Well, to be truthful, Moby kind of freaked me out. It looked like he was
trying to give what the audience expected a singer w/a band. But seriously,
the hand thing freaked me out. Maybe it was just one of those weird things
he does to scare people a little occasionally. Anyway, it was cool seeing
him. INTERVIEW HIM PEOPLE INTERVIEW HIM!
Letterman's John Malkovich top ten had me in stitches

so, is DRQ playing 'bodyrock' in rotation now? man, that's weird... i
haven't listened in such a long time due to the terrible radio reception i'm
getting in my room.
on the other hand, it seems like chuck horn isn't playing moby very much
according to the playlist.

hehe...that's what you get fro having a bald head....but yeah true true..
I think the same thing with the song as I said before...in a set it is good
to slow things down, but alone...I just don't think it's powerful
enough..and he was singing too low for his voice to be too
audible...though...I wonder how much of that was on DAT...or if the vocal
sample and the usual"yeahs" were on drum triggers...anyways

Well, I was very disappointed in the performance. It's a great song but it
doesn't convey Moby's energy or his ability level. I think he should have
picked a song that better matched his mood. He was nervous and maybe moving
around more could have helped calm him down. It looks like he wanted to do
that. Half the time I could barley hear moby's voice and at one point I
thought the mike was off because I couldn't hear anything except the voice
overlay. Oh well.............
I definitely think he should have made a more interesting guest than the
other Dave had on. But usually they never interview the performers.
BTW I couldn't keep from staring at Moby's head cause he had a pulsing vein
on both sides of his head. On every close up you can see it quite clearly
and
I couldn't stop staring at it. Depending on the light you could see one of
them or the other.

We have 2 weeks! Chill!!! I definitely wanna meet up too, so keep in touch

Hello All,
I just wanted to remind everyone that the downloadable copy of "Flying
Foxes" from Amazon.com EXPIRES January 15, 1999. Someone has to convert this
to MP3! If anyone knows how, get in touch with me! I will be happy to do it
and post it (along with the letterman performance) The only way I can think
of doing it (without a software crack) is to record it to mini-disk or dat
then back to wav and convert to mp3. But i don't have a DAT or minidisk
recorder so i'm out of luck. I think trying to go to tape cassette would be
pretty much futile. However if know one knows of a better way, this is what I
will do.
If anyone has any ideas - please let me know!
- -----rob "I hate Liquid Audio" skipworth
BRAD! I know you have access to a DAT or minidisk! Feel up to the challenge?

okay at spin.com it says about the Natural Blues
download (ive been hearing a lot about this! is this
some revolutionary type first time ever thingy?)
and it sez that moby is an official F.O.M. (friend of
madonna) anybody know about this? it also says
"Natural" is a letterman favorite.....
i was looking at the old Amazon radio playlists (thats
this show on WPKN for and by homosexuals, especially
lesbians) and on december 19 1995, the first song
played was "Believe I'll Run On..." by Sweet Honey In
The Rock. I heard they did a version of the song used
in "Run On" correct? heres the page in case you wanna
see it:
http://www.wpkn.org/wpkn/amazon/1995.html
its the first song mentioned there........
also, i know you guys have said all this, but what are
the words to Honey? when you were discussing this it
was when the single had came out and i hadnt heard any
of it vuz it wasnt out in america or anything.
great mix: Beastie "Jimmy James"/Moby "Honey"
i dont know, they kind of resemble each other, like
the beats, i think. they have a similar feel. in a
good way, of course. of course, they both involve
Mario Caldato Jr so there ya go.......

You guys have got great Musik sense, I mean you all love Moby for a starter
but you are all still divided over Animal Rights. I love every album he
has made that I have listened to. I just got End of Everything yesterday,
and, well, it fucking kick ass. And guess what, that is what I said when I
got, I like to score, play, animal rights, EIW, and EIR remixed. They all
kick alot of ass because they are all so different. If you don't like hard
musik then you don't like AR, but I don't think its fair to say that it is
below par with the rest of the albums in mind. Does that make sense?
And to all the people who said they like AR, I'm sorry but are you guys
deaf or what! I love the album, but the best songs that you guys said were
all the same, but not once did I see Face It on the list.
Face It is the best song on that album and if you don't believe me then get
some Demon Weed and smoke it till your hungary then put that track on Full
Bore and wait for it to hit you. That is how I converted alot of my friends.
It is the best song Smashed. Bar None.
And after you listen to it smashed you will love it even more than before.
TRUST ME.
If you don't smoke that Naughty substance, then basically your screwed.
Smashed and Drunk are definately not the same.

i never loved anything while i was "smashed". i spent the whole time
sitting and wondering what the hell i was doing to myself. everything i
said came out mangled; i didn't make any sense. i would lose thoughts
halfway through them...in essence i hated myself. so i stopped. and beside
the point, isn't excessive drug abuse the direct antithesis of what moby
stands for? i *don't* like to preach, you know what's best for you, but
i'll take a chance at losing out on something and listen to Face It sober.
no offence.
peace.

Okay, so I know I can't spell the damn title, but that's not the point. It's
the most beautiful song ever created. I have converted so many people into
moby fans based on that song. I played it for a hard core rap fan and he so
totally loved it (go figure) and my little brother, who usually thinks Moby
is to mellow, just had me keep playing the song endlessly. I really think
they should play it more, instead of BodyRock. Don't get me wrong, I like
Body Rock, but it really misrepresents the rest of Play. I can just image
all of these bubble gum poppers totally digging Body Rock and then being
totally pissed because the rest of the album isn't like it, so they don't
even give it a chance. I know that personnaly, it took me awhile to give
Play a real good hard listen cuz I seriously dislike Honey. It just bugs me.
But after I really sat down and attentively listened to the rest of the
album, I loved it. But again, that's just my take on it.

Heh...ok to enjoy someone's music I don't need to be fucked up on some
narcotic....I enjoy the music on my own terms...also, your opinions don't
stand as facts....we can say what songs we like, and you don't have to call
us deaf. An album produces a theme, a joint venture between the songs. If
you put too many different types of songs on an album, then there is no
concept, it is just a outburst and fails to convey a message. Animal Rights
is about raw emotion taken to a level of restraint to a level of out of
control. I think the album is fucking raw and emotional just listening to
it anywhere, no matter what mood I am in. You discredit an artist if you
say "oh that song kicks ass if I am smoking weed." Anybody that told me
that, I would tell them to fuck off and get off on someone elses music. I'm
not deaf by the way, I major in Audio Recording...I appreciate the way the
album was put together, to mix raw emotions and how each song sets the mood
for the concept of the album. Just because we enjoy certain songs more than
what you like, doesn't mean we can not grasp some higher level of thinking
that you apparently have when smashed. Stick with what you know....don't
question my ability to interpret what songs are good or bad or stick out or
are different. I like to think everyone is entitled to their
opinion...later

I too had many people convert to moby because of Porcelain...I think it
strikes an emotional vibe for some people.
When he performed it live it seemed to just take the crowd. Most of whom did
not know moby at all (concert was a freebie).
A friend of mine who listens to rap and country (yeah its wierd) loves
porcelain...its one of those common bond songs.
So Letterman was sweet...I was really suprised/glad to see that "natural
blues" was performed...A nice change.
