That would be Tracey Thorn and she is one of my favorites. Not just her
work with EBTG but her work with Adam F, Deep Dish and Massive Attack too,
what a voice on that woman.

Yahoo!!!
The MOBILITY Mailing List turned THREE years old today. It "first
became operational on October 24, 1996." So I thought I would write a
quick email to everyone sharing some information. :)
First, I am in heaven because I finally received the releases for
"Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?"... two CD's and four vinyl's!
Unfortunately, I picked up the mail at 2:30am and cannot blast this
beautiful music through my stereo system without waking up others, hehe.
It has been a great year for the mailing list! Compared with many
others, we are still a small group but I'm okay with that. We have just
over 200 non-digest members and more than 100 digest members. As all
mailing lists do, many have come and gone. A few old time favs have
drifted away but hopefully they'll be back some day.
I want to recognize some "old timers" that are still around such as
Daniel Cerman (owner of the massive www.moby.org) who was the second
person to subscribe (after my own automatic subscription of course).
He's extremely busy as of late and cannot participate like in the past
but he still maintains the user friendly archives that are just
absolutely huge at this point. He's been a godsend in many ways through
that past three to four years. Thank you Dan for everything!
Next is Chris <cdperk@trib.com>, then there's Dan (digest)
<danperry@execpc.com>, Xaq <zbentz@d.umn.edu>, Shaun <srader@uci.edu>,
John (digest) <jct1@ra.msstate.edu>, Elie <Chilidiba9@aol.com>,
Eekmaus@aol.com (who I don't think I've heard from in a while), Jake
<rockmanrock@hotmail.com>, Mary <maryj19@loop.com> ... well you get the
point, the list goes on. These men and women have been here from the
start and provide great support to the list.
I'm not forgetting the newbies. It's good to see so many! I absolutely
love seeing your introductions and if you haven't sent one... it is
never too late. If you are interested, send a profile of yourself to be
viewed on the web (http://www.xmission.com/~damian/profiles.html) - as
for the old timers... maybe you should send an update. I'll be updating
the page throughout the week (and yes Andy I got your email, hehe).
Other great things... first and foremost... Moby, yes, MOBY has been
checking in on occasion, keeping a watchful eye and contributing when he
can. Rock! We've had a ton of great new music from MOBY to freak out
about! Wonderful reviews and support across the board. Fun appearances
all abound (David Letterman, Conan, MTV, P.I., etc.). Two great music
labels to distribute the goods (thank you Mute & V2). Moreover the
chance to see Moby live in concert (my second time... and the first in
my hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah)!!! We love the hard work. :)
Maybe I'm rambling at this point so I will shut down for now. There are
a few problems here and there (my outdated web pages for one) and the
lack of respect emerging on the list. Everybody check yourselves... we
have got so much to be happy about!
For now, over and out...

Ok I know that Moby used to DJ alot. I was wondering if he ever put out a
mixtape? And I know that Moby is getting back into DJ again. I think it
would be really awesome if he put out a mixtape. i saw him in Minneapolis
right before Play came out and he tore up the dancefloor or well Ground
because it was outside. So Moby if you are reading what do you think a
little side project for you. You could send it out to you fans on this list,
for like a x-mas gift like Pearl jam does. Not like you compare to them
though. Totally different styles. Well I just thought that would be awesome.
well bye bye
Take care everyone

Subject: (mobility) very interesting Bodyrock news
shit i was online like 3 hhours yesterday and i have
no reason to be on toady but anyway i was at WPKN
fundraising (only about $20k away but we still need yr
help! 203 384 9756!) and i found the stash of CMJ NMR
weeeklies and i looked thru the new one and under the
Dance column it has some news, it sez that he shot the
new Bodyrock vid while in New York for the MTV awards,
and it features MANY old school rap stars.... i forgot
to write em down or anything but i think it sed it
includes like Fab 5 Freddy and various members of Run
DMC, i THINK..... the video was directed by the same
guy who directed "Can I Get A..." by Jay Z AND the
intereesting part is that Moby is rumoured to be
contributing to the soundtrack to the sequel to the
movie Friday! wow! that should boost his hip-hop cred!
Anybody get The Box? is it in rotation (Bodyrock that
is) where you are? its not in rotation at our box!
however, the new Leftfield video is, and i actually
saaw it a few days ago.... that is a sick video!!!! it
was by Chris Cunningham (figures.....) and according
to CMJ it was actually banned in England daytime. wow.
see, theres this black guy whos like this zombie and
hes hopping around NYC (i think) and some guy smashes
into him and one of his arms falls off.... so hes
walking around with no arm.... and then he trips into
a puddle and one of his legs falls off.... and then
hes hopping around and then theres like all these
white boys breakdancing like in a parking garage and
then Afrika Bambaataa himself (i guess) comes out of
the booth and then the zombie like crashes on the
floor and AB is like "do you need a hand?" (OUCH!) and
then at the end a car crashes into the zombie and he
blows up. yeech. thats pretty creepy. then agian its
by the same guy who did "Come To Daddy" who scared the
shhit out of a billion teenyboppers but at least that
one was kinda funny. this one is just pure creepy. and
there new CD isnt as good as their first one either
(tho sum of it is pretty phat, like the song "Dusted"
and "Phat Planet" is pretty good too")
anybody hear that Bob Marley "Sun Is Shining" remix?
thats actually pretty good. i havent heard the
original tho, its supposed to be pretty rare i
heard.....
one more thing: YESTERDAY WAS WEIRD ALS BIRTHDAY HES
40 YAY!!!!!!!! so i told that to Dave Golden at WPKN
this morn and he said we should play "Bohemian Polka"
and i wasnt even looking for it but i found the cd
case for the "Alapalooza" album but there was no CD
in it! crap! so we couldnt play it. damn, thats some
mad funny shit tho.

Okay, to balance out my annoyed retort. I just got the weirdest single I
have ever purchased while looking for WDMHFS.
Plastikman "Sickness"
That guy is insane. Track 2 is like having a ball bearing in yer head. Get
it.
I can't wait for Tuesday. WDMH and Deep Forest "Made in japan!" Yes
>hate is alive
What? I just made a comment. I didn't say kill the gays I didn't say hate
the gays. Talk about hypocrisy and closed-minds
>anything other than White, Christian and Male is evil. Why not mind
You're absolutely right. That's why I just went to Tijuana to help build a
church in one of the poorest parts of town and I just got back... Us white
Christian males are so evil.
