like me that dont quite pay attention to the date it would be on a friday,
not this friday but next friday.

hi
i'm sitting here in the airport in stockholm(where they
have free internet access! woo-hoo!) and i was looking
at 'mobility' and i saw that some people had written in
about the use of my music in commercials and tv shows, etc.
let me try to explain...
the record companies(mute & v2)have a lot of contractual
freedom to use my music as they see fit. my contract
says, i believe, that they can't use my music for
cigarette commercials and commercials for weapons, etc.
i could make a big stink when they license my songs
to commercials, but that would antagonize them and
i don't want to antagonize these people. they work
hard and they're all quite nice and i don't want to
make their lives difficult. my feeling is also that
music in a commercial or tv show eventually goes away
whereas the records tend to stay around for a while.
i hope that it's not too upsetting for people to
hear my music on these weird shows.

I'd probably put him in David Byrne's old slot and call them the Dancing
Heads. I'd like to see u-ziq & Moby remix each other, but not join. I
wouldn't mind seeing the results of a Moby/Bowie teamup. For nonsense, I'd
like to see a music video w/ Moby dressed in a karate uniform imitating bad
overdubs, having his eyes bugged out, attacking a band of evil ninja
pollutant monsters. Or maybe dropping a HUGE pile of broccoli & cauliflower
on JFK airport. Top it with Ranch.
WATCH OUT! IT'S THE TOFU TERROR, AND IT'S HEADING OUR WAY!!!

Hello dear family,
Just writing to let you all know that I have not completely vanished
though I've missed reading about 300 of the most recent emails. I have
picked up on the not so unfamiliar drama of being off topic and all.
For those who've been on the list long enough... you know what my stance
is and that I am a bit picky about STAYING off topic when you can just
as easy write personally to your new found friend or foe.
So thanks to all of those who've tried to keep things focused while my
attention has drifted elsewhere the past few weeks. It is a job that I
should have been doing. No-thanks to those who forgot that several
hundred people subscribed to this list expecting that they would being
hearing about MOBY and not MATH or whatever.
I expect to be more pro-active in reducing the noise ratio on this
mailing list. So if I send someone a nasty-gram (email) out of the blue
don't be surprised... I have to start somewhere. :■

p.s. it occurred to me... "you know what, maybe i wouldn't be so backed
up on unread email if the list wasn't dishing out so much junk. hmm."

Moby is a pretty accessible artist. He usually
tours everywhere and anywhere nowadays, so you
can always hope to see Moby again... especially
in an area like Cali. However, some people give
limbs to see Underworld, the Chemical Brothers,
Fatboy Slim, etc... If you are only going to pay
for one day, please take Saturday!

I would think, and this is purely circumstantial,
that Moby would NOT like to be compared to a god.
He may be good, but he's no messiah. Hendrix
maybe, but definitely not Moby. :) j/k

Yeah, the other day I heard a MOBY song on an ANTI-CIGERETTE comercial.
I was half awake because I heard it when my alarm went off but I was

I don't bow, kiss arse or worship anybody on this planet.
Respect due, maybe.
I'm sure Moby would respect that. I don't need to get my
advice from Moby, but I like to hear his views, I do have a
mind of my own...I hope!? I'm glad people have similar
views on life..and I think there are views worth having more
than others, eg. respecting every person's right to life and
certain freedoms that don't negate human rights, followed
by mammals and other creatures that feel pain and have
emotions.

no shit....if you people think moby sold out because his music is in
commercials then stop liking him and start going for bands that (in your
opinions) will not sell out....these people make a living making and selling
records....just like we make our living any other way...would it be a bad
thing if a person got promoted to a higher level at their job..would he sell
