i just got Play today, and i can gladly say that i was pleasently surprised.
i'm soooo happy that the format is much like Everything is Wrong, that is
mixing all sorts of styles on the same disc. those of you in chicago have
probably noticed that every entertainment paper (UR, Chicago Reader, etc.)
has good reviews of the cd. as to some of the music, i think that there is
not a single song that i don't really like. Everloving is one of my
favorites, along with South Side. Those who say Bodyrock is a shabby song
should turn their stereos on reallly loud and listen to it, cuz it rocks!
Speaking of Bodyrock, Q101 has been playing it and it has even been on the
top 9 at 9, turning in an impressive 7th place. I can definately see this
album making Moby finally huge in the US.
That's all for now

Grrr... yeah I drove around to four different places, everyone of them
saying that they didn't know of any new album, till finally a friend of
mine at one record store did indeed say that it has a release date of June
15.
Man, delay after delay after delay, I am really getting sick of this. I
can't even find any of the singles yet, not even the Honey/Run On single
for the North American audience. Thank god, I one a signed copy of it from
Steve Giles and his cd contest, or I would still be stuck without it. This
album better be good, I can't believe what the ongoing waiting for this
album is like.

moby is on the cover of "the aquarian weekly" magazine....there is an
interview in it and i clearly noticed the redundancy in these freakin
interviews...all it ever talks about is his ability to go from metal to
techno....then moby goes on to explain himself and the godamm interviewers
continue to bash him for this beliefs...this one interviewer was so good he
called moby's Animal Rights album Animal Instincts..ok..i just think they
should move on and be more creative with their freakin interviews...love..elie

ok, i apologize..the beginning of the article sux but reading along i
realized that it had some solid interviewing to put this reporter in the good
reporter's list...my pre-judgemental human nature made me bash this guy..i
still give the finger to those who do bash Moby for being a crative musician
who makes music for himself first...here's a little snippet from the article
about pre-judgement by Moby:
"Things are not always as they seem. I feel that we should all look deeper
to see the real truth behind ourselves and others. So here's the story that
goes along with that:
" I used to work as a bartender, and I kept a chessboard set up at my bar.
One night these really rough guys come in and I'm thinking that there's going
to be trouble.
" These guys are dirty, mean and lowdown looking. They come over to me and
one guy looks at me and asks me if I want to play a game of chess. I'm
pretty good because I've been playing for a long time, so I automatically
know that I can beat this person who I've already judged. He beat me so bad,
so quickly and turned out to be one of the most intelligent people that I had
ever spoken with. That says alot about what we all could be missing in life
just because of our inability to look beyond surface value."
Well said!!!!

I wish I could see Moby in concert or spinning sometime. I just got Play
today as well. I love what I am hearing right now (it is playing in my stereo
as I type). I like the old school soul he samples (Bessie Smith), and the
hiphop/rock beats are stellar. This could easily top Everything is Wrong.
Remarkable album indeed.
If anyone knows when Moby is supposed to come to California (san diego or la
area), let me know.

well, we have these politicians here, word-freaks, who constantly try to
outnumber each other in gimmicks and smart-talk
(a bit like me, i know...:-)
but ya know... they all scorn at each other, all the time, in newspapers, on
the news and in tv and so...
and than last week, we had a crisis... government send home, so everybody
pissed...
and then,
ONE guy from the Consensus-parties, said about the bigger Opposition-leader:
"I bet he cant even play chess...!"
and everybody fell on the floor, this was considered as saying: "he is So
dumb, he cant even think 2 steps ahead"
...so, that's why we don't have a government now, cause they cant [even]
play chess...
"Gimme Summe!"

Spare time to go my local record store (I've learnt that not always the
"big" one have it all), found people that had heard of (and like) Moby,
and distribution made (finally) possible Play to reach me :)
It's great because I had MP3s of songs some days before, and I already
know the songs, but the case, and reading the booklet (maybe tonight)
are unrepeatable...

There is a Moby interview at amazon.com. It's in a link in the related

"PLay" is the #40th seller there! It's been climbing
very steadily there.I'll bet this is going to be Moby's best selling
album.

Anybody else noticed/thinks this? Or am i just a weirdo/loner/psycho?
Also, Play doesn't open with an instrumental track, like EIW, AR, and
ILTS. Any insight?
