I was browsing on a site where I wanted to buy those Trophy releases as I
found for Lopez this:
Emptiness (Ok)
Why can't it stop (Ok too)
Close To You =>what's that ?
Don't give the tracks but say that it is dance and from Elect (does it stand
for Elektra as they can't put th totality of the letters ? )
If someone know something about it, please tell me as I attend to put it on
my Xmas list.
That's all folks ....
Matthieu
Note: Does Porno will have a soundtrack ? If yes, would that mean new Moby
songs ? Hope so.....

As far as I know since I have those cd's, it's actually 2 cd's.
The first cd has the following tracks:
1. Emptiness
2. Fucked up
The 2nd cd:
1. Why Can't It Stop?
2. The Dirty Underground
3. Everybody Can do It
It doesn't say anything about Elektra. Hope that helped you somewhat!
Cheers

last time moby djed in denver was back in september when he put on that free
show for KTCL. anyway, he did a lot of funkish old skool stuff, nothing i
recognized at all, but very good job. between beatmixing, he would stop,
take off his headphones, and sign stuff. really cool
as for dj rap, i saw her spin , also for KTCL, at the same record store
actually. she spun a jungle mix that i found impressive. she however didnt
sign while spinning.. jungle is evidently harder to mix..

yes, you're correct, aphex twin did indeed send out a press release stating
that he was quitting thew music business. however, there is something oyu
should know abotu the twin. richard d. james LOVES to lie. especially in
interviews , press releases, etc. there is really no telling what he'll do
unitl he does it.
last i heard, he was working as a producer and working with chris cunningham
(director of his "come to daddy" and "windowlicker" videos as well as
madonna's "frozen" and a couple others i believe) on a short film. one would
naturally assume he'd be scoring it... but then i assume nothing when it
comes to richard.
i would love a new album, but then windowlicker was a pretty dissappointing
effort. the title song was pretty weak (even if the video is very enjoyable).
the song never really has a focus, and it seems almost like it was built
around the video. the second song on there is richard at his best though. i
would love to see a return to the man's more ambient roots...

alrighty.. i doubt my post made it to the list.. considering i never saw it
on there...
anyway, to settle the aphex twin thing... richard james did infact live up
to himself, aphex twin is not defunct, new album(s) are to be expected in
2000.. he said he needs to finish out his record contract with Warp, hes
got something like 200 songs that hes made and hasnt released yet. so,
expect something along the lines of a collection or a number of singles w/o
an album.

Hi Kimby,
I do agree with you in some respects (re:porn). I guess I'm an idealist.
But even when a women is in control of the production process, how does
this effect other women......objectification? I guess it all comes down to
the finished product and what it conveys. It may be argued that the
consumer could be seen as being exploited in this situation as well,
spending money and having unreal expectations on their partners. It's a
circular argument.
I think I just have a more naturalistic approach to sexuality, how you
express yourself individually, it's emotional effects etc. I am not sure
anyone who suffered abuse or surrounds sex with fear would benefit from
these tapes. I think the only thing the producers have in mind when they
make this stuff is money. This is of course different to professional
sexual therapy.
I agree that sexuality should not be suppressed but I am not certain that
it's freedom is best expressed in this medium. I think over time we have
confused ourselves with religious ideas about nudity/sexuality/sin. I
think the female symbol of mother earth has been nearly completely
misconstrued by centuries of society.
This is something I shall never see clearly!
Thanks for your ideas. Sorry if I'm boring everyone else.

Speaking of his cK ad....when it does come out can someone please scan it
and put it online? I don't pick up fashion mags at all so i would never
see it otherwise. Oh and if you see it on a billboard or something take a
picture of it and put it online too! That would be cool. :)

Moby just came up on the Bjork mailing list the other day!! :D
Hmmmm....i would love to hear Moby try his hand at mixing a Bjork tune. I
think the results would be great...either very ambient and dreamy or high
energy and danceable.

i APOLOGISE FOR THE PREVIOUSE MESSAGE, the fact the printer has no
paper probably is of no consequence to you, but what is all this shit
about worst song anyway, we all like different styles of music for f**ks
sake. We aren't saying these songs are bad, just the style is not what
wer like, non rock fans hate AR, well, they probably wouldn't like other
rock music, so it's hardly a critisism of Moby, people like me are not
really into all his dance stuff, but I'm not really into dance stuff,

Printers make it their vocation in life to try the sanity of even the most
composed computer operators. I think sometimes I am two "paper jams" away

Hmmm...i'm not the best at describing the different genres and sub-genres
of "electronic" music since it seems to break up into new categories every
day - i couldn't tell ya jump-up from techstep to progressive to whatever,
ya know... ;)
But, i would take a gander and say that Moby spins kind of a Hard Trance
almost with a Techno'ish tip sometimes. What do you all say?

Exacty. Huh?
I love that song. Pretty Hate Machine is the best!
I know it's off topic to talk about NIN but I would have to say that
Trent was putting out much more interesting (though slightly musically
imature) material before Spiral. I love Spiral but I think that it's
the start of this Trent who was influenced by the cash flow, popularity
and now he's moving in a direction that feels to me as if he's pulling
away from that and heading back to his more humanishness but his music
has already been tainted and will never be the same.
I'm not making sense am I? Nail polish fumes probably. :-)
