Hey Dave, my name is Bill and welcome to the list! You seem to have a very
diverse musical taste; excellent choices though! Here are some the more
recent CD's I have purchased:
1. Missy Elliot - Da Real World
2. Whitney Houston - My Love Is Your Love
3. Texas - The Hush
4. MOBY - Revolver CD Single & Everytime You Touch Me CD Single
5. "GO" Soundtrack
6. Underworld - Beaucoup Fish
7. Gusgus - This Is Normal
I am 23 and work as a teacher in San Diego, CA. Take care

\Last night I saw Dave Matthews in concert in Chula Vista, CA. The show was
amazing; dave is wicked live, and his band are true musicians. I have a
better appreciation for the talent and musicianship that the band possesses.
I swear I saw God!

This reminds me to mention that Moby is gettting quite a bit of play (no
pun intended) on our local college station. They're playing "Porcelain" a
lot and the idiots on the Electronika show actually said that the new Moby
is excellent; they played "Honey." I should loan them some CD singles...

them at AXIS on Landsdown about 3 years ago.
Didn't someone mention MOBY playing at the end of JULY in Boston??

>I want to see Steve Giles' answer to this...
One day I decided I wanted all the early Instinct 12"s. I set about
obtaining copies of each. The one record that took me longest to find was
Voodoo Child Remixes. I spent about 5 months hoping to find Remixes. Next to
that, the Voodoo Child 12". I found one in the Netherlands but didn't want
to buy it from there. (Bart has that copy now, from Ellesdesia.nl, I
believe, they have lots of Moby vinyl) The UHF, Barracuda, Brainstorm,
Mobility, Next Is The E, Brotherhood, & self-titled I got together, all at
once, for $100. It took me about a week to score that deal on Watts Vinyl
Seekers BBS. (www.wattsmusic.com) So that was actually easy! (the
Brotherhood was a surprise gift from the seller)
As for CDs, EIW w/ Underwater was very difficult. There is this 'add your
own Moby review and rate each release' page somewhere, and somebody had
posted a negative review of EIW and said the sleepy bonus disc was the only
redeeming feature. The post was over a year old, but I wrote the listed
email and asked to buy it. I did for $20. That was late 98. The COB 2-pack
may be surfacing now that Moby's name is getting around, but during the fall
of last year it was scarce if not impossible to locate. That took me about 2
or 3 months.
Check out these US stores for good Moby selections:

the SF moby show is Aug 10th at the maritime hall. $20
a really small venue! yeah!! i'll be taking pad &
paper to get a set list. he's playing with boom boom
satalite...who are they?
Orbital/Crystal Method(I HATE CRYSTAL METHOD!!!)July
23rd at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Another
beautiful newly renovated small venue. But tickets are
$30 and i HATE CRYSTAL METHOD!!
Chemical Brothers are only playing at "cyberfest"!
FUCK THAT!!! they are the most ridiculous "corporate"
parties ever thrown and I hate them!!! I don't care
who's playing i won't support them. i went to the
first one back in like 93 and there was 18,000 people
there. BLECK! but in case anyone is interested..other
acts include BT, Dj Rap & Goldie. It's at the santa
clara county fair grounds. going to be waaaay to many
people!!
for anyone in the SF bay area, just a reminder that
dubtribe is throwing an all day Bastille day block
party in San Fran on wed. july 14th. it's free!! goes
from 3 pm to 11 pm.
hey bill! i'm going to DMB tomorrow night at the
beautiful shorline amphitheatre in mountain view, CA.
i even got decent seats!(that's really hard to do with
all the fanclub members getting first dibs on tickets
these days). it's gonna be sweet! sippin' a nice brew,
dancin to some dave as the sun sets over the hills.
i'm soooo excited!!

I know I'm kinda late on this one, but, like Giles said, there is
something for everybody on the remix singles. My older bro gave the
Feeling so Real remixes and that is my favorite Cd of Moby's that I have
besides Play. Simply because all of them sound different from each
other. They just use the same samples in a different combo, and you get
a really nice effect out of it. I'm really glad he put in the samples at
the end of the Cd too, when I get my sampling machine, I'm going to have
fun.

Subject: (mobility) bodyrock video + moby cereals!
The Bodyrock video is now on heavy rotation on VIVA 2. It features Moby and
another bloke somewhere in NY (is suppose) and this guy is dancing around to
the song, while Moby does some things to make it more thrilling. For
example, he sets some tires on fire behind this other guy, and one of the
tires is accidentally rolling away, setting a car on fire. It's pretty
funny, and the music differs a bit from the version on the album. I don't
have the single yet, maybe it's the official radio edit.
And we German Moby fans got something great now: Hipp (a big producer of
baby's food) has done cereals called "Honey Moby"! Check out Mute's new
German site (www.mute.de) for more info. They've also got dozens of pics,
including one of a text Moby wrote about the Simpsons.
