oh god,
i just recieved william orbit's new version of barber's "adagio for
strings" in the mail and i must say, it's one of the most amazing things
i've heard in a long time. naturally it's kind of a loaded song 'cause
it's already amazing, but i challenge anyone to claim electronic music
is devoid of feeling after hearing it. for some reason it reminds me of
"blade runner." opressively beautiful. i very highly recommend it. if you
like "little idiot" you'll like this. i can't wait for the album!
the remix is by ferry corsten, the guy who did "why does my heart feel so
bad." now, just so you know, i love ferry corsten's work. so again, this
may be a bit biased, but he does another fine job here. this is a VERY
difficult song to imagine at a happy dancy tempo, but he pulls it off.
it's not his best effort, but still very nice. again, you should check
this out if you like his moby mix.

I'm going to empathise with you so you don't feel alone and maybe try to
explain to those people who are thinking "please get over it".
Even though I do my best to not consume any animal products, obviously
unawares, I have probably bought something that contributes to the
suffering. I was a vegetarian for many years and then I realised I was
living in my bedtime story land and had to eliminate the dairy (the last
product I was holding onto as a tea and cake conasseur!)
I guess the thing is, that if you are a vegan/vegetarian or even if you
still eat meat, but love animals, it is so distressing reading/seeing what
goes on. Some people can close this door in their head and cope, while
others, like me, the flood gates open and I completely loose it and want to
spend the rest of my life under my bed in foetal position :)
If you go through that pain, it is hard to understand why someone who has
also felt that pain, would compromise their beliefs - and I'm not saying he
has, I'm just empathising with you.
I guess art can contribute significantly to an evolution of thinking and
may be it's frustrating that the animal liberation movement sadly lacks in
the marketing department. For unfortunately, that's what it needs.
But there are so many specific battles to face. No one could take on all
of them. What I want to know is do humans have to treat other human beings
with more compassion and reason before we get to the animals and our
environment or can it happen concurrently......oh well, now I've completely
depressed myself.

I was laughing hysterically. My brother, who think Moby's a dork, was even

more crack. And the complexity of his soul line was hilarious...
Too bad he doesn't wear suede, or else he could wear some blue suede shoes,
that gold thing he wore to the VMA's and a big wig to the Grammy's.

Hey there folks,
I have an offer for whoever wants to take me up on it. My computer
died not to long ago, but before it did, I burned a CD for a friend of mine.
Its got tracks from the Moby performance on the HBO Reverb show and tracks
from the Dallas show moby performed last december. My friend never came to
pick it up. I think it has around 15 tracks on it but i'm not positive.
Here's the deal. He never asked about the disk and i forgot to mention
it to him. It seems to me that he's not nearly appreciative of the disk
(and therefore not deserving of it) Sooooo I was wondering if anyone would
pick up a copy of the moby rolling stone for me and we could do a trade. I
would of course pay for the Issue, you just pay for shipping! (shouldnt be
more than a dollar or two) You mail the issue to me, then i'll mail the $5
or so dollars and the CD to you. Sounds like a good deal to me, hopefully
it will sound similar to you! :)
I've looked all over Orlando for that damn magazine and i've given up.
Several of you have mentioned that you have seen many many issues so heres
your chance to prove it!
Email me privately
I would also like to point out that since i'm paying for the issue of the
magazine, I am making NO PROFIT from this cd. After the uproar a few weeks
ago (which included complaints from me) I wanted to make sure that everyone
realized this.
If you can help, I would really appreciate it!

I really hope he sticks to the giant onion costume for the grammies.
He has played it up so much that if he doesn't do it, it will be a bit of a
dissapointment.
And also, the daily show, was that not the same blonde wig from the animal

Yes, he was on cnn the other day discussing that topic, he used samples from
natural blues to illustrate his ideas about the future of music. We will have
obviously more creativity in our choices of music that we listen to. In the
interview he mentioned less of a divide between listener and composer. It's a
very interesting topic. I wonder about the future of radio..

Natural Blues, that is...
Got this today:
=====================================
NATURAL BLUES promo 2 [Feb 2000]
UK 12", Mute, PL12Mute251
A _:__ Natural Blues (Dimec Heads Remix)
AA _:__ Natural Blues (Katcha Mix)
=====================================
I know I should write an elaborate review, but I'm speechless...
Both are massive clubtrance mixes that make your skin creep.
I'll try to write a little snippet as soon as I've found the words to
describe these 2 unbelievable musical visions on Moby's original.
I can't promise anything, but I'll try to upload the Katcha Mix to the
ftp site tomorrow if we can get the ISDN internet server to work.
I know I have been saying to some of you that more ultra rare stuff
will get uploaded by me, and it will! Just be patient :)

Hello everyone,
If this has already been mentioned I'm sorry (I'm on the digest format).
There is a guy who claims to be a friend os moby's selling a couple of items
on ebay. Item #260980942 are supposedly the actual shoes worn by moby on
the cover to play. I couldn't help but get a chuckle when reading about it.
I think he is asking for 70 dollars, it might be 40 though.
The second item #260989882 is from the same guy. He is selling the movie
"space water onion" which is this little independent sci fi film. I
remember reading that name in the liner notes to I like to score but never
having heard of the film. The movie sounds kinda interesting actually.
And finally, guess how many copies of "play" have we sold at the Borders
store in Champaign IL? 69!!!! Huh, huh (that was supposed to be a butthead
voice)
