I'd just like to mention the scene in heat where De Nero and Pacino shake
hands at the end and God Moving Over the Face of the Waters playing was
extremely cool in the theater. You just can't recreate that with a vcr :(

Um, I know this is really off the moby subject but I have to ask. Is
Orbital's Middle of Nowhere going to be released in the U.S.? I got some
U.K. import singles saying May 4th is the release date, but I still haven't
seen it in a store or on online stores unless I want to order the import
(which I will if I have to). BTW I am a pretty big Orbital fan but I don't
know about those dates sorry.

it seems that moby has had the time to make a few apperances (sp?) here
lately. i'm assuming he has some time off after the big interview binge
he just had. well, if he has time to sift through all the day to day
stuff the goes on here, maybe he has time to answer a few questions from
us?
we could compile a list of questions, send it to him, and he could
take his time to answer. that way he could get some time to think in
between questions. also, he could stop some silly threads before they happen.
(and, of course, start many others...)
i'm sure our fearless list-leader would know if this were possible.
i remember doing this when i has a chance to talk to moby in minneapolis
on the last tour. it was nice to know i was asking "real" questions from
fans and not some stock hack-music-reporter crap that you can find in
every major music rag out there. i can't imagine moby refusing (sp again),
unless he's off on some major business already...
maybe this way he could open up a bit more and not worry about selling
his new record. we want to know what he THINKS, not just about the music.
so, moby, if yer out there...?

hi,
now i read the essays in the Play-booklet,
but i still dont understand 30 e-mails about a Gwen-thing...
and why you people dont just CHEER & BE HAPPY
with 18 )EIGHTTEEN( songs... new songs...
yesterday i wrote a nice (p)review about the new Play-cd,
but it went crashed in a loss... eh otherway round...
So i'm not gonna do it again, UNTILL some of you
mention that it interests you
i decided to come back to this Mad-House Mobility, because this new cd came out,
and not to hear ppl's crying about being misunderstood
If some of you want to DISCUSS, be my guest,
but use the mouse and click the right address...
there must be tons of newsgroups out there, where you can discuss untill you
drop!
...but first: learn to argue!
I just got back here 24 hours - and 24 hours I want to share this Enormous
Moby-like cd with my freaks...
but if i get one more e-mail with the word 'Gwen' in it, i unsubscribe again...
At the moment, all i have to say:
Play 'PLAY' >>>>>>>
and re-Play

weird...
orbital is coming up as being offtopic on this list, and moby is coming up
as being offtopic on the orbital list. someone got play a few days ago on
that list, and now people are talking about middle of nowhere here.
coincidence? i think not.
anyway, i dont know the answer to your question, but the people on the
orbital list might. i haven't been paying much attention to the tour
because i haven't seen any canadian dates posted yet. if you want the info
on how to join either i, or one of the other people on mobility who
suscribe to the orbital list can help you out. (i'd post the address right
now, but i've deleted all my old orbital email and forgot what the
suscription address was)
peace.

Has anybody heard of this album? i think i read an article where moby was
reviewing his favorite albums and he said something about doing remixes for
omd, joy division and others. and by the way, what's become of the plans of
jayne hall (bran van 3000) singing on play? i wish moby would do some more
tunes with guest singers.

the dates for the orbital/crystal method tour havebeen posted to the crystal
method site
www.thecrystalmethod.com.
To find out when they go on sale, crossreference it with ticketmaster.
I did a long hard examination of my finances yesterday and
realized I could probably not afford a $2-300 train trip to
see them since they are not playing _anywhere_ near wash. d.c.
for some strange reason. Trying to setup a road trip but none
of my friends have cars or drive. :( :(

It is not an album, it is a 3 track single. I have it myself...
I also wrote a review about the Moby mix in the review contest a while ago.
Here it is again:
THE OMD REMIXES [Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, 1998] UK(?) CD, Virgin,
VSCDT 1694
?? (there's probably also a 12" version of this single, I have no info about
that...)
This CD has 3 tracks including one Moby remix on track 2.
Souvenir [Moby Remix 4:40] is the most recent Moby remix I have. It has the
new Moby sound like in Honey and Run On --> a nice hip hop beat and piano's.
The piano in this mix is not the same as in Honey though... It's a bright
piano with a bit of echo in it, playing the melody and not the chords like
in Honey. The Moby mix also includes (I think) the full vocals from the
original. My experience with remixes by other artists is that if they decide
to include the full vocals, it often sounds horrible, but with this mix by
Moby they fit right in... This mix is also a good example of what Moby once
said about how he made Honey and Run On. He first sought some a cappella
vocals and then built a song around them. I think he did the same with this
mix. The Moby mix has a very melodic and a bit com-mercial mid-'80s sound (I
cant help thinking about Depeche Mode when I hear it), but after 2:30 the
"End of Everything"-like synths come in and transform the song (apart from
the beat) into a sort of classical soundtrack.

Sorry everybody! I had to retype the thing to the best of my memory's
ability, it'll be interesting to see where the two messages differ. Must be
a hotmail problem. I'll check to archives at xmission next time before I
pull that dumb doubleposting stunt again. I looked at moby.org and thought I
saw emails up that came through after I sent mine, but I was wrong about
that.

With Play coming out and new people bound to be incoming, now is a perfect
time for updates! Your pages are the proper place for profiles, too. I'll
try to get a picture of me scanned. You all listen to me enough that those
curious should see my face. Here's a new profile for me. I'm thinking a menu
that points to cool stories and reviews in the archive would be nice. Just
imagine the abundance of reviews that will be readily available to a casual
visitor! That would fit either at your page, Damien, or interlaced through
the Daniel's Moby.org reviews section. I'll be happy to fish them out if one
of you guys decides to use the idea.
