Uh, why bother having the stereo at all if you are just gonna use
headphones? Buy a portable CD player if you're just gonna use
headphones. You'll save money too.
Get the speakers. I personally like to cook with music playing and
also cleaning the house and stuff so it would have to be speakers.

of headphones sometimes transforms the song. Anyway, anyone have any better
opinion to help me decide what to buy, better speakers or some headphones?

From what I see, the us version of play has 17 tracks and the uk version has
18 tracks. Is this correct?
Also, this summer, from June 28 to July 28 I am visiting europe. Are there
any places, clubs, music stores, or concerts (of moby, daft punk, faithless,
etc) that I can go to? Please give some good feedback. I have never seen
any of these groups in concert and would love to take the chance,
preferrably in europe.
Thanks

It depends where in Europe you are going? If you're going
to the U.K. there's the well known Glastonbury festival and
I'm sure I heard Faithless were playing there. As for Moby,
well he's cancelled his U.K dates and rescheduled them for
September. Don't know if he, or any of the others you
mentioned are playing in any other parts of the European
continent before then? Any Euro cousins out there who know
better?
U.K. clubs and music - loads in London, Manchester,
Liverpool, etc. Depends where you're going?

damian,
in case you, or anyone, are wondering why i thanked gwenn stefani,
here's why...
about 6 months ago someone gave gwen a copy of my demos and, as it turns
out, she's a fan. she offered to sing on one of the songs, and as i'm
always up for a bit of experimentation, i said sure.
she came to a studio in los angeles and sang on 'south side'. she was
extremely kind and down to earth and her contribution was quite good.
unfortunately i had already done a mix of 'south side' that i was happy
with so her contribution didn't find its way on to the album.
i hadn't been a big No Doubt fan before this, but she and the bass
player(tony) were so cool and so nice, that i have to give respect to
their band. so that's why i thanked her, she worked really hard on the
song and she was honestly a pleasure to hang out with.
i might add that my managers were dismayed that i opted to use a version
that didn't have her vocals on it, as they believe that radio might look
more kindly on a song with gwen stefani on it. but i liked my original
mix more. oh well, it wouldn't be the first time that i've
made a creative decision that irked my managers:-)

Whoooo, I'm so happy happy happy happy happy!
I got Play today, while I was listening to it the doorbell rang and I
got my autographed Honey/Run On cd and two records I'd ordered
some time ago: ATINITBL (the SOL transparent 7" !!!) and the
Bring Back My Happiness UK 12" promo!
The BBMH promo 12" contains 2 mixes that are not on the US cd!
They are the Voodoo Child Mix and the Interactive Mix. Strange the
VC mix isn't on the US CD, it sounds a bit like Feeling So Real!
I also hope to get the BBMH UK CD that I've ordered soon.
Let's walk through Play...
1. Honey
2. Find My Baby
Unrecognisable as being Moby, great song though!
Why isn't this the next single instead of Bodyrock?
3. Porcelain
"i never meant to hurt you, i never meant to lie.... so this is goodbye"
4. Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?
Ah, great piano! great sample used! It's a pity though that Moby used
the same beat as in Running (or the other way around...)
"Why does my soul feel so bad?"
5. South Side
Wow, Moby making a real POP song! I like it!
Nice guitar solo!
6. Rushing
Nice and tranquil... wish it were longer (3:00)
Lay back and enjoy... Nice song!
7. Body Rock
Hmm, I'm not too fond of it, it doesn't do anything to me.
Honestly, I think Moby should leave these things to Fatboy Slim,
the James Bond Theme was fun, but Bigbeat is not really Moby's
best style...
I agree with Michael Matos about Body Rock:
>It's almost embarrassing, to be blunt about it. You can hear what he's
>trying to do, you root for him to do it, and after 8 listens all I can say
is
>that as much as I wish it weren't so, he doesn't come close to doing it.
>A dud.
8. Natural Blues
Makes up completely for the disappointment of Body Rock.
"Ooh lord, my troubles so hard Don't nobody know 'bout my troubles
with god." Funky and atmospheric at the same time. Pianos over a
hiphop beat. One of my favourites!
9. Machete
Moby imitating Underworld... Acid techno that turns into a breakbeat.
Nice vocoder effect! Even though I'm not an Underworld fan I do like
this song!
10. 7
A CD filler... Compared to '7', 'Lets go free' is a great piece of music.
11. Run On
12. Down Slow
13. If Things Were Perfect
A nice, dark, spoken-word triphoppy kind of track.
"Nothing here but the quiet on the street, and now I open my eyes to this
Isolated when I work long, hard hours."
14. Everloving
Moby playing acoustic guitar and humming the melody.
Later percussion, piano and more guitar come in together with
synths. Think of "Living" Great song, but the ending is too abrubtly
and much too soon (3:25) for this kind of song...
15. Inside
This would fit perfectly between the tracks of The End Of Everything.
16. Guitar, Flute & String
Think: "Now I Let It Go" or "Lovesong For My Mom"
17. The Sky Is Broken
Very hypnotizing spoken-word-triphop.
BEAUTIFUL strings! IMO the best song of the album, but again the
song is way too short! (4:18) I wouldn't mind if it were 3 mins. longer..
18. My Weakness
No percussion here. Think of Little Idiot music with spooky choir vocal
samples. Grrr, again much too short! (3:37) really, really good song!
- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
- -----------------
I think Moby should have released 2 versions of Play, this one and a
2CD for real Moby fans with the long versions of the tracks.

Why? Are you sucking up because you slagged her off or
something? (Joking by the way).
But seriously, we don't know her - so she could be a really
nice person, in person (did I slag her off because I found
Kelly's way of putting things amusing!?)and yeah, I
wouldn't mind to hear her input on 'South Side' for meself.

Kind of sad that the INCREDIBLE work he has done is not acceptable
to certain REAL moby fans.............come on, some people would criticize
anything...........
I think it is nice to see that he can "show off" being able to touch
all genres of music in one album.

yes folks, "Bodyrock" has been getting airplay on
Radio 104, that crappy ass alternastation in Hartford
CT!
i was cruising the dial, when i heard 104 playing the
Beastie Boys so i kept listening, and Pyke (the snotty
night show dj) said that the numbeer one song in 104's
cage match AGAIN was Moby's "Bodyrock". cool!
The Cagematch of course is two new songs they play at
about 9:30 PM Eastern Time on Radio 104 104.1 FM, and
the song with the most listener response gets played
the next day. and i guess ultimately at the end of a
few weeks or sumthin the winning song goes into
rotation. so, well, "Bodyrock" is the current
champion. i havent even heard this song yet!
so if aNYONE wants to hear this, they can listen on
the internet at <http://www.radio104.com> at about
9:30 PM Eastern Time. and of course,
CALL RADIO 104 AT (203) 666 4444 IMEDIATELY AFTER AND
VOTE FOR IT! AND KEEP DOING THIS UNTIL IT GETS ON THE
AIR!!!!
oh yes, also MAIL MTV feedback@mtv.com AND DEMAND THEY
PUT SIFL AND OLLY BACK ON THE AIR!!!!! IT HAS BEEN OFF
THE AIR WITHOUT NOTICE FOR TWO WEEKS NOW AND WE NEED
IT BACK!!!!!!
did anyone see FUTURAMA the other night? the one with
the BEASTIE BOYS? that was phat! sorry i couldnt tell
yall ahead of time. bye!
