Ok...you people can send all your emails about the treatment of animals and
this and that..and that advertisers make us believe we need to eat meat,
drink milk and whatever...basic thing is..
a lot of "vegans" became vegan after they saw this treatment of animals or
whatever, and saw how meat is made....like do you guys really think you were
born vegan. We are animals....do all animals just eat plants? hell they eat
each other..there is a predator and a prey..their is a FOOD CHAIN. Even
plants eat animals...You guys ever heard of Carniverous plants? Carnivorous
plants are those which attract, capture, kill, and digest invertebrates (and
the occasional vertebrate). Hundreds of species of plants from several
genera are carnivorous. The poison their prey, paralyze them and devour
them. Plants have been proven to communicate with each other...they emit
impulses and gases that communicate with each other. You guys seem to be
able to eat plants just fine. Just because they stand still, and don't
make sad faces at you. If you like eating just plants then that is fine and
dandy. But I am getting these emails saying I am product of some conspiracy
or campaign that makes me believe I have to eat meat and milk, I eat it
because I like it. I am getting all these vegan url's shoved down my throat.
I been to a slaughterhouse, I seen it firsthand. It is a natural thing to
eat meat, no matter how we get the meat off, it has to happen some way. Sure
the way animals are slaughtered and killed may suck...but nature is
cruel...watch some Discovery Channel footage. I'm not justifying anything,
I'm just saying...don't keep telling me to be vegan is better when it is not
even a natural feeding habit.............if you want to come up with some
more humane way for me to eat meat, then by all means come up with an
idea.....
I really wish we could go back to talking about Moby's music. Anyone ever
hear the SMPTE coding in the background (the high frequency buzzing) that is
put onto tape to sync with other machines...usually this is muted out so you
can't hear it, I just found it odd that he would make it audible. This
proves though that he does not just use all digital equipment, so he likes
the sound of analog tape, which I found interesting..of course I major in
Audio, so...probably no one else cares about this :P anyways...
enough..

It was Paper Magazine. I nabbed it today. I read his article and was
saddened because he seems a sadly realistic man. At the end it has his
dream of meeting and marrying a wonderful woman and then moving to a large
range of land and saving money. But he then stated that his future will
probably be holing up in the woods, making music and putting cassettes in his
mailbox for whoever wants to pick them up. How tragically sad is that? Just
makes me want to cry.
On the other hand, when flipping through the magazine (I'm not done reading
it yet) I totally freaked out because it had a picture of Paris Hilton in
there. I went to school with that girl! For a year at least, guess she
moved back to NY. She wanted me to introduce her to my brother. Now she's
partying up with Michael Stipe?! Figures. Weird, weird world.

Chris you are absolutely right and I'm siding on you on this one. I think
there should be a new form of eating where plant cruelty is ended. Think how
many needless heads of lettuce are killed every day to fill all those
supermarket bins.

Subject: (mobility) lyrics to some 'play' songs
i recently, actually finally, purchased play. i think it's a great cd. it
has qickly become of my favorites out of all my cds. i noticed there are a
lot of lyrics in the songs on this cd. however some are kind of hard to
hear. anyway to get to the point i was wondering if anyone knows the lyrics
to parts of these songs in these parts.
in natural blues what is she saying? is it 'oooo laudy, i trouble so hard'
or 'ooooo laudy ive got my troubles with god'? i can't figure this out.
and in 'bodyrock' what does he say after he repeats 'we rock the body, rock
the body, c'mon, we rock the body, rock the body, c'mon' then he says
something like 'c'mon we gonna set you free' tha'ts the part i can't get.
that's all i was wondering.

K ~ As I was purusing Paper Mag with the beautiful Moby on the cover, I read
the section where they asked a whole slew of different people what they
envisioned for the future. Moby's list (it's kinda long):
Faxes that can transmit and reconstruct matter. Put a pencil in your fax
machine and an exact relicate comes out of someone else's. Or a doughnut.
Or a guitar. (or a rare can't not be found Moby recording, but that's just
to good to be true)
Giant bridges constructed in space and brought down to Earth, like a
transactlantic brdige running between Newfoundland and Brittany. Or between
Miami and Havana. Or Japan and Korea. Or Australia and New Zealand. (Oh
the possibilities on that one)
Artificial actors, created exclusively by computers. (Personally, I don't
see what the difference would be, but maybe I'm missing something)
Beaches on Manhattan that we can swim from
Mainstream advertismenets with hardcore pornographic images. (??)
Designer recreational drugs that are nutritous and good for you (sounds good
to me)
Genetically engineered microorganisms that live within us and perform
specific tasks, like destroying fat deposits, cancer cells, etc. (Yes, but
what happens when these organisms get greedy and try to take over the host?
Sorry too many movies)
New sex organs desiged by plastic surgeons. ( I don't know how to take this
one,is he unsatisfied with what he has or is it he wants an entirely new
concept. Guys, give me a male perspective on this one cuz I have no clue. )
And then guess who else was included in the poll? One of our favorite
vocalists, Mimi Goese. Her list:
Reverse microwaves to instantly cool beer and make ice in seconds.
And that's it for Mimi.
Just thought I would share because I almost completely overlooked it and
found it to be really interesting.
Toodles.

There is a small picture of Moby crouching on his keyboard (looks like)
accompanying an article about the Coachella music festival in the current
issue of Rolling Stone with Rage Against the Machine on the cover. (on
page 38)
Also, I found a little archive of photos of Moby from Coachella that was
posted on another mailing list i'm on. A few nice ones of the man.

Drinking is not extreme, NOT drinking is extreme i mean. But to the drugs, i
wouldn't be so sure about drugs being worse than alcohol. ( and anybody stop
blaming me that alcohol is a drug too, i'm sure we all understand the
difference). I think so, because the alcohol is much more popular and much more
accepted. Alcohol destroys families, alcohol encourages to make bad things and
is even an ability to get weaker punishment for doing them.
I mean, the drugs cause bigger damage, but to less people. Opposite to them
alcohol causes less damage, but to almost everyone.
Does anybody know any politician addicted to heroin ? But i know several
politicians addicted to Rum and Vodka and i would bet my left hand that they
made some important decisions under the influence just because alcohol is
considered to be OK.
i don't forbid to drink. i just dislike the consequences.
everybody have a nice gay !

AAAAAAAnyway, i had to watch TRL yestrday cuz BECK was
on it worldpremiering his new video "Sexxlaws" and
while CAAAHson was interviewing BECK, they played "Run

watching BECK and then im like hey this sounds like

that a great video. so damn funny. we should all be
glad theres someone like BECK out there who can do all
sorts of weird shit and just totally give the finger
to what people expect of pop muzik and just be a crazy
freak. i mean, BECK is one of the few commercially
successful people today who are just out there. the
beastie boys are kind of like that, but only on the
album trax and remixes, the singles are sort of
straitforward ya know? and of course Moby is a little
bit out there but then again hes not exactly
commercially successful, in a TRL/commercial radio
kind of way like Beck or Beasties are.
i mean, at least in the 60s and 70s when muzzik was
more psychadelic, there were some people who were just
DIFFERENT. now, everybody is the same. you know? turn
on the radio, you hear some lame rap song over an old
80s song that sucks anyway, or some recycled trend
like swing or that "mambo 5" idiot, or lame recycled
mediocre "modern rock" or some teenybopper advertising
for Abercrombie and Fitch. (not only that but now
nobody will ever hear of Low Frequency Oscillation
again...) so at least some folks like Beck and
Beasties and Moby are willing to take risks.
stop these issues posts. no politics on the dance
floor.
oh yeah, they played the new Beasties video. cute,
their usual oldschool tomfoolery, nothing too special.
but request that or Beck on TRL page and tell them to
put S&O back on! oh yeah, the S&O tribute album is
ready! email me for the address to send 4 bucks and a
blank CD or blank 60 min tape to. i'm on 2wo trax on
this, so if you wanna hear me fuck up some Sifl & Olly

Okay, I'll grant you some of that, but people are not guarenteed to become
addicted to alcohol, and it is more controlable. Yeah people get addicted,
but if you take percentages of people who drink and people who shoot up
heroin, I bet a large percentage would be "addicted" to heroin. Alcohol is
fine as long as you exhibit some self control. If there's a history of
alcoholism in your family, then yeah, you should stay away from it. Like I
said, have a few drinks every once in awhile is not the end of the world.

Woo hoo! ANother Beck addict! I heard rumors of TRL but that would mean I
would have to actually watch the show so I passed. I can't stand Carson and
he's from my home town (palm springs). And that would recquire subjecting
myself to BSB and NSYNC and Brittany Spears.. Sides I thought he had a
special or something on Sunday night.. I love unconvential artists like
Beck, Moby, Presidents of the United STates (pity they're gone now), and
anyone else that can make me laugh (JUDE!). But anyways, I don't really like
this whole Moby on MTV concept. MAkes me feel less special. Before, if I
asked someway what they thought of Moby, they would always go who? But now,
it's oh yeah, that bald jumping dude, he's cool. (sidebar, Moby said he's
balding... How can anyone tell?) Just makes me feel less elite. But oh
well, he deserves the recognition, I'm just being silly.
