hey dudes!
that gold outfit moby wore at the VMAs was ROCK!!!!!!
that was so cool. evn tho he appeares a total of 10en
sec.s oh well! n BODYROCK was in a commercial "the
rhythm of beeing young" uch!!!!!!
so does that mean theyll actually PLAY moby on
mtv!?!?!?
the other great moment was when they did BEST
BREAKTHRU VID and they played UNKLE and the EELS!!!!!
yay!!!!! they didnt win but at least they mentioned
them! and people cheered when they played them
tooo!!!!! and my sister is also a teenybopper so she
listens to all that crap so i had to tape it for her,
so she has moby and UNKLE on tape! yay!
right anyway i borrowed sum shit from SEBASTIAN and he
gave me MARK FARINA MUSHROOM JAZZ 2 and on one track
DJ MIGS "Sunday Night" it samples the breakbeat from
"South Side"! so thats TWO songs ive heard in the past
week or so that sample that beat! the other "Mom" by
Mom from 1994, so both of these are like acid jazz
type breaks, who would ever think from hearing south
side that thats an acid jazz break!?!?!
and he also gave me a mixtape, heres the tracklisting!
(titles only listed)
A:Fresh
Lesson 6
All That Glitters
The Weekend Starts Here

Bright Light
B:GBH
Twist & Crawl
Intro: Jah Live
I Shot The Sherrif
Brown Paper Bag

Choose Your Jesus
Song For Lindy
Fire On Mt Sinai

Weather Experience
of course the tape itself did not mix the tracklisting
but the thing is over half the stuff on here or so is
from mixtapes or cds i gave him to borrow!
those of u who only joined MOBILITY in the last year
1/2 or so have no clue what this means, but 2wo trax
here are from a trribute album we did a while ago, and

Subject: (mobility) Happy bday to you, happy bday to you...
This message goes out to moby to have a happy birthday, and to hope he has
some good times for the day (and the year of course). His music has meant
so much to me and to the rest of us that I felt I should at least say that.
I was thrilled to see him live for the first time two weeks ago in Toronto,
and would love to be able to do more than to say thanks, but it will have
to do I guess. Just as long as he knows that I appreciate (as the rest of
us here does) everything he has done with his natural given talent to write
beautiful music.
Thank You.
Brett McSherry
P.S. oh yeah, and Happy Birthday again!

I have a weebitta quote for ya regardin that query!:
"VoodooChild: Do you feel that keeping pets is unethical?
"MOBY: I think that pets and humans have evolved next to each other and it's hard
to make blanket statements about them."
I read that at sonicnet.com. Go there and search for Moby and you'll find 3 long
chats with him and various people who happened to show up :)

Hi Everyone.
I just heard this unconfirmed Rumour that Moby is going to open for
Eurythmics in New York, later this year.
For me this is brilliant news as I have always loved Eurythmics and thought
Annie Lennox would have been brilliant if Moby had used her in some of his
songs.
Cheers

I had thought he was gonna perform too so that was a bummer. BUT I thought
it was funny as hell that he sat there all night spinning tunes off of
"Play" so in other words the three hour show served as one big promotion
for "Play", he more or less bought 3 hours of free promotion for his latest
CD. It was about the only thing that sounded good on a night of shit act
and performance after shit act and performance.

Recently I drempt of Moby and I want to tell it to all the fellow Moby-heads
around here to see if I'm odd or not........
I was stuck in a horrable traffic-jam late at night. Then a white car with
MOBY in huge black letters on the back wind sheild came speeding down the
lane to the side of me and I hurd a huge crash. I looked to see what happened
and Moby stepped out of the car (unharmed), walked to my car, and looked at
me. I got out of my car, and just jumped on him giving him the biggest hug I
could. He asked if I could give him a ride and ofcourse I said yes and
started crying. Right after that, traffic magicly cleared up and Moby was
sitting in my backseat. I was turned around just histaricly crying and
telling him how much I loved his show I saw in Detroit on the 31st. He
directed me to a house I had never seen before and told me to come in. he led
me to a bedroom with a huge canopy bed with red curtins draped all around it.
he said thanks for the ride and gave me a big bear hug and a kiss on the
cheek. Then he began to say something else.....But I woke up.
Odd?

Hello all...
Just wondering if the cut that Moby does on the album "School House Rocks!"
is any good. And for that matter, if the whole CD itself is any good...
Only thing I've hread off it is the Blind Melon track "Three Is The Magic
Number."
Columbia House has the CD for .99, and I thought it might be worth a tryout,
but since I have all you reviewers out there, I figured I'd go ahead and ask
before ordering it... =)
Thanks for any input...

The Moby track is pretty good. It's kind of bouncy noisy techno with an
almost punkabilly-ish guitar thing going on.
If I remember correctly ;-)
The rest of the CD is decent. There are some highlights, like 'Man or
Astroman?' doing a surf rockish rendition of one of the songs. Most of the
songs are alterna-rock or acoustic rock. I remember a rap track as well.
If you ever watched Schoolhouse Rock, it's a cool CD to have--though not
nearly as cool as Saturday Morning Cartoons' Greatest Hits on Bulletproof
Records. If you ever get a chance to get that, do so...but anyway, for .99
I'd say why not?
