Uh, no. "Mooby" was the golden calf(ie a metaphor for Disney/kids
entertainment--an IDOL, much like the Idol in the book of Exodus, from which
the reference is most assuradly taken from, the isrealites erect a golden
calf to worship and God strikes them down for worshiping a false idol.)
It's just a variation of the sound a cow makes, MOOO, and the ending of
"Mickey" as in Mickey Mouse(for which it was an analogy).
I doubt that Smith knows about Moby, or listens to his music, I think he
prefers Jazz, but I don't remember.

I'm off to see Moby tomorrow night at Bay 33 in Sydney. Looking forward to it, as the last time I saw him play was at the Reading festival when he did his Animal Rights stuff, which is far too long ago.
