB. It makes no sense,
who dreams up these tracklists at the record company?

My brother calls me from work last night around dinner time, he works at
that God awful dump Best Buy.
Anyways he says this guy came in their music department asking what the
song was Moby played on Letterman and if they had the CD cuz he "HAD to
have it that song was INCREDIBLE". So the guy in the music department calls
back to the warehouse for my brother cuz everyone there knows he is a huge
Moby fan and has the customer talk to my brother on the phone.
He tells him it is "Porcelein" from Play. The guy then talks to him about
Moby for 5 minutes and walked out of the store having purchased EVERY
different Moby CD they had in stock!!!!! Talk about ONE song being
performed on TV making an impression.
Just another example of why "Porcelein" should be the next single!

Yes! Cool to see others out there that like B-Tribe. I have all three of
their CD's (as far as I know that's all they've released) and love them
all. You described them perfectly and I do like them better than Deep
Forest and I'd say they're neck and neck with Enigma whose new CD I
absolutely LOVE.

`Porcelain` is an awsome tune. I listen to it all the time. Its aways on,
however sometimes my parents get pretty anyoyed with it on full blast on 5
speakers in the house hehe. Then I gotta use the Headphones but im always
listening to music. I might be the lamest person in the world to ever
attempt to play an Insturment ( I play Trumpet in school band) but at least
I can play music. Im going to try and learn the piano.. then I can mess
around with some stuff on the computer making music. My friend Aaron does a
lot of mixing and music on his 303 that he bought, Some of his stuff is
pretty good check him out at www.mp3.com search for Second Child. I think
though moby should do some more songs like `Porcelain` and by all means do
another single with `Porcelain` on it.
Yah !
