  68. The MOBILITY Mailing List turned THREE years old today.  It "first
  69. became operational on October 24, 1996."  So I thought I would write a
  70. quick email to everyone sharing some information.  :)
  71.  
  72. First, I am in heaven because I finally received the releases for 
  73. "Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?"... two CD's and four vinyl's! 
  74. Unfortunately, I picked up the mail at 2:30am and cannot blast this
  75. beautiful music through my stereo system without waking up others, hehe.
  76.

  78. It has been a great year for the mailing list!  Compared with many
  79. others, we are still a small group but I'm okay with that.  We have just
  80. over 200 non-digest members and more than 100 digest members.  As all
  81. mailing lists do, many have come and gone.  A few old time favs have
  82. drifted away but hopefully they'll be back some day.
  83.  
  84. I want to recognize some "old timers" that are still around such as
  85. Daniel Cerman (owner of the massive www.moby.org) who was the second
  86. person to subscribe (after my own automatic subscription of course). 
  87. He's extremely busy as of late and cannot participate like in the past
  88. but he still maintains the user friendly archives that are just
  89. absolutely huge at this point.  He's been a godsend in many ways through
  90. that past three to four years.  Thank you Dan for everything!

  101. love seeing your introductions and if you haven't sent one... it is

  104. for the old timers... maybe you should send an update.  I'll be updating
  105. the page throughout the week (and yes Andy I got your email, hehe).

  108. Other great things... first and foremost... Moby, yes, MOBY has been
  109. checking in on occasion, keeping a watchful eye and contributing when he
  110. can.  Rock!  We've had a ton of great new music from MOBY to freak out
  111. about!  Wonderful reviews and support across the board.  Fun appearances
  112. all abound (David Letterman, Conan, MTV, P.I., etc.).  Two great music
  113. labels to distribute the goods (thank you Mute & V2).  Moreover the
  114. chance to see Moby live in concert (my second time... and the first in
  115. my hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah)!!!  We love the hard work.  :)

  119. a few problems here and there (my outdated web pages for one) and the
  120. lack of respect emerging on the list.  Everybody check yourselves... we

  135. mixtape?  And I know that Moby is getting back into DJ again. I think it 
  136. would be really awesome if he put out a mixtape. i saw him in Minneapolis 
  137. right before Play came out and he tore up the dancefloor or well Ground 
  138. because it was outside. So  Moby if you are reading what do you think a 
  139. little side project for you. You could send it out to you fans on this list, 
  140. for like a x-mas gift like Pearl jam does. Not like you compare to them 
  141. though. Totally different styles. Well I just thought that would be awesome.

  369. shit i was online like 3 hhours yesterday and i have
  370. no  reason to be on toady but anyway i was at WPKN
  371. fundraising (only about $20k away but we still need yr
  372. help! 203 384 9756!) and i found the stash of CMJ NMR
  373. weeeklies and i looked thru the new one and under the
  374. Dance column it has some news, it sez that he shot the
  375. new Bodyrock vid while in New York for the MTV awards,
  376. and it features MANY old school rap stars.... i forgot
  377. to write em down or anything but i think it sed it
  378. includes like Fab 5 Freddy and various members of Run
  379. DMC, i THINK.....  the video was directed by the same
  380. guy who directed "Can I Get A..." by Jay Z AND the
  381. intereesting part is that Moby is rumoured to be
  382. contributing to the soundtrack to the sequel to the
  383. movie Friday! wow! that should boost his hip-hop cred!

  386. is) where you are? its not in rotation at our box!
  387. however, the new Leftfield video is, and i actually
  388. saaw it a few days ago.... that is a sick video!!!! it
  389. was by Chris Cunningham (figures.....) and according
  390. to CMJ it was actually banned in England daytime. wow.
  391. see, theres this black guy whos like this zombie and
  392. hes hopping around NYC (i think) and some guy smashes
  393. into him and one of his arms falls off.... so hes
  394. walking around with no arm.... and then he trips into
  395. a puddle and one of his legs falls off.... and then
  396. hes hopping around and then theres like all these
  397. white boys breakdancing like in a parking garage and
  398. then Afrika Bambaataa himself (i guess) comes out of
  399. the booth and then the zombie like crashes on the
  400. floor and AB is like "do you need a hand?" (OUCH!) and
  401. then at the end a car crashes into the zombie and he
  402. blows up. yeech. thats pretty creepy. then agian its
  403. by the same guy who did "Come To Daddy" who scared the
  404. shhit out of a billion teenyboppers but at least that
  405. one was kinda funny. this one is just pure creepy. and
  406. there new CD isnt as good as their first one either
  407. (tho sum of it is pretty phat, like the song "Dusted"
  408. and "Phat Planet" is pretty good too")
