on the Bush remix cd (sorry, i had to get it for
Goldie and Tricky and MBM and besides i used to like
Bush) the remixes for "Everything Zen" and i think a
few others.. theyre all fucked up! like, don't people
notice this?
whatever, its not like its easy. i could never
properly remix something like that.
i heard the Ferry corsten mix, i think. its not bad,
but well i dont really think any mixes could ever
replace originals. whatever, bye!

What I hate is when different samples are out of sync. Even a couple of
Moby tracks are like this. I love the b-side "Sunday", but I really do not
like the beginning sound that's kind of moving back and forth. :P It's
just out of sync with the rest of what's going on.
A *lot* of techno has that problem, and it drives me nuts. You'd notice it
in any other kind of music. It's like a rock band where everyone's playing
one song, except the drummer, who's playing some complete different and
improvised song inspired by the voices in his head. (this seems to happen
quite often to local bands) :P

i aggree, most of the really great moby stuff is non-pop.

well, i can't go along with that bob dylan guy, but like it has been

love aphex twin's vocals on his past few records, like that milkman

Subject: (mobility) Q Magazine & New Years
Well I just picked up the newest Q magazine in the vague hope they'd have a
review of Bt's cd (yeah right). But in one of they're little blurby side
bars (Air time i think) they were very very rude to moby. They were raving
about Play of course, but they called him a baldy-vegan (not bad, but they
gave it a negative connotation) and called him a bore. I have never put the
words Moby and bore together in as long as I've know about him. I really was
about to hurl that damn stogy ass magazine out the window.. I though
American magazines overlooked the genius, I guess mainstream british pubs are
just as bad... Least RS rated Everything is Wrongs as one of the greatest
albums of the 90's (which was very very cool)... Grr.. totally ruined my
evening until I saw that cute Moby picture in RS...
Ne a hoo ~ anyone know if Moby's doing a New Year's gig? I know there's some
huge techno legends thing in England which made me very upset, but that's not
really his scene anymore with Play. Ne 1 know? Any one? Any one? What a
way that would be to bring in the new decade (and it's not the millenium so
it extends the fun over 2 years) =)

Wow.. that sounds cool... That reminded me a version of Kraftwerk's
"We are the robots", performed by a string quartet... Most amazing was
the cellos (I swear) that seemed to pronounce that "We are the
robots".. My skin always get chickenish when I listen to it.

I'd like to get to listen to it...
By the way, and (more or less) talking about versions... Do you know
if there has been any strings version of some Moby song ? I'd like the
guys that recorded Kraftwerk's do the same with some Moby's...

some people wouldn't say so. it's always society's call as to whether a
drug is bad, whether it's illegal (or hey, even whether it's
mind-altering).

by "allowing" people to continue doing it, they are saying it is okay.
if we, as a people, didn't think it was okay, alcoholic beverages would
be illegal, or at least any negative behavior stemming from their use
would be punished much more harshly.

if you ask a little kid, "why are drugs bad?" what will she say? *I*
was just trying to say, however ineloquently, that we're told what is
good and what is bad for us, and we usually accept it without
questioning it. How could "Reefer Madness" happen otherwise?

maybe there wasn't anything shocking there--i didn't feel like spending 27 hours
looking for sites with explicit pictures on them just to satisfy people who
aren't going to care, anyway.

yes, i do think they care. some of them. i think you're missing my point, tho.
i couldn't give a fuck if a life is human or animal, they're worth the same
thing to me. discounting personal affections of course. don't say "ya, you'd
be singin a different tune if your mom was gonna die," because that's stupid.
as a matter of fact, i have human rights links on my site, and human rights
stickers on my car. but i'm not going to have a disclaimer on everything i say,
that "Hey, i dont just like animals, guys, I like people, too! so please like
me!" in a more or less unrelated conversation.
> heh, re-evaluate the situation, and you can see that

MY views aren't practical for the world's population? are you blind? or
stupid? can you not see that, besides the fact that people are eating
themselves to death, the earth is being raped to make room for cows, and other
animal farming. you can feed up to 21 times as many people with an acre of
plants as you can with an acre of land where cows graze. How is that
impractical? With all the starving people all over, as you were so wont to
bring up, why can't we use that land to feed 21 times as many people? do you
really think they care whether they're eating vegetables or meat?

you said cows are all outside, frolicking in the meadows. i showed you pictures
of cows inside, in crates. i think lions do what they need to do to survive.
in nature. i think we do what we want to do, no matter who it hurts (which does
include us, as humans). obviously, if i don't eat meat, i won't die. but a
lion might.

dude, i really did not think that he carried all his tour shit on his bike. i'm
talking about like, going to a store that's a half a mile away, something like
that. i don't know about his lifestyle, only what i've heard. and from someone
as vehemently anti-combustion engine as he is, i would suspect he doesn't drive
a car when he could ride his bike, practically. but i don't know. i don't know
the man.

i understand that, likely, all humans will never become vegetarians (at least of
their own volition). But, with that in mind, i would be ecstatic to know that
cows are treated well while they're alive, and are killed with as much kindness
as possible. There is more than just the two extremes.. it's just usually the
extremists who speak out. i think you would be surprised by how many people
would be satisfied with just the humane treatment of animals raised for meat.
> for us to stop pollution, we must ride bikes and not cars
you're simplifying things to make other people look bad. no one said that you
have to ride a bike in order to stop pollution. people *are* looking at other
options, or there wouldn't be electric cars right now. The issue has to be
brought up, however, in order for people to want to change it. should we not
talk about it?
> and
> to stop the rainforest from falling we must stop using paper...
> like ok, those are solutions..but they sure as hell aren't practical...
why aren't they practical? because people are lazy, because they don't like
change? most people aren't asking you to stop using paper. they're asking for
you to recycle, and for companies to use renewable resources rather than old
growth and rainforest trees.

cheese.

maybe my views are impractical. but so are yours. and i don't see how me
sitting on my ass and keeping quiet about what i think is going to help
*anyone,* least of all me. and if you're so tired of people coming up with
impractical solutions, why don't you come up with some practical solutions of
your own?
