Damn... I still haven't got my remix 12" from eBay... the guy I bought it
from is
really taking his time!
Oh, and I've also made a little Bodyrock remix! I have recorded it on
MiniDisc
and then compressed it into .wma format. (I can also make an mp3...)
It's called: Moby - Bodyrock (Bart's electro mix) and the .wma is about
2.55 Mb. It has a sort of early '90s minimal electronic sound and is a
nice
kind of background music, it is totally different from the mixes that can be
listened to @ www.beatnik.com It has pretty crappy soundquality, but what
do you expect from streamed audio through a 33k6 connection.....
Perhaps someone with a homepage can host for me???
please e-mail me at eijck@iae.nl
I also finally got Disk running, but the old Quicktime version really f#cked
up my system!! Grrrrrrrrr! :(

the show is $13 in advance....$15 dos and there is a $2 minor surcharge. go
to www.metrotix.com--this is the stl online ticket center (like
ticketmaster). there should also be directions to the venue etc. at the
site. i live in stl....it's at a place called karma....kinda a hole in the
wall and is not marked--basically look for a large parking lot off delmar
(the street it's on) before 18th i think...it's free to parkthere....the
club is in the warahouse right next to the lot (i think there are 2 double
doors or something and there might be a small sign that's says karma)....the
doors open at 9pm and the opening act it boom boom satellite (fyi if you
didn't know).
hope this helps

Justed wanted to let you know that i should have pics from the st. louis
show scanned in by wednesday at the latest. Anyone who hasn't seen a show
needs to check out the pictures of "1000". They don't come close to
conveying the feeling and intensity of the performance... but you can at

Hi everybody!
Ok, so we all know our favourite musician Moby is going to play his
guitar in his buddy Paul Yates' latest film called Porno... We also know
that it probably will be out in the summer of 2000....But what we didn't
know (and I heard this on the radio) is that Moby is also going to do
the music for the soundtrack!
Can anyone confirm this???

Subject: (mobility) Shopwell & Hackers 3
The Shopwell record is exactly as described: industrial noise, all the way
through. There was lots of clanging metal and 1950's outer space super
cheesy sound effects. It was like Thurston Moore fell asleep on his effects
table or something. It was good for a laugh, and will be useful to get
people out of a party once it's over. There are lots of funny liner notes
with Moby (as Jim Biscuit) rolling around in paint and goofing around with
Paul Yates and James Harrell. There's other jokey stuff like a poem and some
schizophrenic rambling, all in the key of Peanuts. Looks like they had a
whole lot of fun recording this.
I saw today that Why Can't It Stop is on the soundtrack for the Hackers 3.
Is this a third soundtrack for one movie or is there actually a Hackers 3
movie? Just curious if it might be the Trainspotting soundtrack syndrome.
Anyways, it's credited to Moby instead of Lopez this time around. There's
also going to be a mix of BT's Godspeed on it, and a Leftfield mix of John
Lydon's Psychopath. That song is also on the Sun 12", which also has Moby's
mix of Grave Ride, coincidentally. The Leftfield mix is bizarro and fun with
Lydon's unusual voice and some accordians. There's a promo 7" picture disc
out now that's one-sided w/ Why Cant It Stop on side A. There's no acutal
picture on it, it's just black & white with track listings for the
forthcoming soundtrack.

I think my, ah, human-ness is why I like MP3s so much. not only do i get
music for free, but i also can make playlists to suit my every mood. Which
is perfect for someone who has either a pc in her bedroom or major living
space. You know the concept of the mix tape right? The makeout tape, the
workout tape? Well now you can have a hundred thousand mix tapes but you
haven't spent any money and you haven't wasted any plastic. and you don't
have to hop out of bed and flip the tape over either. ;)

I'm the same way. And if people don't be quiet when i ask them to, i start
the song over. and over. and over. as necessary :)

Subject: (mobility) Baptism and Communion
Moby Played St Louis Saturday night to a packed crowd at the Karma Club in
the Loft District downtown. It was the second show I've seen on this tour
(1st was dallas two weeks ago), and his energy level and crowd interaction
made the show more memorable and enjoyable than ever before. He made
frequent humorously mean quips about the R&B club downstairs playing R Kelly
and Ricky Martin he could hear through the floor between songs and two drunk
lesbians who actually crossed the stage between songs to extend the drunker
of the two a happy birthday greeting. He also explained to the crowd why he
doesn't wear underwear while he is performing. (It chafes him). He is,
without a doubt, the most generous performer I've ever seen. After the show,
I asked him what he thinks about while he's performing "Thousand." His
reply: "This sounds really odd, but tonight I was watching the smoke play in
the lights and thinking about string theory."
This was the set list.
My Weakness
Find My Baby
Machete
Why Can't it Stop?
James Bond Theme
Porcelain
Go
Next is the E
Everloving
Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?
("If Things Were Perfect" is on the set list at this point, but wasn't
played)
Ah Ah
Bring Back My Happiness
Bodyrock
Honey
Feeling So Real
That's When I Reach For My Revolver
Thousand
Before the first encore, Moby and his band proved their generosity
distributing many, many cups of ice water to the parched audience (it was
wicked hot in the club). In Dallas, they poured a couple of gallons of water
over the crowd as they were starting the encore. So, I guess I was baptized
at one Moby show, and took communion at another. And if you doubt the
significance of the religious imagery, you haven't been to a Moby show!
