Let's see, other observations of the night from
those who were there: Moby is a dream. Rosie
O'Donnell was a delight. And, Elton John
made sure he stuck around to see Moby's set.
If you missed the review of the show, check

Hi there!
On the Tonight show, this guy was intervewing stars before or after the
grammys, and Moby walked by.... So the guy told him that people who won
awards had to take a drug test... Moby (of course) said he would be happy to
donate a pee or stool sample... They were just kidding but he offered to pee
in the cup right in the red carpet... I almost died laughing! Fun times.....

It already has been released as the track "Running" on the UK Run On
single. The difference is that the version on the single has the beat of
"Find My Baby" (from play) and the vocal sample (I'm runniiiiiing) is a
bit shorter, but in general it's about the same.

Moby told me a couple of years ago (back when
play was still about 300 rough demos and he had
yet to get nearly as famous as he is today) that
Jewel was like his one real celebrity friend (his
first now, i guess), and that they carried on
this little buddy-buddy thing primarily via fax machine.

This is kind of OT but Macy Gray has a weird voice. I heard her single (dunno
the name) and at first I thought it was some kind joke....she sounded so
weird!? Am I the only one who thinks that? I mean, I don't think she has a
beautiful voice....it's very Sesame Street-ish you know? Like Elmo or

[I send this message again (different subject) because I think this

Yuck!
Looks like Mike D. is in for the 'Worst Remix of a Moby Track Ever Done'
award ( http://realmedia.ipc.co.uk:7070/ramgen/nme/MobyMikeDMix.rm )
Never heard such a crappy retro-seventies-remix before ... I always hope
that
a remix makes the original version stand out more, makes it even more
'alive'
... One of the best examples to me still is the Move [Electro Mix] that
some
(unnamed?) German DJ made (Moby used it on his mixed/remixed CD; I
happen to
be the lucky owner of the full 7:44 version).
But Mike D. is merely boosting his ego, I guess, by fucking up Moby's
version
the way he does.
Any suggestions for the runner-up?
Rob
P.S. I guess there will be someone who can appreciate this remix, but
explain
to me why??

I couldn't agree with you more on this point. I
don't know if I hate Mike D's mix, though.

Hmmmm.... I think it's a refreshing mix instead
of the happy trance stuff that's been the norm of
remixing lately. I like the remixes that stand
out so far (Rae & Christian Bodyrock). However,
there are some parts of the Mike D remix that
make me cringe as well. Like the organ. Lose
the organ, the old recording is nice, though.

I understand a record companies position on Napster but as a music fan may
I say God Bless Napster. God Bless the electronic CD compliations I keep
burning from all my Napster downloads.
I'm one who buys ANY official release from the artists I collect anyways so
it's not like I'm pulling Moby tracks off the web and not buying the CD's.
However, as for some of the other stuff I'm downloading off there, sorry
some of this stuff is hard as hell to find and I'll be damned if I'm paying
outrageous prices for imports or promos because record companies dick
around and don't make this stuff easily accessible.
