I don't know if anyone heard about this or saw it today, but on sonicnet
they're saying Moby will be doing the music for an upcoming film for John
Waters.
The way I found the article (since I didn't see a link on the frontpage was
I went to:

and searched for MOBY and you'll see it under latest news.

Moby is quoted as saying
"If someone likes a record I made, I almost feel like I owe them something.
... Like I should take them out shoe shopping, or clean their bathroom or
something."

Anyways, does anyone know anything about that 4th unidentified MOBY track?

well, i just found out about it spontaneously through some link i found.
sadly, it just so happened that i only caught a quarter of the whole
performance.. :*(

here's a few highlights:
- -he started singing FSR in a country version then let it flow into its
awesome hardcore intro.
- -performed 'revolver' by request
- -thousand... i think we all know the intensity of this one

umm... i think the best way to check up on something like this is to see if
the venue moby's playing at has a website or something.  after trying my best
to journey through that website, with the assistance of
http://translator.go.com, i couldn't find an archive.  oh well... i'll
definitely put in an effort into finding anymore rare moby live performances
in the future.. :)

Great, though would V2 have the rights to anything pre-Play?  Why don't you
get moby involved?  Get on this--you have a guaranteed buyer right here
along with alot of others in the world, just make sure it's region free!

And yet they continue to be employed?  Have they read any market reports?
Have they read any industry news?  Every studio (now that Divx is dead) has
committed to the DVD platform!  It's been 3 years and already sales are
almost neck and neck.  What the hell, do you have the three stooges as the
heads of your marketing dept.?!?!

Please, DVD has already been "established", even if certain people are
apprehensive about it, that is no reason not to deny releasing a VHS version
with the eventual hope of releasing DVD.

Then you probably weren't around in the early 90s and before--They didn't
have any of that bullshit, infact I remember an article about how MTV made
the decision to add extras on the screen--1.  Opportunities for ads DURING
videos and 2.  Because lo and behold if a crappy video came on people would
change the channel;  They believed putting extra stuff on that would pique
people's interest would make them stop channel surfing.

The VJ did no such thing;  Everytime something original and interesting was
said it was Moby who interupted or digressed that prompted it.

Others have, any one remember "The Box"?  In fact, a while ago there were
about 3 or 4 channels that were either available through satellite or on
limited syndication through local cable companies,  Even MTV itself has M2,
all infinitely more decent than MTV will ever be again.  The reason for
their failure?  Bought out and shut down or not carried by cable companies
because they already have a "music video" channel, fuck all.

hey folks, this new host of 120 might be a dip, but
dont diss hhim ok? they have to have someone host it
so  there he is. the point is not to watch it to see
him, but to see moby. i thought the interview was nice
and funny. as he said, they didnt actually give him
any questions so he just said whatever. that was
interesting when he just said "....so we could talk
about your car or something" and i though moby was
gonna say "i dont drive cars, i never drive cars" or
sumthin.... well that surprised me. wow. and also,
they ahve a valid point about "Bodyrock" is that
really an instrumental? they were saying if it won
(please God please!) best instrumental, then it would
be disqualified becuase it had vocals, and that it
would be the first disqualified on technical reasons.
of course milli Vanilli was disqualified on technical
reasons too... how could we forget that? :)

anyway, um i just want to add that i think Matt
Pinfield is mad annoying, and i never want to see him
again. i dont care if he knows something about Aphex
Twin or something. he still is damn annoying. ugh.

ok all vote at TRL for moby! now! come on u ahve to do

It was a good idea to put Christina Ricci in that video, it's someone people
can identify with..

Heh last year's winner for best rock instrumental was el Distorto De
Melodica by Everclear..which is a kickass song, but that had some screaming
in it..so I guess that kinda had vocals in it too.

I was listening to Leonard Cohen today and he has a mobyish sounding piano
song on the end of his album "The Future"..that album is terrific...

The new issue of Rolling Stone Magazine will have 4 different back covers.
One will feature Moby.  As an added bonus, select copies will include a
limited edition Moby cd with unreleased material.  Please make sure you don't
buy issues with any other artist on the back cover expecting to find a Moby
CD.  There are 3 other artists involved with the promotion and they will all
have promotional CDs in select copies.  If you see a shrinkwrapped copy,
please check the back cover.  If that shot is of Moby, there should be a Moby
CD inside.  This does not apply to the current issue (with Melissa Etheridge
and David Crosby on the cover).

According to Mobymail and Allstar, I think you can get it off the newstands,
but you have to make sure it has moby on the back cover or else you won't get
the moby bonus disk...  I guess it's the next issue, non-Melissa Ethridge.
