Yuck!
Looks like Mike D. is in for the 'Worst Remix of a Moby Track Ever Done'
award (http://www.nme.com/newsdesk/20000221122122.html)
Never heard such a crappy retro-seventies-remix before ... I always hope that
a remix makes the original version stand out more, makes it even more 'alive'
... One of the best examples to me still is the Move [Electro Mix] that some
(unnamed?) German DJ made (Moby used it on his mixed/remixed CD; I happen to
be the lucky owner of the TRANCESYLVANIA 2 CD with the full 7:44 version).
But Mike D. is merely boosting his ego, I guess, by fucking up Moby's version
the way he does.
Any suggestions for the runner-up?
Rob
P.S. I guess there will be someone who can appreciate this remix, but explain
to me why??

You can snatch them at your local convince store. There like a ice-cream

lime and cherry. I think they have bubblegum !
They sell them here and im going to buy a few bottles. Ill have a scan up on
my site later.

I wish this would be the V2 release.... It's (probably PCDMute251) Mute's
maxi promo CD, I've been trying very hard to find for the last 2 weeks.
It was on action records some time ago, but as lot's of people, I too saw
it too late and it was already sold. This will be, like the German Hymn
remix
CD, another "holy grale" for the Moby collector :(
This should be forbidded, so many great traxx on a promo!
Still, thanks for the info! I was looking for a tracklisting for this for
the
discography, of which version 4.04 will be released at the beginning
of March. It will have all the Natural Blues singles and some other
updates/additions.

hi everybody.
Just to say that for those who want, Moby french official site offers the=20
Natural Blues video in Real Audio. Enjoy at=20
http://www.labels.tm.fr/RealData/moby/video/naturalblues.rm
I had the opportunity to buy the long NB single because i was online when i=20
received action records update but 1 i was not sure of what was on it, 2 it=20
cost 10 =A3 so that i was quite expensive for something i wasn't sure of.=20
Though i think that V2 release will not be far of it if it's like Honey/Run=20
On & Bodyrock.
NB passed on the french TV, Honey is the music for a coffee ad (i think=20
Maxwell) and Play 8 months after its release was the most sold two weeks for=
=20
techno in a very important Cdshop. Who said the sell out ? (Thanks to the=20
Beach soundtrack by the way)
To Mark, your Hymn video is very nice but TOO SHORT ! I want the phonicoid=20
extended mix! :)
I WANT MY PLAY REMIXED ( a rumour or a real project ?)
See you,

howdy mobility
i'm not quite sure if anyone remembers me on this list, i've been lurking
for a while (kind of a lack of interest thing i guess). anyway, i've just
returned from a trip to belgium, making album covers for certain bands in
europe no one will ever hear of for a small profit, tasting beers and
enjoying the art noveau.
but enough about my trip, eh?
some of you might know about a band called Apoptygma Berzerk (eh-pop-tig-muh
for those who don't) and that they collaborated with moby on their last
album "7"...well, they've just released another album, and it is simply
INCREDIBLE. techno oriented? yes. got the usual "boom-tiss-boom-tiss"
beat? yeah. but the lyrics are so ingenius and meaningful they more than
make up for it. simply an awesome band and i definately recommend them to
mobility as a breath of fresh air.
take care!

From: Shaun Rader <docshasta@yahoo.com>
Subject: (mobility) Moby was on LA Radio this morning
Moby was on the radio this morning in LA (on KROQ) after they played
Natural Blues. They talked about a few things:
1) The benefit concert he did with Elton John recently - Moby said that
Elton John sang Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad in their performance. He
said that was ironic because the first song he learned to play on his
guitar at 9 years old was Crocodile Rock.
2) The Grammy Awards - The morning guys asked if he was performing or
presenting tonight and Moby said it was again ironic that he was to
present the Best Rap Album award. He mentioned that he loves hip hop
but he thought it was strange to have a skinny white guy present the
best rap award. He said he was going to wear a 1942 Frank Sinatra
style suit to the awards but he was thinking about wearing a Vanilla
Ice t-shirt or a shirt that says "Cracker" on it to present the rap
award.
3) His nominations - He mentioned how Bodyrock wasn't a rock song or an
instrumental. He also mentioned that he was hoping for Beck to win the
category that Play is up for (Best Alternative Album?). He said he
didn't have any acceptance speech ready but maybe he should so he
wouldn't look dumb twice on TV (I think the first was presenting the
Rap Award)
4) The CK Ad - He mentioned how he did it cause all his friends were
and also to give to charity. The dj's reminded Moby (who seemed
embarrassed) about what he wore to their Halloween DJ party (he wore
underwear and the Little Idiot sash)
That's all I can remember, if someone has it on tape post it to the ftp
site! Also if anyone caught him on TV recently it would be great to
have the mpg of it.
