well here it goes - i've been meaning to do this for ages but didnt have
an e mail address.
name ingrid kopka
age 39 but not feelin it
moby music collection
a)cd albums
1-play
2-everything-remix
2-i like to score
4-everything
5-animal rights/little idiot ep
6- early underground*
7- ambient*
8- rare coll b sides/14 versions of go*
* only bought 2 days ago
b)singles
1-why does my heart vers 1
2-why does my heart vers 2/remix
3-bodyrock v1
4-bodyrock v2
5-run on
6-move
7-everytime you touch me
8-animal rights ep
first heard of moby/degree of fanhood
i first heard moby on radio 1(pete tong kept playin why does my heart)
and i absolutely loved it. well i just had to get the single. and 2 days
later the album.....
and it just kept growin from there. i felt it was very considerate of
moby to quote all these contact notes on the cds and got in touch with
mute (engl record company)
play moved me so much in every sense of the word. i got myself a
portable cd player and took moby's music with me wherever i went and go
(this is a clue to how big a fan i am - my friends call me moby mad and
i dont want to be cured, in fact it is getting to them as well.) call me
naive, but i just had no idea about the size of moby's stardom then. a
lot of moby's music is like film music and its like having a soundtrack
to your life.
i like lots of music, currently mostly dance in all its many forms(paul
van dyk, sasha, orbital, fatboy slim, joey negro, jocelyn
brown,trancesetters, space manoeuvres,meeker, basement jaxx,chem bros,
and lots more), i still like some of the punk things i've grown up with
like the clash or stranglers, undertones
i used to like the birthday party/nick cave, xmal deutschland, gene
loves jezebel, the purple things, the cramps (and did go and see them
all live as much as poss)
before i got to punk i listened a lot to american radio and all kinds of
black music mostly as a lot of the rock stuff was boring (anybody
remember parliament, funkadelic, earth wind &f fire- now they're getting
all sampled)
and going back to my very childhood i grew up with classical music. so
maybe you can understand why i love to be surrounded by music. and
coming back to moby i think i can follow why he doesn't want to be
pinned down to just one style, music is too great to be cornered.
course/work
i'm currently doing a computer course at stoke college(in england) and i
have taught myself how to use the web during the last month.
other info
well, you can see from the above that maybe i'm not your average moby
fan in the sense that i'm not a teenager anymore. in fact i'm now a
single divorced mother with 4 children aged 4-10 who also listen to moby
(educate them early i say).
i like to use computers as a means of communication and its brilliant
how you can instantly get in touch with people.
on 25 feb i went to see moby live in manchester/england and it was
absolutely amazing. (i dragged some friends (aged in their twenties)
along and they couldnt believe it...
well, this is it for now.
love you all out there
Ingrid
